  1. 'tis, but it was written by Barry and performed various times by the Bee Gee's. He's even singing backups on the original.
  2. I finally got the replacement set from Amazon. This one was brand new never opened. The way these things smoke now just blow my mind. They have built in speakers with train sounds. It puffs out circles of smoke in time with the chugging. The faster you go the fast the circles come out. I also picked up a bottle of sugar cookie scented smoke. Can't wait till next Christmas. Only 10 months till decorating starts. πŸ‘
  3. Never say never. 😁 It may be time for a fresh install of some things but I'm afraid to because I always struggled with getting things registered and activated. I still use Dim Pro and Rapture and both stopped working outside of CbB and Rapture won't work in CbB anymore either on my system. X2 won't even open now so I just assumed it was some sort of conflict with CbB. I don't have any desire to use X2, I'm just worried if I uninstall it I may inadvertently uninstall other things that came with it that I still use. But yeah, it hasn't opened in a very long time. I double click the shortcut or directly on the .exe and nothing happens. Fwiw, it all worked when I built this PC 5 years ago and it had Windows 10 on it then, but Windows 10 has changed a lot and the things I'm running in to could very well be related to it. Those are just minor things and I can't say enough good about CbB. After all these years and having so many options out there it's still my favorite DAW to use. I'm happy you're still here and it's still going strong. And you can't beat the free part either! Edit: P.S. I found the FX Vst's that were missing. I had forgotten that they are disabled by default. I found them and they are working great.
  4. Yes the sibilant tool is really nice. Every de-esser I've ever used, even the preset in Melda's AutoDynamicEQ which is my go-to de-esser now, takes the 'air' out of vocals. It does something that just kills the highs and I don't have the patients to manually apply it to only the parts I want. Using M5S would be the same as chopping up your vocal clips and manually bringing down the sibilance which is how I used to do it. I saw that video and yes it does look like it's improved greatly under the hood. I guess I'll go get on my knees and beg the wife to let me do this. I've spent a lot on my DAW lately unfortunately but I'm worried if I wait between versions too long my upgrade price will double.
  5. Has anyone here upgraded from Melodyne 4 Studio to 5 Studio? The only thing I see in M5S that I would use is it has a de-esser function now. It finds sibilance and adjusts the volume. It doesn't use compression and therefor doesn't alter the rest of the vocal signal. I was hoping to see some UI updates plus it always felt clunky to me for lack of a better word but it looks the same except it has a few new features. None of which I would use except the de-esser. It's pretty rare that I use M4S to be honest because the UI is difficult to use for me. Thanks.
  6. Oh no. I saw you guys talking about Waves and noticed I had an ancient Waves Central icon on my desktop. I figured I'd check it out to see what's installed because I can't ever recall using anything from Waves. Now it's loading some 200Mb file and I can't stop it and I'm in panic mode. Just got a message saying it will be automatically installed up reboot. I think this is a leftover of some free thing they gave away 6 years ago that I could never get to install. Uhg. 😱😁
  7. I can't believe you missed the big one on that site ... 50% off MXXX Modular Multi-Effect. It's on sale at Melda's site too but the base price is more thus you save less.
  8. The mix and style and everything all sounds great.
  9. Unfortunately they are making their way up here to MO. At least the locals have something to eat besides squirrel now.
  10. I'd say it's a good thing. Right now it's working better than it ever did for me so I really have no complaints especially for the price. I wouldn't complain even if I did have problems simply because they ask nothing for using it.
  11. Yepper. I paid for every version from 8PE to X2PE. I used it long before that in someone else's studio so I've been using it a lot longer than 8PE. Seem to remember a Pro Audio 7? But I could be wrong. It's been decades.
  12. How do I know that the site where I put my email address in isn't some kind of scam site? 😟
  13. When I said freakin' tele, it's a statement of shock iow. Like, 'Holy crap he's playin' a freakin' tele! I can't believe it!' kinda thing. I couldn't believe it when I first saw what he was playing. I've always been able to play fastest when on my tele so it really doesn't surprise me but there is definitely a stigmatism about them and he's the only guy who plays the style he does that I've seen use one. πŸ‘ That and I thought Bapu might like it knowing his infatuation with primates and such. πŸ€ͺ
  14. Gasp! John 5 is fantastic. Notice what he plays? A freakin' Telecaster. I saw an interview with him one time. He grew up watching Hee Haw with his dad and thought Tele's were the only electric there was because that's all he saw on the show. He did a spoof on Hee Haw called Hell Haw. It's great! Lot's of dirty jokes so listen at own risk. No kids!
  15. As good as it can I would guess. πŸ€ͺ
  16. Well, now that I think about it, isn't there a free app for Android or iPad? I ain't in to all this techno mumbo jimbob. I just upgraded to a non wired mouse. πŸ‘
  17. It's human nature. They were all valid points about CbB, but what I was pointing out is, all but 1 were not show stoppers and could easily be worked with and around. But I sure do understand the desire to have it work more efficiently. πŸ‘
  18. Did you try using a controller instead like the Presonus Faderport? πŸ€ͺ
  19. The point where he was talking about the synth not responding to the envelope curve smoothly seems to be the only legit criticism he had imo. It almost sounded like there wasn't enough resolution or points on the envelope curve even though it looked like there were. I may be getting my DAWs mixed up but I seem to recall a setting for that. In regard to the rest. If milliseconds of your workflow time are that valuable to you, maybe taking hours creating, editing, and uploading a 9 minute video isn't quite the best usage of your time? πŸ€ͺ
  20. I shouldn't have said anything and I regret it now. It was late, I was tired, and it won't happen again. But yeah, a couple threads I've replied to have been deleted. I don't believe it was because of me but there was absolutely nothing bad that I saw by anyone. But I truly don't care about that kind of stuff anymore. After what I've been through the last couple years, and then C19 on top of it, nothing and I mean nothing bothers me anymore. Life's too short for the petty stuff and I just want everyone to be happy as they can be. Am I curious as to why a lot of the stuff I paid for and have been using for years suddenly vanished and/or stopped working ... you betchya pilgrim ... but it ain't worth the hassle and doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. πŸŒˆπŸ¦„πŸŒžπŸ˜ΊπŸ™‰πŸ™ˆπŸ™ŠπŸ‘
  21. By far, thee most incredible thing I have ever heard was a pair of lower end Magnepan's and a sub through a lower end McIntosh MA5300. Still pricey but not insane like their high end or PS Audio etc.. Some Best Buy's have a high end section. I A/B'd a room full of AV and Stereo head's to the MA5300 they had and nothing even came close. I never knew how important the distortion rating was on an amp until I heard one that didn't fudge that number. It was so clean and so pure compared to the other 24/25 AV and Stereo heads they had. Some were more expensive than the MA5300's $5K price tag. I'm happy with my 35+ year old Technics turntable I bought used, well, 35+ years ago, with a decent cartridge and my 70's Pioneer SX 550. My brother bought it new in 76 or 77 and gave it to me a couple of years ago. I had been using a now 20 + year old cheap JVC AV head but the 70's SX 550 is far better/cleaner sounding. Then I picked up a pair of very used/damaged but still working JBL L880 speakers off the for sale bulletin board where my wife works. Not a fan of JBL but they were cheap and it all sounds great to me and not worth the price difference between this setup and a Maggie/McIntosh imo.
