  1. It goes down the same every time. They take you up on their spaceship and then they take you up the @ss
  2. How dare thee call out thy king!
  3. Lol I bought this. $45. Hopefully I can put my piano search to rest for a while.
  4. I watched live. Nice piano, but dang there's just too many great pianos out now. I want something I could dig better than the Grandeur. I should demo Pianoteq. This piano you reviewed is $49? Do you think it as good or better than Noir or anything else? Hey man, do you take requests? If so it'd be cool if you played some of The Young and the Restless in one of these videos. That's the riff I use lately to help guage if I like a piano or not lol
  5. I see what you're referring to. No, not Splice. With Splice you still pay for it, just in installments, whereas at that Best Service link I posted previously you can actually demo Ivory and other sample libraries, for free, before buying. Afaik only Best Service offers that, and I don't think it's offered for every single library out there but quite a few it looks like. They call it "Session Booking."
  6. Idk I haven't used it. But I'd definitely try that before shelling out $150 or more for a piano that I'd have to hope I liked. I'll have to try Pianoteq. What a subjective thing Pianoteq is; some swear by it and others hate it. Just have to try for oneself. I hope to like Pianoteq and could just live with that.
  7. Well, Best Service has thing mechanism I saw where you could "schedule" to demo some of these sample libraries before buying https://account.bestservice.com/try-sound/session_booking.html
  8. So what's your opinion on Ivory II vs Pianoteq today?
  9. Reminds me, there was this YouTube video I watched a few years ago when I was shopping for a pepper grinder and this young sounding guy had this really good and detailed review of this one grinder (forget what it was called) and in his review you just saw his hands and the pepper grinder and he did an excellent review of it, but the only real standout in the video was his coke nail. All of his nails were nicely manicured except for one pinky nail on one hand that was probably half an inch or more long and just about all of the comments, instead of talking about the pepper grinder he was reviewing, were asking him stuff like "Dude what's with the coke nail?" and "Whoa this dude had a coke nail!" I had no idea and had to google coke nail but once I got it I went back to the video and asked the same thing. I don't even remember what grinder I ended up buying but who goes around with a coke nail? Dude who does a lot of coke I guess.
  10. I still use SD2 but I only use the NY Vol. 3 kit and treat it like a real drummer in a band who doesn't own 30 different drum sets to his name. But even the NY v. 3 kit has several different versions of each kit piece and I dig it because like @Craig Fowler said they sound plenty good. NY Vol. 3 doesn't come with SD2 though, you can probably score it on sale when they have one for $70 something or cheaper on kvr. SD3 is $400 not on sale. I don't really like the stock Avatar kit in SD2, specifically the kicks I find weak. If I didn't already have SD2 if it were me I'd probably wait for a sale on SD3 and invest there.
  11. Is that a good deal on that I mean has there ever been a better deal than that? Anyway $150 seems about the standard piano price these days
  12. But we need to know so that we can make a more educated decision as to whether or not we want to support Izotope too 🤔
  13. No to insult the dev but being straight up that's just about right. Speaking from experience.
  14. I whistled and skipped down the street like it wasn't a pandemic
  15. Way better off today as I was drinking pretty heavily back then. I won't even tell you about that one morning towards the end of my tenure where I came in to the office still drunk and had to be there for the quarterly meeting where I had to address a large room of staff and upper management. I did fine because I was used to functioning like that and I'm not proud of that but it was what it was. Guess I did tell you about it lol. I left that gig to become a property manager which I was until two weeks ago. I'm in here because I'm holed up and restless and I don't want to work on music right now and I'm really starting to hate my TV.
  16. And I'm binging The Office again. I managed the facilities dept at the Starbucks Corp office in Seattle from '04 to '10. I didn't start out as their boss, but as one of them. I rose up and a few hated me for it but I had always hated them from the start because from day one they were always less than welcoming. There were several legacy folk there who reminded me of that stereotypical middle to upper aged territorial single woman who's lived in the apartment building you just moved into for over a decade and a half and she comes down huffing and puffing at your front door at the slightest bit of noise you've made. And my boss Tom.. now there was a wall to wall pos. Tom was this Go Lean bird seed eatin type of passively disdainful boss who you'd be in his good graces one moment and then for no apparent reason one day you'd just randomly fall out of favor. 10 years later and I still think about Tom, and how one day when he was out of the office I ran Dban on his PC just long enough to f up his hard drive so that when he came back to work the next day he got the BSOD and all of his work = gone. I droned long and hard in that office and I thought I was gonna die there. And I still have dreams about that job; a recurring dream where I keep getting fired from it in different ways. Last Sunday I moved into an artist loft in downtown Seattle that took 6 years to get into. I'm beginning a new chapter that may have happy ending but is beginning with a storm.
  17. Word, I'm gonna wait until they pay me to download it.
  18. He's got to do some kind of Fender next as he's totaly got the rock amps covered at this point. A Twin or something.
  19. Shove it wup their @ss. I've got nothing else to add to the conversation and almost feel a bit guilty even saying that, but.
