  1. Cheers Nigel, iv'e not watched the Bourne films but will now haha Not really listened to Moby for years but did have 3 or 4 tracks years ago on my ipod for running which was natural blues, porcelain and why does my heart or something like that. Apparently hes a good guitar and base player phil
  2. HyPe Train.. Been setting my Novation Launchkey 25 MKIII controller up and it's assisted with the automation on synths and FX. The free software with the controller is something else 🙂 Give us a follow on Youtube and i will follow back
  3. I will 3rd the Squier by Fender J or P the Affinity range i do believe I also have a SGC Nanyo SB 300 series bass guitar which is my go to bass, not sure how much in USA but they do great bass full active and passive and you can pick them up cheap second hand for 200-300 dollars in USA
  4. I have the 25key Launchkey MK3 version have you got transport or worked out to assign the custom knobs like the tempom and swing knobs i want to map them to a couple of synthmaster EZ knobs
  5. Anyone Got the Novation Keylab 25. Ive had to install the Novation USB driver which sorted the first problem, so now all my inputs and output are good. I have now managed to calibrate the controller to use keys with pitch and mod. I am wondering if anyone as cakewalk custom modes or mapping templates to get more use out of pads etc or is this a long process i need to work out haha
  6. My friend is giving me his M-Audio Oxygen 25 V as hes upgrading to more keys and i already have keys . He says it has pitch and mod with knobs for filters so sounds like do the trick
  7. Anyone using M-Audio Oxygen Pro Mini 32? ive read only works with Pro Tools and Studio > Honestly its given me head ache. Not to fused about the keys, more so needed for work flow for pitch/Mod Wheel then to fine tune after with automation, simple pads and buttons. Something maybe with presets and doesn't break easy, Nektar Impact do list cakewalk Also looking at The Novation Mini MK III Akai Mini MK3 Nektar Impact LX MINI Native In KK A25 MiniLab 3
  8. Yes i was thinking more of a keyboard with some basic preset mapping. You make the Arturia KEYLAB MK11 or the Essential seem the best option even though ive heard the Novation Impulse is pretty much the same with mapping
  9. AKAI Professional MPK Mini looks like a little jem to be fair now you mention AKAI. i will still use they full set of weight keys on my Yamaha electric piano i already have mapped with peddle, its perfect for playing, full-size and full action next to my desk which i just wheel over to on my chair or pick my guitar up. I just need something compatible with cakewalk, minimum pads to add fx sounds or percussion/drum hits on few pads when jamming so I'm not programming midi all the time. Thereby, something with pitch, mod and filter wheel knobs or buttons with a few assignable. The rest i will do in daw as i am not really a EDM producer but i play keys, Guitar and bass with some singing but ive been expanding with electronic integration and upbeat dance vibe. So sometimes with adding automation i would like to do some by assigning to controller wheel or knobs etc to test and jam a ideas in real time. If i want something phasing or a filter wave mod etc so im not going into the automation programming with nodes when i can probably just turn a knob in real time with automation write getting it spot on with timing or close then i can tweak them in daw later if you understand what im saying haha I was messing doing a gradual pitch with automation the other day and wasted ages which takes 1 second if i had a pitch wheel lol
  10. Food for thought for sure, so provably between the Arturia MkII and Novation Impulse which is £150 difference in price but sounds like the extra is worth it. I want it more as a go to as i do my automation with programming but be good to jam with it on a controller.
  11. Just a quick question to what people use as i am thinking of a new keyboard controller 49-61 keys. This is my list what iv'e narrow it down too but i could have missed one out. . Here's my first place which i believe i prefer. Anyone use these with cakewalk? 1: Novation Impulse 61-49 key version sounds the best all rounder. 2: Nektar Panorama P6 (seems expensive) 3: Arturia KEYLAB 61 Iv'e also looking at M_Audio and Akai but few people say they break easy but not sure Any experiences and opinions welcome for easier work flow and obviously we are the main instrument so maybe something that gets our juices going.....
  12. Thanx Esther bit of EDM next .... HyPe Train
  13. Thank you Nigel, was one of those days when i had no ideas and just went a long with the feeling. Like the new album, just been watching the new YouTube you done and my phone battery went dead half way through grrr listen again later
  14. did a little experimental track
  15. love songs are difficult unless you really feeling it or end up being cheesy.. this is not cheesy
  16. Burning in the shadows, short little tune of experimental ideas with some sound design and i probably should have done more singing and not spoken. However excuse the video, i don't like it, banged it together for something to watch whilst you listen top the tune.
  17. Thank you, i try and get my logo in there, gives me something to aim for haha
  18. If someone can't write banging tunes and create good music using Cakewalk, i don't think it is the DAW to be fair
  19. Friend does use Pro Tools, he was put off with Cakewalk because it was free and what "some" people say but he has since seen me using Cakewalk firsthand, editing midi, creating my own samples, recording and comping, my libraries and my range of plugins including the stock. Yep he could believe it. Due to it being free and so good, all the other DAWS manufacture's attack it and probably pay for people to spread bollox. Another friend uses Logic on a Mac because they like everything mac. Iv'e been giving some productions lesson and some tips, so hes like how you do that on logic and i just find they made quite a few things on logic long winded and no logical in that irony. People don't realise how good cakewalk is in reality
  20. Little demo on next song idea https://www.facebook.com/reel/952161109088709/?s=single_unit
  21. I would for sure use a vocal bus, simple solution. If you also use any FX on vocal tracks and dependent on how you use a bus don't forget he FX can send to master a stronger signal than your main track depending on your wet/dry mix settings on FX, same again if you using fx on bus and you are send your track to master and bus because the bus will send back to master. You could have a few things going on from your explanation. If duplicating your lead vocal you would set a bus different to having a lead vocal and backing tracks. If you are just adding warmth, air and life to a lead vocal by duplicating the lead track i would do it on a vocals room lead bus. Sometimes its not good to duplicate, some people do it for the sake of it which can ruin a vocal because you get phasing and bleeding which then you may loose the personality and bits in your voice
  22. Yes i have this one but its a hungry plugin and from time to time it does cause the odd issue on my system which a reload always sorts
  23. thank you so much for the complement, i still will try harder on next track but maybe a little break as im training someone to use cakewalk from the beginning who knows nothing at all, its actually fun. We haev progressed on to stage gaining now from recoding levels and audio haha
