  1. How about this? Cloning the Bootcamp Partition
  2. I'm thinking of starting a campaign over at Apple to release Logic for the PC again...tit for tat Bill
  3. What are you downloading with? A lot of d/l problems are browser related. Bill
  4. I installed rtpMIDI on the PC to get it to work. I remember it was a pain but you'll get it! Bill
  5. Thanks Noel! I'm an "insert/audio fx" kind of guy but I could see where some people prefer drag and drop functionality. My needs are different than most users as I only compose and record in Cakewalk, my mixing and mastering are done elsewhere. Bill
  6. Thanks scook...I have a default Lens with all the clutter gone...I never understood the need for screensets but Lenses rock! Bill
  7. 16" to 28" inches of snow coming tonight and tomorrow...I won't be getting out of the house πŸ˜‰ Bill
  8. For myself I'd like to get my UI real estate cleaned up. I'd like the ability to remove the Multi-Dock and Browser...they serve no purpose for me and take up valuable screen space. Why does everything open in the Multi-Dock so I have to undock the window to move it to another monitor. I'd love to see UI choices...not everyone is working on a 14" laptop...I've got 3 monitors with the ability to add a 4th...I don't need everything in Cakewalk to be opened at the same time let alone all shoved into a single space. I'll have up to 100 tracks going and viewing sperate(and uncluttered) Track view and Console view is very important to me. Generally the left monitor is for Track View, the upper monitor for the Console View, and the right monitor for Synth Rack, Melodyne, plugins, etc. Bill
  9. I've never used the plugin browser, what does it do that the plugin manager doesn't? Bill
  10. Excellent tune and arrangement! Listen to the mix suggestions but in the end it's your piece. Personally I would make the bottom "punchier" and taper the real high end...and widen everything but the bottom. Bill
  11. I've been waiting for the Chieftains to get some synthsπŸ˜‰ Well done! Bill
  12. Good stuff...I really enjoy the depth of your music and the video work is tremendous! Bill
  13. You've got "quirky pop" down to a tee and your vocal tone is perfect for the music! I always enjoy your compositions...this is the kind of pop that should be making the rounds, not the current "pop". If nothing else you have a fan here 😊 Bill
  14. I really enjoyed this...the mix is immediate, not so much roomy. Well-crafted piece and the instrumentation and harmonies are on point. The lyrics are interesting, a more poetic choice of words...I like it! Bill
  15. Well done, the drums have the power you want. I have to agree on the arpeggio synth, needs a little grit or a dirtier tone to fit in better. Just a bit of nit-picking! Bill
  16. Great tune...really catchy! Clear mix and well-defined, especially the guitars! Turned 56 myself a couple of months ago...let me tell you, 56 is the old 56 πŸ˜‰ Bill
  17. I miss the days of printed manuals. I could hold it in my hands, I could read it anywhere. Some companies use a third-party to allow users to purchase an actual printed manual...I don't have high hopes that will happen here. As much as I hate reading on electronic devices I do keep .pdf manuals on my computer, tablet, and phone but they don't get as much use as they would if they existed in the real world πŸ˜‰ Bill
  18. I use 24bit/96khz for a few different reasons. First I like the ability to deliver at different rates without having to upsample, secondly it's my music...why wouldn't I want to create at the highest resolution I can...once you're done there's no going back. A lot of people misunderstand bit rate and sample rate so I use a simple analogy...sample rate is how many times you want to take a snapshot of an analog signal...the higher the rate the more snapshots you take, the closer you come to the original signal. Bit rate- think of bit rate as the amount of data you take each time you take those snapshots...once again the higher the rate the closer to the true analog signal you come. There's other factors but the basics hold for the most part 😎 Now can you distinctly hear the difference? Some say yes, some say no...it's hard to say either way because you can only hear through your own ears. Equipment, specifically convertors will make a large difference in quality as well. At the end of the day choose what works best for you and your needs(and equipment limitations). Bill
  19. ...of course! I started this last night...no idea where it's going but at least I got it started πŸ˜‰ Working title is Born In Fire but most probably will change- Born in Fire Bill
  20. We all have our own methods, good luck! πŸ˜€ Bill
  21. In PRV drag the notes up and down as much as you want...why would you want to script such a simple action? bitman hit the nail on the head! Bill
  22. Although my favorite form is progrock, I'm also into classical, new age, old school metal/hard rock, celtic, 60's and 70's pop, and some jazz fusion so it's hard not to write something related to at least one of the genres Bill
  23. Me: Doc, it hurts when I do this! Doctor: Then don't do that! Just a bit of fun, I don't use IE and haven't in over 10 years or so I'm no help Bill
  24. Turn off the scanner on start up...the only time you need to scan is when you add a new plugin. Bill
