Superior Drummer 3 not loading in.

Teflon Don

Question

Happened out of nowhere, I was opening a recent project that had Superior Drummer 3 on it, it loads all the way but stops at "Loading synth data Superior Drummer 3..." and automatically stops responding. I updated SD3, I updated Cakewalk to latest version, I reinstalled all my waves plugins, I re-scanned every VST, no shot. However, it loads in SD3 when its off, and I can import a stock drag and drop version of it. Googling it just posts "how to use SD3 in cakewalk" videos, and nothing else.

Is there any reason it started right out of nowhere? It loaded fine the day before but now it crashes every project that has SD3 on it. Do I need to reinstall SD3 all over again?

Have you tried enabling VST scan logs to see if those generated logs sheds any light?

Enable these in Preferences - File - VST Settings and check the results here.

%APPDATA%\Cakewalk\Logs\VstScan.log

Nothing noteworthy apprears, Just saying scanned superior drummer 3.dll. Reinstalled SD3 and it still crashes at "loading synth data for SD3..." when I open a project.

Do you have full permissions to the folder where SD3 stores it's data?

I don’t use SD3 so I don’t know where that folder would be by default. (Maybe see if the Windows application event viewer tells you).

Have you tried temporarily running Cakewalk as an administrator (just to see if you can open a project).  If you can, then it looks like a Windows permission issue.
