You were definitely logged in first and hadn't already claimed the license? I found if I wasn't logged in, then I got the same behaviour. But once I registered and signed in, the link worked even though the page had been taken down.

Yes. I first created an account and was already logged in.

Next I installed the application and used the link generated from the standalone to get the license file.

Also tried the direct link for the license that you posted above. But none seem to be working.

I just open Services and disable the ones that don't do anything constructive.

If I'm not sure, I set their startup to manual.

Native Instruments also installs a whole program whose function is to configure their hardware. I uninstall that and it takes the NIHardware service out.

Why don't they just include it among the other programs, instruments and plug-ins in the Native Access app and let people install it if they need it? So then if someone buys a piece of their hardware, they have to install Native Access to get the configuration program, and at that point, they get to install all of the great freebies and see the offers. It's backwards.

I've tried this and also tried disabling services through msconfig so they don't auto launch at startup. However, the services get reset to Automatic launch every time you update the installer or download a product update. Also, the updates don't work unless you have that installer's respective service running in the background.

Having a firewall is really an eye opener on how many times during the day dormant software on your system keep pinging the internet. Windows 10 seems to get triggered with almost anything and everything.

My complaint about Native Access is that when it first installs, and whenever it updates, it installs and enables 3 different services that are only used to connect and configure Native Instruments hardware.

So every time there's an update to Native Access, I have to open Windows' Services app, shut them all down and set them to disabled.

Softube have also started installing and enabling their own "Softube Installer Helper," which I go in and set to manual and only start up when I'm installing Softube updates.

How egotistical do you have to be to assume that it's okay to install a service that's to support products the user doesn't own and/or are only needed during product updates?

I also leave Waves Local Server set to manual. That thing is a joke, all it does is enable the fancier preset browser that was kluged on a few years ago.

I keep getting regular alerts from my firewall for most of these services (including some developers not mentioned by you above) even though no application related to them has been launched by me.

The services are not just auto launching and running quietly in the background. They are actively pinging whatever domain/server that is associated with them.

For me, I got the Mega L yearly subscription at 99$ per year. I get 3 free plugins each year, so I end up at 33$ each and have access to all their stuff all the time.

Has the price for the Mega L gone up? It is showing as $149.99/year on the site now.

t's no looker for sure, but the contrast issue is the biggest problem for me. That and the IK response to the many users asking for this to be improved or  adjustable...it's not our UI it's your monitors.... You mean those monitors that seem to display every other software UI just fine IK? Ok then.......

Dark grey text on a  black background is difficult to read if you are on a laptop with the brightness turned down a bit to protect your eyes.

But even with my dedicated email for music stuff, there’s certain devs/companies that email waaaay too much.  In those cases, they are insta-unsubscribed.

I have been noticing that too. It is quite amazing to see that there are some developers who are sending out an emailer daily, without fail.

  7. I own all of the amps from this suite except one and my upgrade is $39. I've never seen the upgrade go lower than this for me even during BF.

Been wondering if I will gain anything significant in addition to the missing amp if I buy the upgrade. And whether it will be better to wait and buy that individual amp separately on sale (I've picked most of the amps from this suite at around $19 I think).

(I already own the Vintage, Metal and Bass Suites)

24 hours from the last thursday...

    Thanks.

I went back to the email to check again and it appears that the timer is still stuck around the same value. So the deal was probably over anyways when I opened the email.

  9. Didn't work for me.

I went through the link I got in the email, which also had a countdown timer included. That was showing 12 hours still to go.

But when I reached the product page the price was not showing as free.

    Anyone else have this problem?

For those of you who are considering PB freebies, I highly recommend pedals from this bundle (also available individually). These are high quality Marshall pedal emulations.

    https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/81-Bundles/39-Effects-Bundles/7810-The-British-Tanks-Collection

They also stack exceptionally well, which is not always true for real pedals and nearly non-existent in the digital realm.

    A great recommendation.

The individual pedals are often discounted by 50% so each comes down to $10 during sales. But I haven't seen this bundle get discounted proportionately during those periods.

Meaning, the four Marshall pedals on sale add up to 4x10=$40, so purchasing all four separately works out to be cheaper than the bundle, which shouldn't be the case.

Though ofcourse, if you were buying at non-sale prices then the bundle would appear cheaper ($44 vs $80).

Also, you can download a demo which emits noise periodically once the trial expires but it still good enough to give you a feel of the overall product should you be considering purchase.

If you want one, reply Yes

I have 31 to give away, so the first 31 people to reply Yes get one each

(Someone suggested, wisely, that I check whether I'm allowed to give these away, so I asked Yurt Rock, and I received an email today with the go-ahead)

Trying to start the new year on a generous note

I bought The Ultimate Bundle yesterday, which leaves me with 31 duplicate products I've never used

I'll use a random-number generator to decide who gets which item

I was going to post a list of what I have and let people ask for what they wanted, but there was the risk of ending up with one happy person and everyone else frustrated

I figure if I send you one you don't like you can offer to trade it with someone in a similar situation

I'm trusting everyone to play fair and not post or share files; if you get an item, it's for your use and yours alone (or you can trade it without using it)

We've always seemed an honorable bunch; let's live up to that rep

    Happy '24

This is an amazing gesture. When you could have easily chosen to sell these off too.

Hope it comes back manifold to you in this year.

For the record, after a few tries the email never showed up. I tried @e-cue code and it worked.  So if you go to registeer your code e-cue and it doesn't work, sorry. PM me and I'll see if mine ever showed up.   🙃

    -- edit --

Actually, it's on the webpage where you do the stupid spinner thing...

It shows up on the page itself after you enter your email details. Just scroll down after hitting submit.

Out of curiosity I just tried MAmp, but by the sounds of things you have plenty of other stuff to mean that MAmp would just be a waste, even of $9.  It's not very deep.  MTurboAmp is a whole other thing.

(TurboAmp and Cabinet, or even GuitarArchitect) or don't bother at all.  Especially if you have loads of other stuff already.  Rant over!

That helps me decide. Thank you. I guess I'll pass for now.

I don't think I want to spend another $99 on GuitarArchitect right away.

But since the sale is on for another 11 days maybe I can revisit the purchase depending on how much money I have spent on other deals by then.
