  2. wonder what the CPU hit is like, NAM is pretty high. (also curious what circuit is modeled/captured, seemed pretty vague in the post)
  3. Yeah, I started out the same when TONEX came out, but as time has passed on, as much as I appreciate these other developers - I find it doesn't make sense for me to buy products I simply will not use. Funds are limited and I've shifted that spending to those buying and capturing high end amps. There is no reason why these other makers couldn't do the same and add packs to their lineup, they choose not to. There are plenty of packs out there I want but don't have yet and frankly take some of this approach now with the tonex pack creators buying some packs when cheap enough even though I know they will get less use than other packs. $50 is a lot of money for something I won't use. Price needs to be far less than that to simply "support" the developer.
  4. ToneX user here (with quite a few after market packs) These $50 plugins are an easy pass. I'd find far more value putting that money towards more packs. Also when I'm looking for Laney tones, I'm thinking more along the lines of Tony Iommi, Billy Corgan, or even the Lionheart (vintage tone and dynamics instead of a modern voice like the Ironheart)
  5. Different Laney model but these Lionheart captures from FunkyBot (for free) are on par with other paid packs of different amps that are out there, and formatted in a similar way giving a good range of the amp. https://www.tone.net/tonex/search/?q=laney+lionheart+l5t&search_filters=
  6. Clearly he had early access to the release. He is doing good stuff though I also think it is odd having content creators getting all this early access as though IKM is passing off the job of updating customers.
  7. I'm sure you have plenty of feedback that $169 is a tough pill to swallow for many of us that just fiddle around with opening some VSTs with low latency outside a DAW I'm glad I got v3 and v4 at a heavy discount, but personally wouldn't pay any more for it due to the value I personally get out of the product. Thankfully TONEX now has a pedal form (in addition to the ITB) and for me this dramatically decreases the need for a real time VST loader.
  8. I was curious about the changes, this seems to cover some (if not all) of it.
  9. Are far as Laney Cab based IRs, this is one of my go-tos https://ml-sound-lab.com/products/70s-giants-cab-pack not really intertested in the AuoraDSP plugin as I'm sure I'll be better served buying the eventual ToneX capture pack of a Laney amp at a far lower price point.
  10. Price isn't that surprising given the market. Pretty standard pricing for a made in the USA hand wired amp that has a tube driven tremolo and reverb with built in power scaling They certainly could have done an overseas job here, but when you build amps in CA the price tends to be top of the market.
  11. I haven't tried this yet but seems an odd play to not really market something as an AI noise reduction tool ala ClarityVX or Goyo Super tone Clear. They already have Nectar as an "ai" assisted vocal clarity/enhancer with multiple product tiers. A v4 update would be a clear way to add the noise reduction component. And if the emphasis isn't on noise reduction using AI, then isn't it at the core a Nectar competitor?
  12. Agree, was surprised and disappointed they didn't re-release the goldtones here and went with something different.
  13. Sonar (the beta only release) or a legacy version? (or the 3rd option Cakewalk by Bandlab that isn't technically "sonar")
  14. I wondered the same for 2 seconds, then thought about the fact that is still twice what I paid for the full program. Can't support these "upgrade" prices when the only thing I really care about is a resizable UI.
  15. edit: I guess the other time this happened was with Gig Performer. Both of these companies charge a lot more than outside PA for the update, making them cost prohibitive to upgrade - so I'm not sure that avoiding buying via PA does the consumer any good.
  16. It seems it can be done via drag and drop.
  17. Thanks for this. What a complete nightmare needing to do this across multiple computers with this update.
  18. Previously the end user at least had some control. Off-Line Activation, and even a button to refresh activation to give you 6 months. Opened the program today on the latest build and I have 7 days - and there was zero option prior to that to "refresh" my activation....this could be a very real problem.
  19. Thanks. Another observation about the update. It seems like there is no longer an option to change the CAB to any of the existing IRs/CABs in ones collection (other than specifically imported IRS - which is now going to be a crazy long scroll list instead of something searchable( - am I missing something or is this simplification also a major limitation?)
  20. So is there a preferred method to "copy" the library from one computer to another as it doesn't sync between the account? Maintaining both of my machines really has taken a significant amount of work to keep them similar, and that doesn't even include presets - which would be mind numbing to also export/import.
  21. @Peter - IK Multimedia Before I attempt this, does this backup from a specific machine it is run on? (and then could be used to get two computer libraries "in sync" without having to spend countless hours downloading and importing/exporting?)
  22. Reed 200A was also a giveaway a while back, but only for the golden ear crowd that was able to correctly guess which was the real thing and which was the VSTi. It was close enough not everyone was getting a copy that is for sure.
  23. Normally the strategy is buy some low priced junk you will never use so you can get the decent free with purchase item. In this case the strategy is to buy something decent for cheap so they throw in something you have no interest in. That being said, I think we can all appreciate a month free of temptation like this one is this far.
  24. honestly think the BB is irrelevant to is signal chain. Easy to get his style of tone with a Strat and a Two-Rock or Dumble, no $150 pedal needed. I've used a King of Tone (which is a more refined BB circuit) for over a decade and since it is a pedal it will reduce the dynamic range and touch sensitivity of a good amp. I've also had an original BB, and while it is better than a tube screamer, it certainly can be improved upon.
