  1. I'm sorry, I'm out of ideas for titles. But the jam is cool! I look cool too 😝
  2. This is weird territory. Do I own my voice? If someone decides to replicate my voice to create a hit record (I'm Britney y'all!), do I get a slice of the pie? Do I get the whole pie if it is done without my consent?
  3. Interesting stuff. But I will be holding out for BF.
  4. Allright, besides the cheesy thumbnail which you apparantly have to do, this was actually a pretty tough one. I decided to do several things live, playing a synth (the 2600), live arranging, controlling the send levels and the usual filter adjustments. Usually I just hit record and away we go! But this was the first time I did multiple test runs to get a feel for what I had to do where and when. I was pretty happy and proud I eventuall got it all in 1 take. Enjoy!
  5. Nice! Ohmicide is actually on my wishlist.
  6. That's a colouful way to describe electronic versus acoustic πŸ˜†. Deadmau5 made this comment in regards to the concept of tuning your kicks. What followed was a minutes long rant how ridiculous the argument was. But it's a bit semantics. In an acoustic setting, the bassdrum produces kick and bass. So there is overlap and you (generally) want that deep punch from the bassdrum. In electronic music, it very much depends on the genre. Techno also has that deep bassdrum, so the kick is often a deep thud with a lot of bass. I usually do sidechaining first and then Trackspacer to clean up. When doing more popular EDM, I regard the kick as just a transient. It should hit hard and cut through everything. Because the kiddo's have to hear it on their phone speakers. Trackspacer won't solve a lot in the low end there. But still pretty useful in the mids.
  7. Thanks for figuring it out. I suspected as much. Bought it for this reason. Should be a handy tool. I use a lot of de-essing in my productions, but mostly on non vocal stuff.
  8. When you go through checkout, you can get Echo Vibe for $5 as well. The demo didn't convince me that it would add to the other 57 delays I already have. So I skipped that and I will tell myself tomorrow that lunch will basically be free.
  9. https://audioassault.mx/products/doubletake Basically a vocal doubler (up to 4 voices), drift, tightness and dry wet. Pretty basic but the YouTube demo sounds pretty impressive for such a simple tool. This will get you very quick to a very decent punt.
  10. This pushed me over the edge to get the SSL De-esser.
  11. I keep forgetting about DMG! I have Tracklimit and perhaps even Trackcomp 2 (have to check when I'm home). Those are great products.
  12. *Deadmau5 rant mode on: kicks make kicks. Bass makes bass!
  13. That relative threshold seems useful. I'm no expert on de-essers, so are there any other that do that? I got a couple, so maybe I'm already set.
  14. I don't know, I could make my ex sing with one finger... ....indicating the tempo of course πŸ˜‡
  15. Doing a weekly jam leaves you blank for good or catchy titles. So here it is, I've offically run out of ideas. For titles, not for jams. Well a bit, but still, enough to explore. Pretty soon I will have my new setup running and I will be diving into the drummachines some more. That should be fun. In the meantime, enjoy!
  16. You are a more patient man than me πŸ˜‡
  17. Simple Opera Singer is surprisingly useful.
  18. New sunday, new livejam. I messed up the zoom on 1 camera, but now you can see my awesome koala buckethat better. Turned out a pretty decent jam. I'm experimenting with a bit of a change in thumbnails, let's see how Youtube likes that.
  19. It's actually part of my workflow in Ableton. I play around and when I hear something that catches my ear I hit MIDI capture.
  20. As an answer to the topicstarter, no finances are not really an issue for me per se. I consider myself very lucky to have an incredibly stable job, low pressure/stress and a very decent pay. Combine that with very low living costs (I got very lucky with the market to buy my house when I did) and I have a pretty sweet setup. So, all is well? No. Costs of living are rising, that's a concern. I make a conscious choie to avoid going to bars every weekend. I don't eat out / order in. I go out to lunch once a week. I walk around in clothes that are years old. Etc. But I'm cutting back on software purchases and focussing more on the hardware side. I have no interest anymore in the next vari-mu emulation. I'm not saying I won't ever buy another plugin (I just bought the Sonible gate because I only have the Kilohearts one). I do however would like to own a Prophet at some point. And I won't get there by buying 7 EQ's a month.
  21. It can reduce / cut out the drunken screams of a friend who was falling from the couch while you tried to record a vocal. Myself being far from sober, left on the metronome which could be heard in the recording, so a frequency specific gate came in handy. So for me, fixing stuff which shouldn't need fixing or a creative tool. You can use a gate in sidechain and 'reverse' mode to trigger the volume of a synth channel everytime a drum hits.
  22. Hello everyone! Something different this time. I hope you like it. It's hard to describe what it is. Is it techno? A bit. Is it electro, well yes but just a bit. Is it a bit cyberpunk-ish? Maybe? And I got a cool new hat for my birthday! Enjoy!
  23. Almost forgot to purchase. Wanted to do it on friday because that's my 'software day'. That would have been bad. Got the Nylon and Hollowbody.
  24. If by 3D you mean stereo wooshing and 'back-and-forthing', yes.
