  1. Thanks Wookiee - much appreciated 👍
  2. Rigid Audio | KONTAKT INSTRUMENTS | PRODUCTS | VIEGO A new one from RA. $5 & 10% off if subscribed
  3. Thanks DeeringAmps & emeraldsoul. Thankfully (though S/Cloud does this often). The distortion is part of the Hunters Ampex Ecosystem sound. Really appreciate the feedback.
  4. thegaltieribrothers & Douglas Kirby - I very much appreciate your responses. Thanks Guys.
  5. Thank you David. Very much appreciated.
  6. Fathers Day, and Make Music Day 2020. So I used two new instruments from the Pianobook roster to re-work a scene I wrote for a small film that never got made. About returning soldiers from the 1st WW. Using from Pianobook - Micah's Choir and Hunter's Ampex Ecosystem / BBCSO Discover / Cello Textures by Ben Osterhouse. I hope it works for you.
  7. I hope this is the right place to put this. On the Pianobook community has a ppeared a huge freebie Pianolith – Pianobook It's 11.6 GB unzipped (so make coffee whilst waiting). Has over 300 presets. But does need Kontakt 6 (full). Its creater has a commercial release on KontaktHub. Tons of ambiences etc. And looks very tweakable. I think this would be a decent commercial release. But even better it's free.
  8. Must say a thanks to IKM. I had S/Tank 2.5 XL on a 10 year old SCAN PC. That I just updated from W7/64 to W10/64. This trashed my STank 2.5 (maybe because it was 32bit). But I saw that STank 3CS and STank 4 CS were in my account. And was able to install both and import the STank 2.5XL into both. And I'm sure found instruments I had never seen before ! Now they are all available in a better interface and tweakability. Feel like I've been given a HUGE Freebie.
  9. D/loading the Xylo and Glock. But both need a serial number. And can't see any on the site or in the d/load. (the serial there is for the synth not the Kontakt instruments)
  10. Hi Keith. I used the demo version of Kontakt for quite some time until I was able to afford the Komplete package. It makes you concentrate on making decisions when you have a limited time. But there is another way now. I understand that if you download a freebie from Embertone (can't remember which one). You can register that in Native Access as it is designed for Kontakt Player.. And then NI will offer you a upgrade which is much less than the retail price. Another way is to see if someone is wants to sell their copy of Komplete 11 -12. Then you are sorted as you get all the updates automatically.
  11. Hi Keith. It is a NI Kontakt instrument. There some SFZ across the site. But you do need Kontakt (the player will give you just 15 mins before you have to restart). If you have Kontakt you can place the file wherever you want and navigate to it through "files" in Kontakt.
  12. Thanks bjornpdx. I love Glasgow (a great music scene). I would recommend you check out The Blue Nile. Very much regarded as the songwriters, songwriters. Here's an example where a good vocalist/lyricist works with your material. Tracing Arcs - Homecoming (The Girls Mix) | Jamendo Music | Free music downloads
  13. Hi DeeringAmps. Firstly thanks for listening. It is really just a demo. I wanted to put typical Blue Nile elements into it.If you're familiar with their work some things will make sense. I unfortunately have no voice. As that is what is needed. For 20 years I worked with a pro lyricist, backing singer (Eurythmics, Van Morrison, Eddi Reader, amongst others). And I would present a demo like this to her and in no time her singer sensibility would get it into a shape that I could then expand on further. And make into a "proper" song. It was intersting to look at exactly what are the elements that constitute a Blue Nile song. And a good voice and lyrics are the glue.

    Glasgow Blue

Christian Henson of Spitfire/Pianobook in his series Nerding for the weekend No5. Picked a track from the Blue Nile (Let's go out tonight). I have been an admirer of the Blue Nile since they emerged. And always fancied doing something like this. So here's my homage to them. Using the Mason & Hamlin Model A piano freely available at the pianobook community. It's as if the 80s/90s never went away !
  15. I can confirm it works if pressing enter. On both my W7/W10 rigs. I must have been double clicking or something. So thanks.
  16. Seems to open much quicker now on a W7 purpose built machine. And loads vst much quicker too. Have noticed that when trying to rename any sections on the arranger. It reverts back to the original title (section 1,2,3 etc). So not saving the newly titled parts. But not a biggie.
  17. Thanks DeeringAmps. Reverbs and Compressors. Can't get enough of them !
  18. Thanks Joe. The majority of the pianobook samples are Kontakt. Though there are some SFZ (and someone is looking into converting the Kontakt to SFZ). And some are EXS (Logic). I use the free TX16Wx that functions in CWB that will open EXS files in addition to Kontakt. You can still use the Pianobook instruments in the free Kontakt Player with the limitation of 15 mins before having to restart. Something I did for years until I could afford the full version. But you may know all this anyway, apologies if so.
  19. Thanks Bjorn. There is surprisingly little reverb on the piano sample. The sample itself has been recorded very close to the piano itself and so captures a large amount of body and resonanace. Gives it an intimate sound.
  20. Thanks Tom for the compliments. And glad it had the desired effect 😀
  21. Using more freebies from the Pianobook community. Time to wind down in theses stressful times (or at least until I download the new CWB update!)
  22. Thanks Nigel. Food for thought.
