  1. The project folder (normally) contains everything, so just delete that. Anything outside the folder you probably don't want deleting without checking it first. The project name will still exist in the file menu's recent projects list, but can be ignored.
  2. It can take a long time to set up all the meters up in cakewalk to a particular range and response. How can I save the meter settings and load them into another project?
  3. Is it possible you are accidentally massively over-compressing it? - that can cause an overload on starting and resuming. Bypass the compressor and see if it still happens.
  4. I've not had a problem so far. I was a little worried because I forgot I was in the middle of working on a track that used V4, and I had uninstalled V4. However, V5 has built-in backwards compatibility and is designed so it sounds/operates identically to V4 until you do a redetect (which activates the separate sibilance control). So I didn't need to do anything to my project, which loaded up just fine even though there were regions still active and unrendered in the project. In summary, I cant guarantee that it will work OK for you but it's working fine for me as I type this (I'm using it to change the formant sound on a bass synth of all things...)
  5. That's perfect!! But my goodness I wish I'd have been smart enough to ask that question *before* I spent over two hours doing this! 🙂 (and before anyone says RTFM take a look at the page count these days... 😉 ) Thanks scook, that's definitely going to save me SO much time in future!
  6. Brilliant - Thanks guys! - Now sorted! - and since that original thread, the preferences in Chrome are more specific (and thus, more secure) in this respect.
  7. When importing stem tracks supplied by someone else from a project in a different DAW, I'd like to be able to (e.g.) right-click on the recording, click on an option, and have cakewalk delete the silence when an instrument is not playing, or a performer isn't singing for example. Is there a function like that? Manually doing it is very time consuming - but necessary in order to get a good visual map of the song.
  8. This is probably an FAQ, but I haven't found anything yet. Q: How do I get the missing images in Cakewalk online documentation. All the pictures are coming up broken for me, like this: ================================================================== ================================================================== In some cases it doesn't matter - but a lot of the time the images are crucial to understanding what to do. Has anyone else had this? How did you fix it? J.
  9. OK - I think I've solved this myself - it appears that you cannot automate effects plugins within Komplete Kontrol, only the VST instrument. It's not the end of the world - obviously the same effects can be added in the Cakewalk channel's effect rack instead, and automated from there. The issue is the same within Ableton Live (11). It's because effect parameters (unlike instrument parameters) are not in the list of parameters which Komplete Kontrol exposes to the host. Actually, the Instrument parameters aren't exactly easy to find either! 🙂
  10. You've got the "Ripple Edit" button switched on in the top-right of the Tracks View.
  11. Can anyone tell me how to record automation for the knobs in the Komplete Kontrol host VST? I mean (in this example) these three gray knobs at the top: I've tried everything I can think of, and done a lot of googling, but can't find anything relevant. I just want these controls to appear as automation lanes for the track this is on. Thanks in advance, J.
  12. The Automation Write icons in my project seem to have a little black "T" on them - what does this mean? Thanks in advance, Jeremy.
  13. None of the above suggested solutions worked for me (just spent an hour trying to fix!) but I found that doing the following quick fix worked for me: Copy any large event to a place on any track that spans from the "correct" end point to the bogus end point or beyond. Select Ripple Edit All from the dropdown in the top-right of the clips view. Delete the event you just created. - and that's it! (at least for me) Don't forget to turn Ripple Edit back to OFF - I'm sure you've all had the 'amusement' of seeing what carnage that causes if left on by mistake.
  14. Apologies in advance for such a basic question, but I cannot find an answer to this in either the online documentation or the reference manual. What is the terminology for - and in indeed the function of - the difference between selecting a track by clicking on its number, and selecting it by clicking on its title? - they are clearly quite different things, but it is not clear to me what the difference is.
  15. When I use the media browser, the menu contains duplicate entries of some locations, with a menu separator: What is the reason for these duplicates?
  16. In the list of VST instruments, my instruments are listed in orange and have an orange icon next to them. However some are listed in light gray and one is listed in green. Is there a reference somewhere for what these different colored instrument listings mean?
  17. Sorry, but: 1. They are quite demonstrably linked clips. 2. Yes, you can most certainly edit MV clips on the fly - and any copies in the timeline get updated appropriately. You can double click any instance in the timeline, edit it, and the MV clip will update (unless you are playing it at that time - hence my question) Perhaps you are using an earlier version where these features do not work? Anyway, my question is, why do you need to stop the MV clip, and then immediately play it again in order for such edits to take effect? Anyone know? - Is this a bug?
  18. Apologies if this is an FAQ (I didn't see one relating to this) I can get the step sequencer working fine for clips on tracks - no problem. However, when I use the step sequencer to edit a cell in the matrix view (i.e. by double-clicking on such a cell) then my new step sequencer edits don't take effect until I stop the cell and then restart it. Surely it must be possible to step edit cell contents live without having to stop/start like this - is there a setting that I need to enable? Thanks in advance, Jeremy.
