Indeed. As I read it, it seems that Moog was in deep trouble and for some time. So it could have been a case of rigorous measures or going down. That doesn't mean that InMusic is a white savior. But in this particular case not really the bad guy. More of a necessary 'evil'?

Well, not so great news. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but I guess it's done. Get your Moogs second hand people. My prediction (as if that's worth something after my 'wait and see comments ?) is that the 'made in Asheville' products will be in higher demand than the 'made in Asia' stuff. https://synthanatomy.com/2023/09/inmusic-has-fired-a-large-portion-of-the-moog-staff-a-sad-day-for-synth-industry.html

I decided to use the 909 kit in the TR-8S, which is always a good choice. Full analog jam, no samples or VSTi's. I'm slowly getting the hang of doing drums live together with the rest. Enjoy!

And they gave me ANOTHER thank you coupon this morning. Which is only fair because I bought the Pultec collection. But they did it as a reply to my already solved ticket. Ah well...

Klevgrand - Get ready for a really nice deal on 26.09.2023
Nick Blanc replied to Frank's topic in Deals
I use Fosfat and DAW Casette all the time. I also have those percussion things but don't use them that often. I'm still waiting until Knorr gets a discount. -
Got the coupon AND a 20% first purchase code extra (?), so €12,60 for the Pultec collection.
-
Just mailed them, I seem to not have gotten a code either with my dbx purchase. We will see. As you and mibby said, $14 for the UA Pultec, why not. Could at least be an interesting shootout with the Softube ones.

It's always funny to me that 'they' (I see it with more composers on the youtubes) have all this gear, 1000's of dollars for a Doepfler keybed, motorized faders left and right, analog consoles, etc. And then a € 50 Korg NANOkontrol 2 for dynamics and such ?

Don't mind the thumbnail. You basically HAVE to do it. Anyway, melodic, driving techno, I am really pleased with this one. It all fits together. I'm using the TR-8S more and more and it works great. This time I layered it with the Drumbrute Impact and that sounds awesome. The PWM Malevolent sounds great, the melody with the Sub37 also. Happy ?

Yup, fun one indeed. Bought it!

Depends on how you define 'high standards'. If that standard would be that it must fit perfectly beneath a Behringer 2600 in a 19"rack, well let me present exhibit A that it is the best keyboard known to man ?

I have the M32 (as a cheap 2nd hand) just for playing desktop synths and sounddesign. When I'm in my synth corner I can't reach for my usual midi controllers on my desk. I really like the feel of the keys. I can't think of any features I feel like missing right now. It picked up the transport controls for Ableton in an instant.

Ah yes, Rob Papen has a great policy of adding new plugins for free to the bundle. I'm still on 7, and my upgrade is €74 which gives me Blue 3, Bit 2 and Lowsane. I might do that on Black Friday.

Roland TR-8S & TR-6S Rhythm Performers get major feature update
Nick Blanc replied to satya's topic in Deals
Thanks for the heads-up. I remember updating my TR-8S was a bit of a pain. Let's see if this update is worth the hassle. -
I'm easily coerced into frivoless audio thingies. Gainmatching was a bit of a b*tch, but the UA and Waves sound very similar. The NA was the odd one out to me. That one sounds more compressed at exactly the same settings (besides output gain). Native Instruments: NA160.mp3 Universal Audio UA160.mp3 Waves Waves160.mp3 You be the judge. I just made a percussion rich loop with some melodic elements and the DBX on the master (followed by a Pro L te prevent any peaks, but I don't think I overshot 0db.

Rob Papen always has good stuff. But I'm not sure I need another lo-fi maker/bitcrusher.

I TOTALLY forgot about the NI/Softube one. So now I have 3 DBX160's in total and I'm down €22. Good thing I stoppped drinking for the next 3 months, that should save me the money.

I followed one of my other academic prowess...not attending ? -
Worked, thanks! I like the sound of the DBX and this is a nice replacement for the Waves one.

I don't do well in heat. So this was more torture than fun. You can see the sweat coming through the back of my shirt during the jam. Couldn't be bothered to setup the cameras right, one died during the jam because it overheated. Had to do 3 takes because I bit off a bit more than I could chew. Well, not really, but when I do a lot (sculpting, arranging and drums) at the same time, I need some practise runs to figure out the difficult parts. But it was too hot. On the other hand, still haven't fixed the USB issue with the MS20 mini, which gave me the idea to use the SQ1, which in turn steered the entire jam in the techno direction.

iZotope Music Production Suite 6 is here - update from V5 for $41.16
Nick Blanc replied to ralfrobert's topic in Deals
Yes I am, version 1.14. I think I didn't upgrade because people were having issues. I just upgraded and there it was. Bit weird. -
I see the Pure products as having 2 things going for them which made me buy them while owning the big brothers: - Quick setup. I do a lot of studio jams for Youtube and Soundcloud and I'm not going to spend 2 days EQ-ing and compressing everything. 2 hours max (in total!). I also don't need it to be perfect, just good enough. - If I like where it is going AND I have the time to go deeper and tweak, I can. White Sea is right about a desired feature, namely transporting your 'Pure' setting to the 'Smart' plugin. That would be awesome. Should it be included/free? I don't think so. They may do sort of the same, but the purpose is very different imo.
