SI VST Problem with MIDI

Guys, I desperately need help with my VST / track / DAW settings... Got a problem I never had before and I can't solve it.

I usually import my midi pads from Guitar Pro, then create an instrument track and put that MIDI track there.

But something went wrong with new project and moreover, I now have the same issue with all NEW projects.

Old works fine until I won't import these MIDI tracks, so I think it should be related with the track itself, but not sure about it.

Problem is that I can't hear any music from VST although MIDI signal seem to be there according to the data sheet.

It also could be related to DAW settings, but I didn't change anything from what has always worked perfectly for me and what is most important - once during the playback I change / choose the preset in VST - IT WORKS!

If I stop the track and play it again - it is mute again :(

If I put another VST, like EZDrummer - problem is gone.

I'm out of fix variants... Any recommendations?

Problems with 3rd party MIDI files and Studio Instruments (or any Cakewalk sfz engine synths) almost always comes down to unexpected data shutting down the sfz engine.

IIRC, by default Guitar Pro adds some non-note data to its MIDI file exports that the Cakewalk sfz engine synths can't handle. There may be some configuration in Guitar Pro to skip this part of the export.

Otherwise, the fix in CbB is either clean up the data using the Event List View and/or enable "Do Not Intercept NRPNs" in the SI Plug-in properties shown below.  The data is most often at the beginning of the file before the first note.

Hah! I finally got the problem! So what you do basically:

1. Remove unnecessary data by hand (showed on screenshot above)

2. CHANGE the preset in VST

Problem is only solved after p.2 is done!

Enabling "Do Not Intercept NRPNs" setting didn't work for me. But thanks again for the tips about non-note data !!!

Hope it can help somebody else ;)

After changing this setting did you restart the project?

If the synth engine shuts down, usually at least the project must be restarted to get the synth playing again.
