Terrific song and performances! This may just be me, but I'd like to hear the lead vocal up a few db's. Otherwise, this is a hit waiting to happen.

Jesse, before you go off into the wild blue yonder, this tune raised the bar for me. I've always thought your guitar playing is understated but excellent. Your understanding of scales is off the charts, therefor, it takes a bit of having a taste for the bizarre, yet you're right on the money! Love it!

I'm going to try your idea in a little while. I'm still looking for that balance between speakers and headphones. Bjorn, this is high praise coming from you, my friend! As you can see above, I'm still getting good suggestions and will be trying them out in a little while. I do think it's getting closer to the mark, but I DO love mixing... (the forest is larger today)

I've taken all your suggestions and remixed this just now. I beefed up the drums and redid some parts to tighten it up, I hope. I also added some "ghost" reverb on the lead vox and delay in certain sections. OK, thanks guys! More time mixing today! One note: I did intentionally leave out the kick and snare until halfway through verse one, and may yet keep this feature. What do you think?

Thanks for the tips! I am trying to keep everything clean and in its place, but maybe too conservative in my approach. I'll be trying out your ideas.

Kevin, I really like this song, and I think it's well played and the high energy comes through in spite of the heavy reverb. Sometimes when an element like your lead vocal is heavily effected, other elements like your guitars and drums can be dry, and the mind will still hear the reverb on everything. The way I hear it now sounds like every track went through the same reverb and has the same level of depth. Maybe reduce the reverb on some of the tracks? All in all, this still rocks!

Both the music and video are mesmerizing! I particularly like the stereo separation and the drum work. I like the way the vocals morph from f/x to clarity throughout. I always learn something from you.

Another fine example of your brilliant song writing and singing! This takes me back to the days of Gerry Rafferty. Overall, it seems a bit trebly and shy in the low end, but it still has a lot of magic.

Tom, thanks for your advice! The instrument is called UDU MEINL in a Toontrack percussion pack. I've never used it before, and after going over the song with a fine-toothed comb, I think I know where it works and where it doesn't. I'll be working on this tomorrow, and I really appreciate your ears and kind words.

Bjorn, this hits me on a visceral level, unlike other songs I've heard from you. It seems dark and sinister, therefor, cinematic, and ready for a movie or documentary. Though I've been incommunicado for a while, I've heard most of the songs you posted lately, and you've been keeping the beat going for a long time!

I think I've heard you sing before, but this is a pleasant surprise. Your voice reminds me very much of the late Richard Wright, and the whole song has a dreamy, Pink Floyd vibe that I like. Of course, the mix is great! Thumbs up!!
