So much hostility in this thread!

I know Larry and it came across rude to me as well.

    Sometimes humor misses the mark…

I thought I was at Vi-Control there for a bit.

Even at $119 I'm not a fan of these type libraries that have phrases.  I have some that take up space.  There's enough loops out there not tied to a player.

I have fewer plugins today than I had ten years ago, and I could lose half the ones I still have and not miss them.

The only category that continues to grow, albeit much more more slowly than in the past: sample libraries. But it's been years since the last time an acquisition truly inspired me to be creative.

I'm less persuaded to buy them because they are bloated and then you have to figure in having the disk space.

This reminds me of the Arturia's collection of symphonic sounds. Many of these sounds are very convincing. If this is an included plugin inside of FL all the better.

It seems there are little gems in some of these DAWs,. I updated Mixcraft last night and had forgotten there are some nice little plugins and instruments in it.

I'm on the fence with sample libraries. I have enough of them now to make decent music, so why look at more of them? It seems like an endless money pit. Everyone comes out with another library the following year . NI just came out with something else. They all do. I admit to a fixation with them, but I can't possibly use all of them or learn all of them in my lifetime.

I like having plugins set up by type rather than brand. That way I can better look though the massive pile I have and make a decision. There are a lot of them I seldom ever use.

It's very plain and requires enhancements.  I'm hoping to see the project files.  Most of your 3 Osc synths like Spire and Sylenth  make nice string sounds. I've seen some trance tutorials where they make a few adjustments from the init patch.

They have contest in the FL forum using certain plugins.

  4.  I got a drive I'm sure that's ready to give out.  Odd one day my newer system didn't power up.  I unplugged it an plugged it back in and it startup. I started to hear the heads making noise.  When you check SMART, run the long generic tests everything is OK.   So I guess which ever drive dies that's the one.

I'm too lazy right now to open the case and listen closer.  I need to take screenshots of all of the folders.

    There are 3 2TB HDDs

WD Gold - 5yrs are up in Oct

    WD Black 10 years old

Seagate - RMA replacment just recently

I'm thinking replacing with a 4tb and 1tb SSD and only put stuff I "use".   Gotta go with a 5yr on a 4tb and they aren't in my idea price range.

I'll take it!  I'd like to think I'm both.

Thanks!  I do agree that there are things that should be smoother and I'm working on making sure that happens.  I'm not the only one, so I'll happily carve out that doubled salary amongst the advocates you all have on board over here ;)

Fair constructive point(s) there and thank you for the kind words.  It is a bit frustrating but also great in other ways that we take on a lot of different lines.  I've been here through a lot of the new product line introductions so I feel a bit like a grizzled veteran sometimes but overall optimistic when I don't let myself get anxiously buried "in the weeds".

The person who designed that preset noticed.  Thank you for giving a shout out about their work and others.  Also thank you for the great sample.

Free licenses for CS versions are added to every account.  To get the additional Sunset Sound modules is 9.99 for those who already have T-RackS Sunset Sound Studio Reverb (even from a group buy or similar, sorry that didn't happen correctly from the go... again... but trust me that's been a road traveled a LOT over these past days since the release).

I wasn't the only one successful but I did keep pushing and my apologies that it wasn't right there out of the gate.

You can also use MixBox in your DAW, it could be useful if you want to experiment with keeping a chain of 500-series style modules at the ready and taking up only one insert or send slot, in that way it is a bit lighter or maybe better stated as a quicker and simpler workflow than a suite like T-RackS.  I'd rather use MixBox for chaining these modules and T-RackS processors as single processors in my workflow.  Of course YMMV so you may still not gel with the aura of MixBox and similar.  That's fair enough, everybody works differently or at least prefers something different.  Otherwise life and creating music and other cool things would probably be pretty boring.

That's the problem I rarely work at all. It's spending too much time on forums and small price DAW stuff.

Well, technically, for those of us who "already" own Mixbox and Sunset Studios it "should" be free...

