  1. you can get your refund for tuition minus the application fee, as long as you request the refund early enough, (within first 2 weeks of course). but yeah. you can't upgrade or sell the license. if i am correct, that's how most of these .edu products work. it's better to just crossgrade.
  2. you can easily enroll into an online program, get a student card, buy, then drop out.
  3. Hi, yes, you need Native Access to install and update the VSTs. But you don't need it actually use and run them. Its similar to Arturia's software manager. It just connected to their servers with your account and installs and updates. Re: NI, it does make sense to get the boxed USB drive edition. You would not want to download the entire Komplete catalog over a poor Internet connection or a capped Internet account. BTW.. there are no Kontakt instruments in Community drive. I dont recall seeing any.
  4. no. it just get added to Native Access and you install it from there.
  5. i tried it. its got pretty useable presets and loops. about 10 maschine kits, bunch of massive, monark, prism and skanner presents. all are quite good.
  6. i am not sure. there has been no word on any IKM summer group buy yet. Max is 70% old AT 3 plugins and effects I think. I think one needs to wait for a release statement on when (or if!) AT 5 gets released. Not sure about anything. The guitar VST market is so bloody crowded. IKM are going to have to start making a MAX package deal with elements of Tracks or other product lines to compete. And then there is also the very strong rumor possibility that NI are going to come in swinging with a new version of Guitar Rig. That is going to heat up the guitar VST market space.
  7. there is only one effect i need from max, the swell effect. i cant be arsed to spend $15 on it. from what I read on other forms. the hidden treasures in the legacy AT are: Green BA250 V3M
  8. they had a sale last week or so, it was $99
  9. I just need to know, did they really get a 10/10 award from Music Tech?
  10. i think i will end up getting one of the AAS things that are on sale. i like the warm analogue sound of them.
  11. Reason had a sale not too long ago where you could get Standard upgrade from Lite for slightly more than Intro which was not on sale. I would wait for the sale to come again. I am sure it will. Reason are out to build market share again.
  12. it is the IKM way. the endless pop ups unless you buy everything they have. one learns to work around it. think pks has quite a few virual guitar effects. looking forward to mixing and matching them with my other custom presets. i wsh they had the swell effect in a pkg for free.
  13. interested in this as i quite like the sound on R10 synths. But unfortunate that most of the good ones are not in this lite VST pkg.
  14. Oblesk is great. I almost bought Scalar 2 and this pretty much fills in perfectly. So no need for Scalar 2 unless you really need those advanced scales and chords and whatnot.
  15. cool. so do NI just re-brand other companies products now? what is e-instruments. http://e-instruments.com/
  16. Thanks for useful link. Yeah, i recall reading on various forums about issues with CPU consumption. I think you can kind of tell by the GUI that its going to eat lots of resources. But I guess that's the cost of getting the higher quality sounding guitar sim and the slick GUI.
  17. I have a M1 Le. Damn... lots of dealz happening. Is there a collections v3 scheduled anytime soon or is v2 the latest most recent one?
  18. picked it up. instant buy at this price. i agree about the GUI. it would be good if Waldorf offered a different skin option. but whatever. its a very high end vst synth. sounds like nothing else i have in my collection.
  19. Yes... this! ^^ Tell us what you think of them. I am on fence.
  20. i demoed the Funk and R&B pack. Rig Player shows up as a component.
  21. I am demoing TRU. CPU hit is higher than Guitar Rig. Lower than AT 4. But AT 4 sounds better to my ears. But AT 4 is a much bigger hit on the CPU. I am just comparing Fender Collection 2 with minimal effects.
  22. Really like the idea of the R&B and Funk collection. Those are mainly the sounds I use. I don't know much about TRU Overloud other than people saying it sounds really really good compared to other Amp Sims -- but I don't know it those are mostly heavy metal guys focusing on the metal sounds. I already use NI GR 5, IKM AT 4 and Roland vCOSM and STARK. You all think this is very similar software tech to AT 4 and moving to NeuralDSP might be a move to a different Amp Sim technology? Has anyone compared the performance hit of TRU to AT 4 and NeuralDSP? Just curious?
  23. @Peter - IK Multimedia I guess it might be wishful thinking to ask, if one were to buy into this deal now, would it cout in a group buy if it were to happen in late August?
