  1. tecknot's post in Audio Engine Won't Turn Back On was marked as the answer
Hi Flubb and welcome to the Cakewalk forums.
Just one thing I can think of, what output is your Master buss set to?  It should be set to your sound card/audio interface.  After changing driver mode can change to the Master output (to none).
    Kind regards,

    Hi Bill,
Looks like you are looking at two different directories.  The one where the file was saved is under *Molly & Chris* and the other where you are searching is *M&C*.   Perhaps you can copy the directory string from the Associated Audio Files dialog.

  3. tecknot's post in Do I need an audio interface for my laptop? was marked as the answer
Hi notato8 and welcome to the Cakewalk forums.
If you are getting serious with recording into Cakewalk, then it is strongly advised to incorporate an audio interface.  A preamp is not an audio interface.  They are usually one or two channels; however, higher quality audio interfaces do have preamps.  An audio interface can have a USB, firewire (obsolete) or thunderbolt interface.  The words "interface" and "sound card" can be used interchangeably.
You don't necessarily need an audio interface with MIDI since you can buy a controller or keyboard with MIDI over USB.  However, consider an interface with MIDI if you have an older synth or keyboard/controller that has MIDI but not USB.
I am not aware of any audio interface with Bluetooth, so most likely you will not be able to use BT headphones, nor your laptop's built-in speakers with an audio interface in any case.
There are a few other factors that can affect latency, so having a "good" audio interface (with excellent ASIO drivers) will not guarantee low latency.  First understand that you will always have some degree of latency, whether you can discern it or not.  Other factors can be your CPU, HDD speed, memory, buffer settings and interface (USB, firewire or thunderbolt), not to mention any plugins you may use.
So it is a bit complicated, but not impossible.  I have used a gaming laptop for audio recording with good success.  I believe you would be better off with an audio interface, but that also means speaker/monitors, more cords and power consumption.  It is certainly worth considering how serious your hobby is/will be and your budget.
Feel free to ask any further questions regarding your DAW setup.
    Kind regards,

  4. tecknot's post in How to apply audio effect on midi? was marked as the answer
    Hi Rudransh,
Are you using and instrument track for your MIDI or do you have an audio track paired with your MIDI track?  If you are using the former then split the track so that you see an audio track for your MIDI.  In the corresponding audio track you should be able to insert your audio effect in the fx bin.

  5. tecknot's post in How to remove mouth noises (weird saliva sounds) from a vocal track?? was marked as the answer
Sorry, Vivian.  I thought you said you could remove the noises in Audacity.   You can cutout the offending noise by making splits and removing/delete the offending clips.  You could do the same in Cakewalk.  You can also try using the EQ  by making a notch with the Q setting and sliding to and throw with the Frequency knob to isolate the noise.  Once you find the noise, lower the volume of the frequency and that should eliminate much of the sound for you.  This takes a good ear so start with a bit wider notch and narrow it once you get closer to the offending noise.

  6. tecknot's post in Record from Yamaha Motif XF on USB was marked as the answer
Hi Diego and welcome to the Cakewalk forums.
The only way to record the audio (sounds) from your Motif is to connect the audio outputs your computer via an interface.  Unfortunately, the only signal coming out of your Motif's USB cable is digital (MIDI).
As for the VST problem, what type of VSTi's do you have available?  Do you see your Motif as an available input device in your MIDI track?
    Kind regards,

  7. tecknot's post in Is there a way to downgrade to the last update? was marked as the answer
You can only go back to a previous version if you had already saved a previous version somewhere.  That is, you will not find an earlier version available for download from BandLab.
As for your popping sounds, have you checked your projects bit depth and sample rate with that of your interface/sound card?  They should match.
    Kind regards,