Still debating if I want to do this for $7.   I've never messed with Mixbox, Snapheap. MXXX Ptacher.  I'm trying to figure out the aura behind these things other the than a container best used by presets as opposed to loading them up in a DAW.

I get annoyed sometimes  with a lot of the extra choices and learning curves many of the third party plugs I bought on sale seem to bring to the table  . It is nice to have some of these things but in the heat of the moment when the Muse is holding my hand and sending me inspiration I have to resist the temptation to delve into the wonderful world of 3 rd party GUI's ...My Muse is a fickle bitch ...she will leave to room if I focus on anything other than her .😉

I think of the professionals who are Pro Tools users.  There are superior DAWs out there but to them time is money.   It's the same with paid amateur bands, Every bass or guitar player has to show their collection.  BTW this happens in churches as well.   Then when you go see legendary acts they use the same instrument and don't waste time trying to get the tone they want.

DAW users are into the headstock syndrome in a different way.

I wonder if I could use my $25 voucher.

This is actually a good deal.  Too bad I just bought the Reason upgrade.

I'm trying to figure out why this would be a good deal.  Maybe short term,

Well-said, Paul.  Ever seen the video of Dave Grohl playing a pink Hello Kitty drum kit? Anyone who claims you can't make a great record with only stock tools just doesn't know what they're doing. Every time I hear the phrase "musical compressor" I just want to gag.

Whats not to like with a Hello Kitty Drumset? Pretty badass if you ask me.

I never understood why the call something a "musical" eq or compressor.  I want to try a non musical one.

There no end to gimmicks in marketing when it comes to reinventing the wheel.

I'll just put an instance of my T-Racks Sunset verb after if I want it, I suppose.  BTY, the "expansion pack" price is what I paid for MicBox way back on a fantastic deal.   That intro price ($49) for the expansion pack is stupid.

    @abacab Yes it is!

That's not too far from me to WUP my Gold/Renn.  Not really a fan of calling presets expansion packs.

I really don't want to be snarky about this.  After all, I just upgraded to Reason 12.

But I can just see the meeting.  What if we made a limited edition version of Scaler 2? Something that did a small fraction of what it does?  Only not as well?

And then let's charge more!  (List price of $69 vs $49 for Scaler 2)

It honestly makes me sad. This is the kind of thing that if Reason had come out with years ago as part of one of their upgrades that truly would have been amazing.  But they seem to live in a parallel universe where nobody knows about what other products exist on the market.

On the other hand, Audiomodern's Chordjam is a product that makes total sense to me, because it does things that Scaler doesn't do.

Don't let the fanboyz hear that.  They seem to be more interesting in making addons instead of working on their outdated DAW.

I'd probably spring for this but $49 is a LOT of money right now.

I do believe some DAWs have this function.

Same here.  I have Max 3.5

I'm not gonna pay $49 for some presets.  It's not worth my time to email support to get $9 presets either.   Maybe they'll fix this.  I get to the point where buying brings confusion it's time to pass.  It's pretty sad your IK plugin is locked out of their effect container.   I don't have that problem with Kilohearts or Melda.

When you are happy with IK they eventually do something to piss you off.  I think I have an idea what abused spouses go thru.

  14. "The real question is: are you good enough to use stock plugins?"

Sometimes these are embarrassing.   It's like seeing a kid who can really play his Squire Strat and you know some chords that you play on your LP.

I think Live users seem to use built in stuff the most.   Youtube is full of videos using the 3xOsc.  I have so many toys for Reason but so many people cranked out stuff using Reason 4,5.

I’m seeing three free Gifts of the Month:

HALO Lite by DHPlugins ($25 value)
Pripyat by Mntra Instruments ($29 value)
PA Triton by Muze ($99.99 value)

    Also Serum presets

I'm trying to discipline myself by avoiding purchases that offer free stuff.

I sure don't need a 24gb piano. Anything with Lite is less tempting.

    Pripyat page was about politics.
