now two more virus scanners are showing the installer as malicious - including Google

and why aren't IKM signing their installers ?

    @Peter - IK Multimedia

not only does this update remove authorisations (lots of reports on the IKM forum) - but also flagging as malicious.  You might want to pass this along to your developers ?

The MacOS one seems signed. The Windows installer is not signed at all? Peter, would you consider escalating to your developer team?

There is a cost for a certificate but it is worth it for your users and probably for your company in reduced support costs; for example you get a smartscreen reputation boost with an EV cert.

  2. for the last couple orders, including one from Monday, I didn't receive a followup thank-you coupon. I had placed a couple orders with them in the past so was curious if there's a limit per account, then came to check this thread :).

I unsubscribed from promo mail at some point too, but checked my cart as Eusebio mentions.

As always when TT has 60+% sale on ezx's, curious if these ezx's have bigger brother sdx's . . . (in this case, for "Number 1 Hits" and "Funkmasters")

    PavlovsCat commented on Funkmasters.

Number 1 Hits is one of the electronic-oriented ones and I don't believe there's any SDX that is electronic or even hybrid, so likely no equivalent there either?  It's also less than 200MB so I wonder how they'd scale it up to 50GB :)

  4. Thanks Larry

It looks like four products on sale through this; Cardinal and Mystic are new product sales. These should stack with loyalty discounts.

    Prices in EUR

    Gold (Neve) 199 to 69 - save 65%

    Camel (possibly Calrec and Trident B) 159 to 59 - save 63%

    Sand (SSL) 199 to 59 - save 70%

    Taupe (tapes) 259 to 89 - save 64%

Speaking of "Rage Against The Machine", Quad Cortex owners are still waiting on the editor, better file management, etc.  🤪

the amp series seems to be doing well, I wonder if these will take the form of Archetype: Preset Manager and Archetype: Patch Editor

I wonder if I should replace Waves Audio MV2 with UAD Teletronix® LA-2A Leveler Collection?

IMO these aren't direct replacements for each other; MV2 is one of the Waves plugins I couldn't replace with something else yet.

The LA-2A is one of the most frequently modeled compressors out there with tons of free and paid options. The Universal Audio ones have been a staple in the industry for years if you don't have a favorite yet,

Waves's direct competitor is the CLA-2A in the CLA collection

  7. Steven -- sorry if I'm misunderstanding but I think you are getting the best price at $79. They suggest after the introductory offer the upgrade will be $99

New business model: Software includes core sound library

Waves is going to have me on edge with the phrase "new business model" for years.

From what I can tell it's not too bad here, basically means that we must get the grand piano? That is:

EZKeys 1: There were a couple dozen instruments, each of which had a full version or expansion. You must own at least one instrument as a full version to "own" EZKeys itself, but it can be any of them. You could, for example, buy the full version of EZKeys Pipe Organ, the Electric Grand expansion, and nothing else.

EZKeys 2: There is only one full "EZKeys 2" and it comes with a grand piano library. You can load other V1 instruments as expansions, and presumably V2 instruments if/when they make further expansions. Everyone will have the grand piano.

is that accurate? Seems less confusing, and on the upside any sales won't be split between full versions and expansions.

I like Waves plugins, but this is ridiculous. Seems like they’re forcing this upon customers. Don’t know another company that has done this.

I purchased the Waves Platinum bundle around last November from EveryPlugin. I’ve yet to activate it.  I’ll most likely activate beginning of March.  But just imagine if I had purchased the Waves bundle from a third party vendor like EveryPlugin a week before the deadline or maybe on March 25, 2023.  Are Waves gonna still force me to activate by the 26th? No grace period? Seems very sketch. Sincerely wonder if they could be sued for this.

Do you have a serial number in your email, but it is not yet in your Waves account? I think that process is "registering"

Or is it in your Waves account but you haven't installed and activated it on any computer? I think this is installing an "activating" it.

If I understand correctly, this change doesn't affect "activation." Basically if a serial number is registered to your waves account, you're good.

I just realised I could upgrade to the complete bundle for 314 EUR. This includes all the Weiss and Amp Room stuff and what not. Insane value. So much better than PA.

My only question: the upgrade is from Parallels, a single plugin. Will I get spare licences for all the other plugins I own?

Hi Jan, if this is referring to Volume, that's probably around 1/3 of their plugins and not a complete softube collection. See "what's included" here

    https://www.softube.com/products/volume-5

imo still very useful, but for instance: it has two of the smaller Weiss plugins but not the main unit, no Chandler, no Empirical Labs

for the other question, I think you might keep the other licenses, but also if I recall correctly softube stuff has 3 ilok activations.
