Editing with delete hole

Why is it ,that when you select multiple tracks to have  measures deleted, the blank one pass the point of deletion does not follow delete hole rule. It stays at the same place. You have to fill the track space with garbage to have it work. It used to work so I gather it is a setting in configuration area. Can someone enlighten me please.

Because there must be something to delete.

Try Ripple Edit instead
