Produced by THE MEDIA .... lol
And voila , done ... the art of scary ...
Fixed for an attempt at a slight political jab.

I put those Sonar Power books in the dumpster a few years ago. I would have parted with them on ebay for under $50.

I guess their plugins are great but outside of that there is much to dislike such as their delivery system. I've heard more than once some of their stuff is not resource friendly.
-
Those presets take up 2gb of space.

I don't want anything to do with the Sine player. I've read too much about problems and these are pricey libraries and I would expect something close to being flawless instead of buggy.

My upgrade to Diamond is $53. Do I dare trust Lucy holding that football?

This is a good game.

I didn't realize their previous recent sale Gold was $76.

They should stick with what they do. Like who needs another synth.

It should be renamed to Soundbloat. The huge disk space has totally turned my off to Soundpaint.

The real question outside of sample hoarding and great price is it really worth the disk space?

Who has it? It's $59.

I think the whole discussion on plugins updates could easily miss the point without mentioning that a huge source of the problems are now constant transformations of OS-es. That at least in my experience. It used to be much more stagnant 15 year ago (and I'm missing it).
Better known as the (d)evolving OS.

I've had nothing but positive experiences with IK support.

But I have to address your complaint about no updates! IMO if a plugin provider delivers plugins with a reliable and solid code, then it is not necessary for endless updates!
That would be a Mac user's dream.

When you said "dinosaur companies" I assumed you meant those companies who wrote some good software in 2006 but never updated it, and yet still have annual Black Friday announcements offering big discounts. Or that still have draconian copy-protection measures in place decades after anybody has had any desire to pirate them. Acting like they are still the T. Rex of the jungle, not noticing that little furry mammals have eaten all their eggs.
This should be a sticky. Post of the week!

Usually a WD Blue can be had for that amount with a 5 yr warranty, plus excellent RMA service.

Steinberg have issued an update on their licensing news page
December 15, 2021: Updated licensing terms on “Online Activation”:
Based on the feedback we received from our customers, we have decided to make changes to our initial concept. First, instead of reconnecting to the internet within 30 days, once your software has been activated on your computer, it won’t need to contact our Steinberg Licensing server again for the purposes of activation. Second, we have decided to increase the maximum number of activations from two to three computers per single-user license.
I think that will bring more sales.

Their stuff is pricey.

I wonder if they allow people to stack their sub. You can't with Reason.
-
So how many of you would actually use this? I rarely use their stuff. It's not a quality issue it's just I never bother with it. Would you buy it for $56?
Shouldn't this be in their new strings package?

Well, the STUPID part is that you can't use on "Sale" items, and almost
NOTHING is on sale...and all overpriced....so it's basically a "Stick" that
you can't even throw for the dog...I'm so tapped out on synths.

That puts off an impulse purchase,

I have a friend who loves XO, but I still haven't bitten yet. So, @cclarry, I suppose it's a positive sign that at least the XLN folks are working on something. While I'm not upset at them for not doing anything to AD2 for so long like you are, I do hope that AD3 is in the works. It would be nice if XLN at least communicated about it with customers. It is strange to see a developer not do any major updates to its flagship product for what seems like a decade. I suppose at some point I'll pick up XO, but I'm mainly a rock musician (a former pro drummer) who primarily uses acoustic drum sample libraries and VSTs, so XO would be something I would use a lot less often that AD2 (or hopefully, AD3 someday soon).
XO is probably their new flagship.
