  1. I've never finger drummed before, but two fingers on one hand (on keyboard) is all you need with this thing to sound like an epic movie.

Didn't even know my fingers had it in them.

It's a pretty simple instrument so probably not enough for most people.  But the sound...

This is a very old but neat trick that should be re-mention from time to time.

For those who really-really hate to type, there are some free Windows apps with GUI.

I do prefer to use this "manual" method rather than taking some more space in my storage.

As scook pointed out recently, and something I've lived with, if your version of Windows is non-english, then you'll have junctions all over the place to connect non-english system folder names with their underlying english equivalents (I have 9 junctions just in my main user's home folder).  So adding junctions may create more than one level of redirection.   I don't know what the risk or penalty is for that.  I use symlinks and junctions, but sparingly.

  3. I keep thinking of the developer(s) /owners whose work was taken over by these buyouts.

If you're getting on in your years, or just want to move on to something else, why not sell out for some clean cash and leave all the hassles to someone else.

What's less clear to me is what's in it for the one doing the buying.  Seems all they get for their trouble is a bad rep.

YouTube is littered with sales and marketing videos by folks who are receiving compensation from plugin manufacturers. I’ve seen those. That’s why I’m asking the folks in the forum for any first hand experience.

There even seem to be videos that must have been generated by some automatic process.  When I'm looking for info on soft synths I have to wade through weird videos where different automaton voices (usually female) are just reading from some marketing script.

Don't know what the point is, unless it's just ad revenue, but I block them.

Had some virtual cash around, enough te make me try it out for €3. Let's see what it can do against the likes of LFO tool or Shaperbox.

I'm not sure it's in the same league as those other ones, though I've only used it a bit very recently.

I don't much like the UI.

I'd like to get my hands on LFO tool, been waiting for it to go on sale, if it ever does.

Engineer: "it presents the recorded audio with no resampling, added jitter, or coloration of any kind."
Marketing person: "great, is there anything we can do to make our program sound better than the competition?"

    That's up to marketing !

Bit, I've wanted to ask this for a while. What does your sig mean? 🙂 What is this truth?

Having nothing to do, I tried to find it.  This is pretty close :

But not quite.  Still, must be something related to signal processing.

But I'm also interested in the Truth.

I need another synth like I need another hole in my head.   But, at $22,  I couldn't resist.  As @Fleer says, it's pretty pretty good.

I've so far resisted, but only because the above image kind of blows my mind.

I don't know where to start to figure out what's going on.

Kidding aside, it took a couple times for it to load on my end as well.

I always wondered how others could apparently see something while all I saw was a sequence of digits

Until a few days ago when I tried right clicking and open image in new tab (firefox) and finally get the image.

I got most of the way through a post pleading for help when I figured it out.

Don't see any advantages in upgrading to Windows 11, especially considering it might become subscription in the near future. I'd only use it if MS paid me to do so.

The one thing I hated about windows10 and kept me on 7 until last year was the square-cornered windows and minimalist detail which I find so harsh.

Then w11 comes along with rounded-cornered windows (and looks so much better for it, though still minimalist) and I can't install it on my otherwise powerful tower pc.

(I guess because I was brought up on scandinavian design which abhors corners and edges).
