We recommend that users who had previous versions of SONAR install that and its related content first, then install Cakewalk by Bandlab. Then you'll have access to all your previous content in the latest version of the app. SONAR Platinum/Professional/Artist can still be downloaded and installed via Cakewalk Command Center.

Right. I have them all. I was asking for my growing community that don't have access to see if there was a work around for them to gain access.

  2. What’s up fellow fader finalgers?!

I recently hosted a live event where I took a clients mix and performed EQ adjustments Live. Thought it might be helpful for some.

I stream once a week and (rotate Saturday’s and Thursday’s) and I have really met some awesome people as well as a supportive group of users!

  3. Hey all! Here’s some quick tips for getting your MIDI to sound a little less robotic. This is not the definitive guide by any means but it may at the very least help someone.

BandLab did not buy the Cakewalk company and its products. They purchased Cakewalk IP.

That makes sense I suppose. But, if they still work and are obtainable by download the they should be accessible to all.

BandLab cannot give old Cakewalk installers to users who did not purchase them while Cakewalk was in business.

    That’s unfortunate...

Moreover, for Cakewalk users to access the old downloadable installers they needed to participate in the Single Sign-On migration in late 2014 or have created a Single Sign-On account before Gibson shut down Cakewalk in 2017.

Is there some way to create a “dummy” account that all could use to access the older rollback versions? 🤔

IDK maybe I’m overthinking this but it just stinks that some of those awesome plugs are gone now. (For new users)

I really liked the idea of using tap tempo while listening to a rehearsal track to set the project tempo and using Studio Instrument drums to create a click track that matches the "feel" of the song.  I'm looking forward to the next episode.

This has always been my approach to! In fact when I released my Creating A Song Step by Step series about 3 months prior to this series. I really drove that point home.

  6. As a longtime user (started baking with Sonar LE in before the Cleverbridge updates) I have the privilege of owning all of the old plugins from my eventual purchase of SPLAT.

However, I just recently learned that new users don’t have access to these pre-existing Plugins.

Is there anyway that new users can gain access to these? I’d love to be able to share with my audience how to do so. I’ve had hundreds of people asking for them already!

You can turn on the subtitles. They are very helpful.

    Thank you.

It seems if one is to slow in their delivery it’s not good, if they’re to fast it’s not good.

Perhaps one day I will find the perfect cadence and set my videos to a metronome. 😂

  8. Cakewalk has had a lot of innovative ideas over the years. Aux tracks and patch points are no exception. These powerful tools can be used for a lot of creativity. However the question that keeps coming up is, "What is the difference between an Aux track, a Bus, and a Patch Point in Cakewalk.

Well, in this video I hope to explain just that and show some practical applications of how to use them in Cakewalk by BandLab!

  9. I regularly stream my DAW on my YouTube channel, so I may be able to help.

If needed I can drop some screen shots in here.

So here is my workaround. I have a Focusrite 6i6 that has two headphone out jacks. I have a Stereo cable leading from one headphone jack to the Line In of the PC on the back panel.

That second headphone jacks volume knob becomes my level for OBS and I have it labeled as PC Sound.

I use a second cheaper M-Audio mini that I picked up for like $35 to keep my mic separate from the PC sound and set my OBS monitoring settings to hear everything in one set of headphones. (The other open jack in the Focusrite)

So far over done some pretty in-depth stuff live with good results. The only time it gets crazy is when I’m interviewing someone on Skype, but there are always workarounds. 😉

Let me know if this helped, if  not I can Skype you to help get you up and running! Below are some examples of the quality.

    Some music playing through:

    Some mixing type stuff:

Thanks for the list, just what I need. Still going through it and already know a lot more than last week!

Have you covered arps in your videos? I know that there are some inbuilt arps in Cakewalk but not really what I am looking for. What I need to know is how to create arps (ala Zimmer) that can play in any key once stored.

    Any advice?

    Regards.

Don't utilize them much, so I really couldn't speak to that. Our pal Ol' @Wookiee might be just the man to seek out on this!

Very nice! You know how to use your voice (inflections etc) to get the most out of the lyrics.
Well orchestrated too. And weirdly I got a Jethro Tull kind of feel from the song.

Love the low baritone all over the place in this one, it gives the song a substantial weight. Great vocal.

    @:11 you want "too long"

(the truth must be spoken) :)

I listened a couple of times, those lyrics are really quite well thought out.

    cheers,
