Hi,
Just got a weird crash, doing the following, when rewriting the music in a project:
- Select All
- Wipe
- Crash
Weird part: the tempo of the project was changed to 8 bps prior to the crash. Before this update, when you selected all and then wiped, the tempo remained unchanged. Am I missing something?
Enclosed the minidump.

Hello Guys,
Is it possible to somehow move back to the previous version, i.e. 2021.01? The latest one doesn't work well on my PC...
Thanks,
Jan
Hi -
Yes: you con revert using the link in the main page of this update, under "Should you need to revert to the 2021.01 release, you can download the Cakewalk 2021.01 Rollback installer" -

Thank you. Yes, I saw that readme. It just says "If you're using already one of the named interfaces without any trouble, there is no need to install this driver." Since the OP was setting up a new computer, I assume he did not have any driver installed, so the logical one to use would be the newest one, right?
Note to @Tom Ham: Did the 4.59 driver work for you?
Yes, you are right - it's not suggesting to use 4.59 instead of 5.0 - my mistake.
Anyway, I did a few tests, and here are the results:
Driver 5.0 working just fine.
I did uninstall completely both drivers: 4.59 driver and ASIO4ALL - Restart PC - Install 5.0 driver - Restart PC
So far, everything is working just fine.

The only documentation I found on the Behringer website is a PDF "Quick Start" guide, and in there I can't find where the manufacturer makes this recommendation. May I ask where you found it?
Sure: it's in the ReadMe file when you download the 5.0 driver.
Enclosed a copy if it helps.

Did you install the ASIO driver from the Behringer's support page under downloads?
https://www.behringer.com/downloads.html
And make sure you install the right one for your system.
I have the UMC 404HD model and works perfectly well with the 4.59 version.
The 5.0 version didn't work at all, and the manufacturer recommends installing this one only if the other doesn't work.
See screenshot.

Yes, sometimes it happens to me too, but not all the times.
There is a workaround: open Task Manager - find the cakewalk icon - select it - select End Task .
It should release the driver, so you don´t need to restart your PC.

It's not asking you to create a bundle file.
The cwp file is referencing audio files in the "D:\Bundle Files SONAR\Toy Cantando\Serie 2 Patita Lulu\0207 Balones Perdidos Piratas" directory.
It can't find that directory, so it asks you if you want to create it.
Once it's created, it then (unsurprisingly) can't find the audio inside it.Oh, my mistake then.
Thanks!

Hi Noel.
I switched to Guitar Rig 6 instead of Amplitube, as the later was compromised on the crashes I'm getting.
Unfortunately, got a crash again: this time, after disengaging the solo option within the plugin (Guitar Rig).
Enclosed the minump and the crash window.
Thanks!

@Colin Nicholls Thanks dump shows the crash is while processing arrangement sections. Well fix it for the main release.
Yes. Same here, same steps.

I reverted to 2021.01
Enclosed the crash window and the minidump.
I wonder why I'm getting so many crashes...

@Andres Medina can you provide some more information please? What kinds of envelopes are being used and are you sure that its related to this release? Please send a project file for investigation if possible.
Thanks Noel -
Honestly, I'm not sure that the problem is fully related to this EA version...
Since I upgraded to the EA, I've had like 3 crashes when the audio transforms into noise, like a audio loop at a very very high speed. Usually it happens when editing audio clips in a take lane (selecting clips, editing lenghts and that sort of things)
So, I'll keep working and see if a pattern emerges and will share the corresponding file.
In the meanwhile, I did revert to the latest official release, because I'm in the middle of a project.

I'm getting instability on the audio performance too, apparently when envelopes are involved.
-
I've got another crash.
I'm already working on the 2021.04 Early Access version.
The crash occurred inside takes lanes, when selecting clips while the audio was running.
Enclosed the minidump.

This may be what turned on the enhanced editor. AFAIK, the numbers on the typewriter side of the keyboard should be used for screensets
Thanks!
Yes, I already have assigned the screensets that way: the trouble is that sometimes pressing the numbers invokes the screenset, sometimes it does nothing.

Looks like enhanced keyboard editing was invoked.
mmmm, neveer used it before.
Just checked and apparently the enhance keyboard editing is not active, because it's not associated to a shortcut. See image.
-
By the way, just found out that using the NumPad when assigned to screenshots via shortcuts, doesn't work or work randomly: Sometimes it triggers the linked screenshot, sometimes it doesn't.

Got it:
1. Insert midi or audio track
2. Press NumPad - any number (1,2,3)
Then the grey line appears an moves depending on the number typed.

It is identical. The "PC" in "PC2A" literally stands for "ProChannel." Thats it. I believe Softube had this version of it?
So it's only a Prochannel version of it, like with some Boz plugins and Softube FET and EQ ProChannel versions back in Sonar.
☺
Thanks! I get it now.

Its in the bus compressor. Is this reproducible? If so please PM me the project file and steps.
No luck. I tried to reproduce it without success. The crash occurred just once, and the project is kind of complex, with lots of audio and midi clips, and several Virtual Instruments...
I had inserted multiple PC4k compressors in several buses. One of them was sidechained (the reason I use this particular compressor), the others not.
I'll keep you posted.
Thanks -

Noel, I've got another crash.
This time it seems to be something with Prochannel.
I've got today a mail response from Sean, regarding tha last crash:
"Hello,
Thanks for writing in. The crashes are caused by the PC4K Bus compressor. Could you try replacing that plugin in your project and let us know if this helps?
Thanks,
Sean "May this crash from today has something to do with the compressor again.
Enclosed the crash window and the minidump.
Thanks!

No, I used a shortcut for "wipe tracks", not delete.
I'll send you a copy of the project as soon as I can.
