Yes - I've tried the demo of Ample Bass upright. I thought it was excellent. I'm also a big of the EZBass midi editor and the midi packs. I ended getting Orange Tree's Pear Bass for $20 in the last sale. I'll probably use EZBass when setting up backing tracks for quick jam sessions and Pear Bass when producing more finished work. I may write a Kontakt script to translate the key switched between the two programs.

The EZKeys piano offerings are the real substandard product. Yes they sound like a piano, but there are so many far superior VST pianos out there. That said, EZKeys is a very useful musical composition tool. I guess the bottom line is that you have the best ear for and are most critical of the actual instrument that you play.

Doing a bit of research, it appears that Toontrack released the EZKeys midi 6 pack shortly after they released their 12th EZKeys midi pack. If Toontrack follows this pattern, then an EZBass midi 6 pack can't be too far off.

Falcon Expansions?! The only thing I can say about Falcon Expansions is that I seem to have an insatiable desire for more! I'm pretty sure that this will be the best deal of the year for these. There are some really good new releases.

Finally a sale on EZBass midi! I’ve been waiting a long time for this. The big question now is should I wait even longer and hold out for the EZBass midi 6 pack that is inevitable going to be released. When it is finally released, Time+Space will likely sell the 6 pack for $99. Hmmm… delayed gratification to save $39 at a future unspecified date…

A little flavor of NY Studio Vol 2... A good SDX and the price is right with the sale. That said there is a lot of overlap with the Ludwig kits and snares included Legacy of Rock which is a better SDX...

I bought my copy of Legacy of Rock during the last BestService.com savings event which had a $30 savings coupon for products costing at least $149. That combined with some saved up BestCoin brought the price down to a more reasonable $110. The twice a year BestService event is the only way I know of to get a discount on the newer SDX's.

I'd wait and save up for Legacy of Rock. Both New York volume 2 and Legacy of Rock are heavily focused on classic Ludwig kits. Legacy of Rock sounds amazing and has a lot more options.

I’ve heard very good things about the Modern U. The only upright piano I currently own is Native Instrument’s The Gentleman. I hardly ever use it. 90% of my time is spent with the Garritan Concert Grand CFX. That said, a good upright has a certain intimacy that a concert grand does not have. It seems like the Modern U would be a significant upgrade over The Gentleman. Any guesses if the Modern U will be cheaper on BF?
