  1. Me and a couple of friends went to Sweetwater a few months ago (we drove down from Michigan).  It was great!  My Sales Engineer met us and spent a couple of hours showing us around.  We got to see all the sales areas and the studios, performance theater, warehouse area.  We finished off by having lunch at the cafeteria.

It was a really nice day.  Unfortunately I did not pick up any toys while I was there (not that there wasn't  a lot of temptation).  My wife told me that if I brought anything home, I better have gotten free!   LOL

Then I would waste one of my authorizations.  Gee wiz, I only have 8 left! 😁

Last time I had to de-authorize/authorize, I did not lose any authorizations.  Once de-authorized, count went up, then when I re-authorized, the count went back to what it was (would be 8 in your case).

Just did it and the count went from 8 to 9, then back to 8 (after re-authorization)

  3. Just curious,  Did you check the "Events" list once this condition occurs . .  .   Just wondering if it shows up there.

    Dang it!

I don't know how to feel about this. I own both. It's actually the first time I hear about a fire incident with both. Should i be worried? Its my 4th Audi in 7 years and probably 100th Samsung phone.

Well, don't leave your phone in the car - either one of them catches fire, you will have an anomaly where they both go up in flames . . .

Apparently not according to some older threads on the topic. The only solution recommended was a Control surface.

Thanks John - I had not taken the time to search because I was doing some work and the question popped into my head.   I do own a Control surface, but the project I was working on, I never use the control surface with it.  Never the less, thanks for answering my question.

I will seek out those older threads and see what they were talking about back then . . .

    Thanks,

  6. I want to be able to jump to a designated track number via  a command such as the "G" (for time movement - now time).

I already know that <shift>+ <home>  or <shift>+ <end> will get me to the first or last track.   Lets say that I have 80 tracks and want to jump to track 52, is there a method to do this.  I looked and did not see a "Go To Track" command (such as "G" for time).

If there is not a control like that does anyone think it would be helpful to their workflow?  I find that it is kinda curious that here might not be such a command.

    Thanks,

Not a game stopper by any means but ....

After the install of the latest update (from an open cakewalk project), the installer took me to a bandlab page (https://www.bandlab.com) instead of the release notes page (like I would expect).   What is up with that?  . . .

I like to report that the installer for this last update (2022.02)  did take me to the proper page (release notes) this time (even though no response to to the OP)

Ah perfect, I see what you mean yep. That's more of a "cosmetic" thing on the website that we'll fix eventually after we add more functionality. Also, as mentioned in my previous comment, we'll add continual scrolling instead of multi page products to make it easier to view

Very Cool . . .   Thanks for checking out my comment

Hi there, I'm not too sure what you mean, can you provide more detail?

When you make your selection, you are presented with a page (grid style).   If there a full page, then you would scroll down to reach the bottom.   Once there you can select the next page to view.   The page now loads with your view at the bottom of the page (grid) and now you have to scroll up to the top to start your scan of offerings.

I find this counter intuitive for viewing.

    Do this:

1 - Log into your site (should already be populated with deals)

2 - scroll down to the bottom of the page

3 - select "Next Page" or page number.

You should now be at the bottom of the new page.   I would find it more useful to have the new page load and be at the top of the page.    By placing me at the bottom, I will now have to scroll up to the top, then down to the bottom.   Since I'm going down, I will encounter the selection (which after the selection would bring me back to the top of the next page)

It that a bit clearer?   Let me know

    Thanks,

  10. First the quick answer:

The "Master" is just an output buss that is named "Master".  All you need to do is add a new buss, set the output (the drop down under IN/OUT) to the stereo output of you interface.  Then rename the buss to Master.  You will now have a master buss.

    Now the better answer:

When you open up cakewalk, bring up the "Start Screen"  if it is not automatically shown and pick a new project (basic for example) .  This project will already have a "Master Buss" setup in it.   If no start screen, go to the "File" menu and select it.

If you have a  desire to make a custom startup project, set it up as you would like and save it as a "Template" and you will always have the start project  you need to do your work.

This is what I typed into Google

Sorry I implied it, but search this forum . . .   At the top of the page, there is a search box.  You might find what you want.

The process is somewhat straight forward . . .

Get a VST plugin that will play SF2 files - Load it with the sound font you want to use (in Cakewalk) - Use midi to play the sounds

The solution is to use "Save Copy As"  - this will prefix all of the copied wav files with the new project name.

"Save As" does not copy the original wave files.  It just references the original ones, and yes, they need to be exactly the same filename as they were before.

I tried saving both ways and each case the WAV files in the "Audio" folder retained the original names (prefixes)

Also what I saw as a difference was this:

The "SaveAs" version,  the project is now the "Copied" (new name) project.

The "Save Copy As", the current project loaded is still the old one and if you wanted to access the new name, you would have to open that project.

So, assuming you're using the default "Copy all audio with Project" you'll get the following:

    C:\Cakewalk Projects\Prairie dogs on the Wing\
        - contains  Prairie dogs on the Wing.cwp
    C:\Cakewalk Projects\Prairie dogs on the Wing\Audio\
        - contains new copies all your project audio files

@msmcleodI understand that part of "SaveAs",  What I'm asking specifically is:

The Audio file(s) under the "Audio" sub-folder (directory)  have the original original project "name" associated with them (in this case "Project 1") - "Do those files have to remain named as they were originally so as to be properly be  associated with the tracks in the project"?  Is there no way to change the WAV files names/track association.

I'm assuming that the case is they would have to be as the original . . .  but I want to know for sure . . .

    Thanks for your response,

    Syphus

  14. This question is a bit technical . . .

The question comes up occasionally, "I started my project without a proper name, but now I have one, how do I change this in the project folder  . . . .

The answer I have seen is:  Do a "SaveAs" with the "save audio with project" box checked off . . .  But I noticed something.

Say I start a project as "Project 1"  and now I want to Change it to "Prairie dogs on the Wing".   I do a "SaveAs" and  now the folder and the cakewalk file are renamed.  As look into the files under the new folder, I notice that the WAV files, in the audio folder,  are named with "Project 1".   Example shown below:

          Project 1, Track 4, Rec (29).wav

Do these files have to remain the same name as when they were originally created?   Can they be renamed?

My first thought is, "How does The DAW know what audio files to use?"   If I change them,  does the DAW not know what tracks they belong to?

Normally I would not care as long as the file still functions (as a newly rename project).   But what if you needed to identify them such as in "cleaning up audio".  Would they still be associated with "changed name"

It has got me curious . . .   Is there an answer?    Please let me know

    Thanks,

    Syphus
