The $10 discount code didn't work for me. So I just got the Shultz Spectrum. I already have RedVerb. Haven't really used it yet.
I have over $600 in APD dollars. Mostly because I don't really spend them. And when you do spend them, they give you more back....
ahh.. the gift that keeps on giving

looks interesting. anyone have any thoughts/opinions/comments of Shultz Audio stuff?

I think the drive space required for some products intimidate buyers. Do the Modos require a lot of space,
i am in that boat. i only interested in MODO bass becuase it doesnt use that much space. the others use a ton.

I fail to understand the discussion about price point for Komplete. Its probably the best bang for your buck when it comes to collections of VSTs you can get.

has anyone been able to compare the JC-120 in Dimebag to the one from legendary colleciton? Any big enough difference to warrant the purchase?

Seems its accelerating to the next level. I have still not jumped into the feeding frenzy. No denying there is some very nice stuff on offer for what will be a bargain price but I cant get my enthusiasm up. I demoed MODO bass and drums and as excellent as they are I don't think they would a major addition to my already extensive range of bass and drums sounds. The Hammond is the one but again, while it may be the best, a couple of my other options are not that far behind, particularly when put through IK's Leslie.
So I am still thinking going in at the lowest level an getting a few Syntronic expansions.
I am still sitting back and deciding here. I only demoed MODO Bass and Drums. The Bass sounds really amazing and impressed me a lot. The Drums is very cool but I am not sure I would want to use it instead of the NI Abbey Roads and Drum Labs that I have.
@Peter - IK Multimedia I just feel there isn't enough on a selected. It would be cool if IKM threw something else in for those that don't want big librarires like SamlleTank and Syntronik. It would defiantly make the deal more appealing.

You can only add instruments with Player licenses to the Kontakt Library. As these are no longer available for that drumkit, you'll need the full version of Kontakt to use this (you can still open it without, but it will only demo for 15 mins). You'll need to locate the instrument's .nki file from the Files tab on the left panel and load that.
i tried in full version. no luck.

I don't think the recent change in leadership had anything to do with a fee suddenly being charged for a Player license (which in turn caused Sennheiser to stop offering the Player version of their drumkit) - the Player license has been there for a long time (otherwise, there wouldn't have been so many free-but-requires-full-kontakt libraries in the past).
i tried to test the sennheinser drum kit. it only downloads a zip file with bunch of data folders. i tried adding it to Kontakt library and rescanning and no go. anyone know how to get it to load in Kontakt? i tried mapping /users/shared/drummic and well as /users/shared/drummic/data . no luck so far.

You can't really predict much from corporate mumbo jumbo. There was a rumble that NI may build upon Maschine to make it DAW like and am I def sure they have a new Guitar Rig in the project map. I was part of beta survey. Not sure about other stuff.
What might be in K13?

- straylight
- modular icons and or some of their lame play series.
not really enough to entire upgrade IMO.
the rest of the stuff is just too new. but who knows. anything is possible.

Not sure why someone would want MODO Drum, MODO Bass, and their SE versions. Don't get me wrong, MODO Drum/Bass are great, but their SE versions are just cut down versions; it doesn't make sense to me why someone might want both the 'full' and the 'reduced' versions.
i was thinking more of a case where someone is getting the full versions. i can't see a good reason to get the SE. its only 25% less but has a lot less instruments in each.

I've never seen an IK Group buy not make it all the way. In the past they have extended the time and added additional levels for more freebies.
Rocky
yeah. you are probably right.
as a IKM customer. I think where this deal gets interesting is for people that don't really want sampletank or syntronik because they know they won't use all of it and have a good idea of what they will need. if it hits a 4 for 1 or 5 for 1, using it for individual items would be a real good thing to look into.
for for example: at the $79 level:
- hugh padhham drums
- clavitube
and then some Syntronik items that you know you will use.
You don't blow away hard disk space with stuff you may rarely access and you get only what you want.

If you are lucky this might hit 3 for 1. Looking at MODO series, you are looking at roughly $200 for 4 products -- so $50 each. It adds up to around 75% off sale based on the condition that you buy 4 items.
If I recall, Syntronik and Sampletank were offered on quite steep discounted sales quite a few times this past year.

Yeah. The every mysterious updates by the IKM developers.
"General reliability improvements
+ whatever the latest product they released"
We suspect the updates are to insert the demo of the latest product they are trying to sell.

A suggestion. Some of the Sonic Reality drum kits have been ported to Sample Tank 4. I have most of them for BFD. I love the Hugh Padgham kit in particular.
If you don't have BFD this could be way to get these kits.
and the dumb question of the day from me is, do you get hugh padgham midi type patters n MODO Drum?

First group buy with selection anxiety for me. I’d love the Hammond, Modo Drum and Modo Bass, each of them at $199 value. But what next? Already have SampleTank 4 and other $199 items.
Would be nice if IK could spike the deal by adding their new reverb.Yup. this would be good. But I guess it would require expanding to Tracks 5 product lines.
I am looking at Modo*.* as I like to micro tinker with drums and bass a lot.

Is there a reason to get HALion if you have Kontakt, Omnisphere, and Falcon? I don't really use it when I use Cubase, so I have no idea if there is anything special about it.
FWIW.. I am looking at the Halion upgrade. In my workflow I use the Halion SE plugin and it's piano for the chord track in Cubase exclusively. I find it uses less resources and integrates great. I am looking through the YT videos at what the full version can give you compared to the SE.

Molto modo !!'
I agree with this! ^^
Once it hits 5 for 1, it will be a decent deal. The only problem with this deal is all these products are going to take up a shit load of disk space. The MODO's plus syntronic plus sampletank I am calculating to be at least 250 to 300gb. Maybe more.

You get a lot more for your money to be sure.
Drumlab is a bit of a specialty really if you want to create hybrid sounds so i would not say Slate compared in concept. The Abbey Road drums are probably on a par sound wise.
Thanks. I got used to the Abbey Roads kits and the mixer and being able to separate different drums to different midi channels. I never tried SS Drums but always heard good things about it.

how does this compare to NI Abbey Road or Drumlab?

I might pickup the Modular Icons. I started reading the Bob Moog book and am all giggly about old modular. There are apparently Mark Isham patches in there. Curious to see how they are.
