  1. Just to add to the enlightenment . . . A pair of 20 inch xlrs - $1700. noice!!!
  2. @treesha - thanks, glad you liked it! I hope you can post more of your tunes to the forum . . . good stuff. @Makke - many thanks for the listen and the comment! @Barry Seymour- very glad you found it interesting! One man's idiosyncrasy is another man's turning the channel to the next show. I think the mix is close but I have some midrange stuff to sort out, which always takes so durn much time. That's actual work, and isn't this all supposed to be fun??? Anyway, thanks! @thegaltieribrothers - Paul many thanks, it was fun to watch this come together. I appreciate the comment . . .
  3. cha cha cha!!! Great vocals and the percussive mix was a treat . . .

Dee-lightful!!! It evokes the sea. I really like the drive and the atmosphere of this piece! In the middle part, you have a drone-type instrument hanging and sustaining on a "D" and I think you might consider backing off on that one a bit, or maybe eq it differently, because that heavy drone D might be sucking some mix bandwidth you might want to give to the surrounding sparkly instruments. Just a thought. maybe give your soundcloud file a half a mo of space, before the fun starts? It's a bit abrupt from the get go. now it was pretty criminal to bring the lady's vocal in right at the end, then bail. I feel like this could be three minutes longer, and her voice could really dip and dive along the sea foam . . . very cool piece Starise! cheers, -Tom
  5. That song is a maneater. Put it down, careful now, easy! Now, slowly walk away . . . SLOWLY!!! Actually kudos for trying, you got this. You going to play his sax solo on the guitar? 😵
  6. The whole damn world, apparently! "She Gave Her Heart to Jethro"
  7. Sorry to dredge this back up! A belated thanks to @SteveC, @kakku, and the venerable wherever-the-heck-he went @Bob Oister . . . So like nearly a year later, here's a vid . . . any comments are welcome, thanks!
  8. This song must've been eaten by slugs. No file found. Darn slugs!!!
  9. You have big balls and did a good job! Wait until they hear "Dirty Laundry" . . . love that too.
  10. Having heard your excellent work for a while now, with great guitar work (love the whammy tremelo dips!) I think I'm noticing the bass. It seems to breathe in the mix a lot less than the other instruments. It might be so 2-D as to "narrow" the overall mix. How do you record the bass? I wonder if your interface is giving it enough depth of field, or if some compression could be backed off? I dunno. It's not an awful bass mix, I just think it could be improved. I assume your bass is mixed right down the center? Maybe I'm crazy but I think your awesome guitar, and even the drums, have more roomy life to them and mix width than the bass does. Maybe I'm giving you a starting point on a wild goose chase . . . sorry! I do like your style and the genre is always a good listen. cheers, -Tom
  11. Keep it up '80's man!!! I'm right there with ya. It's a great rendition and you have a touch with this. There's a bit of sibilance on the vocals in spots. "Mistaken" "Speak" I highly recomment Oeksound Soothe, it would fit in well with your other toys. I do like how your posts give the background on your tools, and "Ozone 8 doing whatever it felt like doing" was pretty epic! I would cut the intro or at least cut the high pitched quick filtered synth up top, it opens your effort and makes me think "video game" but that's just me. I think your effort has more weight and substance than an intro with "bleep blurp bleep" signifies. cheers, -Tom
  12. Lynn's comment nailed it! I'd bring the vocals up in the mix. I'm not sure you need that big puffy sub kick on the one. It's a bit of a distraction. Just a thought. I like your voice, and the mix of it, so let it be heard more! cheers, -Tom
  13. Great playing! I found myself wanting the strings gone, just to hear the piano. What does that sound like? The strings do make it swooshy and romantic, however. Nice one! cheers, -Tom
  14. Way good! Those Teslas have really come a long way. When she says the guy is "switching genres" . . . you could have switched the background music to a skiffle polka. Anyway, to be serious, I liked the dark brooding tone and the percussion builds the tension very well. I don't think there is any really criticizing your compositional choices because there is no right answer . . . I do like your choices! You must be totally sick of watching this clip, I bet? cheers, -Tom
  15. That's a good performance for sure! The woodiness of the guitar comes through wonderfully. You might consider a slight volume boost of the vocals, and if you haven't yet done so, dip the volume just a smidge on the guitar when a vocal line is happening? Your guitar has a wonderful percussive strum transient, but that also helps wipe out the vocal just a little. My .02 Kroners on your lovely effort! cheers, -Tom
  16. Consistently great productions in my opinion . . . this one has the 1980's / 2020 mashup down. Love it! cheers, -Tom
  17. I could totally see this used in a movie scene. It's brilliant and very evocative. On headphones I heard some digital clipping artifacts occasionally? Like where two abutting files weren't crossfaded. One example @ :42. It might juist be a Soundcloud think, I dunno. Might be worth a check for those. super cool piece, sorry to hear the movie didn't work out. cheers, -Tom
  18. Actually we don't all know that. But I do now, many thanks! Rogue on the Unix server had absolutely no sound at all, and was the best computer game ever invented !
  19. So even though it appears like a fraud, a scam, a ripoff . . . . I'm still feeling pissed that Spaghetti Western is $59 . . .
  20. That's how I got Portal, from BF, for $29, although it took exactly 6 months afterwards. Still MF followed through on it, kudos! I
  21. Some of these are so old, the dinosaurs posted them on MySpace.
  22. Can't believe you bypassed the box office gold that is Areefa Plankton
  23. Just in time for Father's Day . . . Spaces I owners can upgrade to Spaces II for $184 . . . that's a whopping 116% ON!!! Or you can buy Spaces II outright for a 60% discount, just $149. But what fun is that, Dads? Seriously, this continues to be the stupidest thing I have ever seen in plug-in pricing. Happy Father's Day to the Dads out there!
