  1. Comment is about Bandlab, NOT you. Yes your post prompted the post "about Bandlab", hence the quote. A stated by others much too much coming soon ............... Nothing personal intended.
  2. Guess they just haven't had enough time yet? Really?
  3. Well, I guess I can say no more. I'm done and I'll just wait and see if I will be using New Sonar or not. Will have to brush up on studio One and reaper. Although I am more familiar with Reaper. Feel like I am leaving an old friend, well I am. Wish it was different but I honestly believe they will stick with their subscription scheme and the hell with the rest of us 30+ years Cakewalk Users............ I was actually warned in another forum that I frequent years ago that this would happen. I argued for CW and said no way. They may have subscriptions but they also will sell it to us...........Guess they were right and I was wrong. 😞
  4. We all know we DO NOT OWN the software. That's been a thing, like forever. The development of Sonar is obviously pretty much done. Yes updates will be needed down the road. I get it's a bit more complicated than JUST a Subscription. Some how these other DAW companies miraculously manage to do it-offer both I mean-Or just sell!
  5. I don't claim to be a big business guy, but I don't get the, backend issues and extra $$$ cost if you , say, sell a perpetual license and subscriptions. It has been stated a few times so far. So what are we talking here, the price of boxes and postage? So make it a download only. Serve cost. Accountants to track sales vs subscriptions? I think accounts can handle both, we are not talking Microsoft Corp.here. I still just do NOT see the logic in this decision. John V's post above and fine video shows that most daws and software companies SELL. Some subscribe and sell. Cool idea! FEW just subscribe. Just amazes me. Also, I mentioned this before, Yes it was great having CW free with updates. But I am pretty sure the $$$ I spent on CW and ALL upgrades since the early 90's (I always upgraded to the end) kind of balances it out. Oh well..........
  6. So they both install to the original CW directory? Just checking. Thanks and sorry but I couldn't find the answer.
  7. Sorry if I missed this but: Can I install next and Sonar juts to take a look without enrolling? Thanks
  8. For me, I guess you would say it's a matter of principle. Right or wrong it is how I, Frank, feel. Also the only reason I keep mentioning it is because of my preference for CW\Sonar, etc. Trust me, it's not an easy thing.
  9. Kind of goes both ways. we also supported (as in $$$) CW\Sonar for many, many years, much longer than CWBL has been free. So why not accommodate those of us that have an aversion to "Software subscriptions and come up with a price. The $$$ is NOT the issue with me.
  10. I think the price IS VERY IMPORTANT. ANYTHING you buy you look at the price. We all make our own choices. My choice is NO SUBSCRIPTION. Guess it's different if you are making $$$ using a daw, I am not. So if I cannot BUY a Sonar license like it used to be , I will sadly move on. 😞 I also have Studio One and Reaper. As stated before, since my memory sucks I have to relearn whatever I use anyway. Ok this is getting old for me because it seems obvious to me that nothing will change in the foreseeable future.
  11. Good Question....Sweetwater is my go to store for decades............I am guessing right now no one knows the answer to that,,,,
  12. I seriously doubt that is the case. Just my opinion of course. It's like you pay to try it out and when they come up with a price you pay again. Now, I have said many times, I am READY to pay (NOT for ANY type of subscription). IMHO, the subscription BS to use Sonar now is just another way to GET $$$$. Yes I said that! Why? Well they state it's NOT a beta-then come up with a price. Period! I also have been getting familiar again with Reaper and since I forgot most of what I know I can buy another DAW product and really nothing lost for me. Does make me sad though-after32+ years!
  13. John, with all due respect, and I mean you do deserve respect, possibly you and a few others were\are trying to help. NOT ALL. Yes I take it personally. Probably because I do have some "serious health issues" and it makes me mad and defensive. Many times I have mentioned I have been using CW since early late 80's\90's. I knew more then than I can remember now. I did say, I believe more than once that I was signed in everywhere possible. No one seemed to take that into consideration-well your last post did.
  14. You did everything but call names. I clearly stated I was SIGNED IN. but you chose to ignore that and keep having what you consider "fun" I guess. I tried to show I have some "memory issues" due to many things which I will not list, although I did give a hint to one of them. You chose to ignore all that. Kind of reminds me of the time Kanya West told everyone to stand at a concert before he would sing again. One person didn't. Of course, Kanya, being who he is, ragged on the guy. But then he found out the guy was in a wheel chair. (no I am NOT in a wheel chair, but.....................................................
  15. OK since I am leaving anyway I have to say, I was signed in MORON that's part of the point-JEEEEZZz the arrogance is unreal!
  16. I explained what happened but I guess your just so intelligent it's below you to understand. Couldn't be easier to go away either instead of just kicking a man when he's down-thanks pal This does it for me-I don't need this level of heartless Bs
  17. No John, I did NoT ignore it. I thought I activated it when prompted-thru the web and thru the bandlab assistant app. I guess what I was doing inadvertently covered\hid the warning box. But hey, what do I know.
  18. I never had the chance until it was too late. But I guess I am not explaining that part correctly. Once again, my fault. What's the use, obviously what happened is coming across correctly-. So to have bothered anyone. Doubt I will return so you can all rejoice since NONE of your replies were an answer to the issue or actually understood the issue.
  19. It was too late. The activation dialog was hidden before I realized. Nope. I am using the same CWbyBL I have been using-period.
