  1. When 12 track recordings bog me down, i switch to 1 stereo pair well placed and just have fun making music. You control how much effort you put in the different parts of the process. Sometimes, i think i hide behind the console. Playing away from mics is also nice. Try shifting focus before selling your instrument.
  2. @Bapu, I've purchased the same plugin twice. The LA2A thing Cakewalk did. They eventually sold it for use in other DAWs. I bought it thinking there was some difference. I even tried diffing it with the original. LOL
  3. Glad you worked around the issue. If you get steps to repeat it in a new project, I'll try them if you like.
  4. idk Jono... it was just a guess. If I were you, I think I would just record the external insert onto a new track and then bounce that.
  5. This is exceptionally odd. Can you replicate with a new project?
  6. sounds weird. The bounce is for what is selected, so if you only select 1 measure, only 1 measure bounces. You can also record the external insert to a track and then do your bounce as a method of trouble shooting.
  7. Where do you save your projects folder? Is it on an M2 driver/SSD or a magnetic drive? I ask b/c maybe it's taking a sec to create a file? idk... just an idea.
  8. Project Templates too. Like, if you always set up your projects in a particular way, using a project template makes this much faster.

OMG I got credited on a record! It's not actually the first time ever, but I'm super proud to be associated with these artists. So talented! So here I am bragging. Bet none of you shmoes have worked with the mighty Chris Vasi like I have! 😛
  11. I think stop at end of project is a setting in preferences.
  12. Are you portable? You might try to record your mic somewhere else and see if you get the same amount of noise. It could be that your mic cable is working like an antenna. Depending on where you are, it might record less noise. This would at least be a clue to the issue. If that is the issue, a shorter, shielded mic cable should catch less noise. I think this tends to be more of a thing with guitar cables, but still, you could check. I'm guessing you just have a noisy mic on a noise pre amp and you are like, hey! what's with the noise. One way to reduce the relative amount of noise is to play louder when you record. 🙂
  13. To the Hardcore competitive, the difference between basketballs matters. Not so much for me.
  14. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/dress-for-success-how-clothes-influence-our-performance/ There is some research that suggests dressing out of the ordinary may help your performance. Putting on a scarf or unusual hat... dress the part... may help your performance and help you relax.
  15. The iChing is the book of changes. I got this image today. I thought it was interesting. This is tantamount to me sharing a horoscope. I just thought it was cool. Like those start up tips that are built in to cakewalk. When, at the beginning of summer, thunder - electrical energy - comes rushing forth from the earth again, and the first thunderstorm refreshes nature, a prolonged state of tension is resolved. Joy and relief make themselves felt. So too, music has power to ease tension within the heart and to loosen the grip of obscure emotions. The enthusiasm of the heart expresses itself involuntarily in a burst of song, in dance and rhythmic movement of the body. From immemorial times the inspiring effect of the invisible sound that moves all hearts, and draws them together, has mystified mankind. Rulers have made use of this natural taste for music; they elevated and regulated it. Music was looked upon as something serious and holy, designed to purify the feelings of men. It fell to music to glorify the virtues of heroes and thus to construct a bridge to the world of the unseen. In the temple men drew near to God with music and pantomimes (out of this later the theatre developed). Religious feeling for the Creator of the world was united with the most sacred of human feelings, that of reverence for the ancestors. The ancestors were invited to these divine services as guests of the Ruler of Heaven and as representatives of humanity in the higher regions. This uniting of the human past with the Divinity in solemn moments of religious inspiration established the bond between God and man. The ruler who revered the Divinity in revering his ancestors became thereby the Son of Heaven, in whom the heavenly and the earthly world met in mystical contact. These ideas are the final summation of Chinese culture. Kongfu (Confucius) has said of the great sacrifice at which these rites were performed: "He who could wholly comprehend this sacrifice could rule the world as though it were spinning on his hand." Makes me think of the super stars. Jerry. Lennon.
  16. You can also move now time to start of clip with ctrl+g. I map end of clip to ctrl+shift+g.
  17. Sorry to read this, Dave. I have kinda two circles. I have one bunch of musician friends on the wagon... and the bunch that isn't. I could see where the fact that they don't mix that well could be a bummer. I hope this proves an opportunity to upgrade. ✌
  18. Laws are strange things to try to squeeze justice from.
  19. My wife and i had dinner with some folks. Later we were talking about them and i kept describing one as the old guy. She pointed out that he is our age.
  20. I 7z the folders then drop them on cheap USB drives and leave a copy at a relatives house. I swap it out when I visit. This is enormously inexpensive.
