Hi Firstly, do not use a 5400rpm HD for your second drive. You must use a 7200rpm drive if you are to stick with a HDD. The 5400rpm will really slow you down. You must put the content (not the programs) for Kontakt on this drive. If you have both program and content on your C drive this will just slow things down overall. In fact any Vst program that has content other than the program itself must have that content put on a seperate drive. Your system will run better for it. I have a 3 drive system (all Crucial/Samsung SSD x 1TB), C - Programs, D - Content, E - further Content and backups. The speed is blistering and I have security against failure.

Thanks dasmode. Just checked and it appears thatPro13 supports external vst fx (studio 10 does so suprised 12 pro did not) EDIT : just seen you mentioned 64bit (which is surprising). I therefore assume 64bit is available from within Pro 13.

Some questions. I'm very tempted by this as I have been working on Sony Soundforge Studio10 for I think 10years. It's only 32bit. Works on W10 but have to run as admin every time since a W10 update. So very tempted indeed just to have 13pro and be able to access my 64 bit vst fx within it. However I'm in the UK. So not so sure if I can buy from here (though the site is showing the price in UK £). Do I have to sign up with Humble to get this. Will Magix refuse to register as bought in the US and I'm in the UK. I don't need Sampletude, Acid Pro etc as CWB and Studio One 5 do me well. Would appreciate insight. thanks.

Just checked as not having standalone would have been a deal breaker for me. And Standard is standalone (and will also host) phew !

Logged into my Izotope a/c and I can get Standard 9 for £99. PB are less than half that at£45. It's valid till 1st Aug. So will wait till then to see what freebie PB offer by then.

Been checking the content of Standard against Elements. And it seems to go into the depth I prefer when mastering. I had seen the subscription talk about Izotope and a merger could be on the cards for the future. Not so sure how that would affect me as a user of both Komplete 13 and potentially Izotope 9 Standard. If I invest in IZ now .could I find a better package down the line from both NI and IZ? I'm not an advocate of subscription. So may pull the trigger on this one.

Had an email from PB offering Izotope 9 Standard at 80% off (£44). as I'm a "valued customer" blah,blah, with a special code. Thing is. I have Izotope Elements 9, and found it lacking for mastering, ok for individual tracks. I also have IKM TRacks 5 .It just has a few processors ,(9) and again I don't use it much as I feel it is always running "hot" and use parts on tracks. But do always master on my old Soundforge 10. And trust it. Is there anything about IZ Standard 9 that makes it different to the Elements, IKM, old Soundforge. As it seems a good deal costwise. And anyone else had the email?

I noticed when I placed an octave shift on the trumpet to get that Jon Hassell sound. It altered the tone of the whole thing. The high end of the trumpet went. And the lower freq seemed to get boosted more across the whole. I cut the pads to compensate. Without the shift on the trumpet it did not have the same vibe. I use both Sennheiser and AKG headphones. And it seemed balanced. But this was a fast, inspirational thing done very quickly. And it may well be that my ears were missing things by the end. Glad you like it though.

Update went ok. But it then trashed my Reaktor 6. Had to uninstall and re-install. Not pleased.
