Is this essential to improve tone with Amplitube 4?

I tried using it recently and all my tones were sounding very thin, whether used clean or with gain. I was mostly using presets.

Next I tried cycling through all the amps but it showed no improvement. Wondering if I was doing something wrong there.

Yes, to my ears it gives a more 'Amp Like' tone, not that the Cab Room thing in Amplitube is bad or anything, it's quite good, I just prefer the sound with 3rd party IR's in most cases. I don't think it would fix your issue though, it could even make it worse.

I emailed them about it.  They replied "We can create a PayPal order for you. What do you need?".

I was going to check their pricing on a bunch of stuff.  Ended up just buying from everyplugin.

Yeah similar here, I inquired on another forum about it, and he PM'd me asking is there anything he could help me with, he has also mentioned that when the site gets back up he would be arranging a few freebies for peoples trouble.

  3. I'm pretty sure these have been around for a good while. I'm also pretty sure they would be of little interest to most here, as they don't even begin to compare to audio interfaces most here would use. They are however very suitable to those they are likely aimed at, the online BandLab crew who use Phones and tablets etc to create. They are essentially just away to hook up to mobile devices.

I do not know why they call it an "audio interface", technically it is a small portable pre-amp which allows connecting guitar/mic to the mic input of build-in audio interface of phone/tablet/notebook.

Simply by adding a bit of TwinTube’s analog tube warmth you can dramatically improve vocal and instrument tracks. Many times you will need less EQ-ing after applying TwinTube to brighten or fatten things up.

"Saturation is one of the most important keys to mixing in the box, particularly heavier music, and this plug delivers tons of tube vibe and thickness for days!"

I'm in the same boat as you and going to  test the demo properly....I think there's a bit of tweaking involved to get it right and hopefully, I'll find the way to do this.

    It's $209 USD with the coupon code....tempting.

How do you get $209? do you have a qualifying product for a lower normal price?

  6. I'd be prepared to sell anyone my S-Gear 2 (Updated to the latest) at a good price, I don't think they do license transfers, so it would have to account takeover. First I'll have to check if I can switch to some generic Email account, and what personal info is kept, and if it can be removed. I'll check into it, and might even put it up on KVR, I see another one there today.

Personally never thought much of S-Gear, never use it, been years, always thought it to be way over rated, but if others like it and could get some use out of it, better than just sitting dormant on my hard drive.

I was also very interested in the Helix Native and Jim Roseberry helped out with some useful info:

"The better your front end DI, the better results you're going to get with Helix Native.

If you've seen posts saying Helix Native doesn't sound as good as the hardware, it's often because the user is comparing the hardware Helix (120dB dynamic range on the input) to a $100 audio interface (crap DI) as the front end for Helix Native."

The AXE I/O has a dynamic range of 117dB which makes it ideal for the Helix. However   when I demo'd Helix Native, I couldn't get it to sound as good as I really wanted. Speaking of which, check out the video around  the 5:50 mark. I'm still very interested in getting it, but only if I can get close to the tones he's getting.  Might have to demo it again and give it a more thorough test.

If you guys know how to get that, would truly appreciate any tips. :)

I checked out the Specs of the AXE I/O and my Clarett and they are pretty much the same, same dynamic range etc. I've been curious about the AXE I/O since release, but never bothered because I have been extremely happy with the Clarett.

Anyway, I have been checking the Line6 forums for people wanting to sell, no luck yet, but I've almost convinced myself to pull the trigger before the sale ends. First I am going to download the demo again and see what I think this time, if it's a good impression taking into account everything else I have I'll grab it, if not . . . well no harm.

I don't really get the appeal of Amplitube Max. And I'm someone that really likes Amplitube.

    Thing is, I have Amplitube 4, Orange, both Fender 1 and 2, Ampeg 1 and 2, Mesa/Boogie,

Really all Max gives me is a bunch of super old stuff modeled like, what? Ten years ago? Also, most of those old amps are just old models of stuff in the newer bundles like Fender and Mesa.

If they actually updated this stuff it might be appealing. As of now it just seems like a waste.

MAX has zero appeal for me because I already have everything Amplitube except the Leslie's.

As others have said, there is some good stuff in there, the Jet City, Z's to name 2, and some of the old stuff I find good, the American Vintage B (and it's mates) can sound pretty good with the Fulltone OCD in front, shut the Cab section down, quality 3rd party Cab IR, and tricked up a bit before and after Amplitube for example. But that's just to my ears, yours may tell a different story.

It was nice to have on while prepping some materials for some things that we are announcing tomorrow (and we are also officially announcing AmpliTube Joe Satriani since the iOS version was also approved and is on the App Store now too - give or take some propagation time in some areas of the world).

Till then I’ll have to suffer Studio One 5 envy

I recall you asking about Studio One 4, that wasn't that long ago, did you purchase new, and if so how long ago?

I have read that there is a 90 day grace period, if you purchased within the last 90 days you get 5 for free.
