  1. The absolute best option is when a "random" web seller puts an IK item on sale before the GB end date. Not saying that will happen this year because we never know, but it might as it used to happen in the past, then along with an eventual GB extension we can expect much more than 10x1! The second best option are jammies.
  2. I jumped on it without a thought. Since there are only four overlaps, it may make sense to get both. That's what I did--I had TR5 and chose TR5SE as a freebie. And that's exactly what I would do... if I didn't have everything T-racks already 🤠 I completed my bundle in this GB as I was missing only the EQ PA. I don't need it, but I want it EDIT: getting the feeling the IK guys will release new t-racks modules as soon as this GB finished
  3. I'm perfectly fine with just this one
  4. Interesting, I'm still yet to see that on my PC since I installed it about 2 years ago. Have read about it many times, never experienced it myself. Win 10.
  5. Where? In the same studio room where the drum kit is being recorded?
  6. My guess is that the IK guys, in their calculations, expected more of it. There are so many $49, and less, items this year that they've had probably been thinking that people will figure out to enter with additional $49, or so, tier and get even more freebies. Hence the "up to 21x1".
  7. just make it $29 for the upgrade, and not $129, and I'd be happy too
  8. Sorry I mean a measurement file.🤦‍♂️ I've corrected my post. Behringer is still fine, don't worry
  9. I think you're right. That leaves the question how many versions of Audissey mics are there?
  10. That's exactly what I wanted to know as well I did download and install the software and all seems well but it won't run without the calibration file (I mean a measurement file). And I don't have the mic yet.
  11. Only the mic? I don't see that option. Pick the ARC3 bundle as your entry (can't pick hardware as freeware in their group buys unfortunately) or get just the software as one of your freeware and then just buy the mic alone separately. That's what I did.
  12. Would there be any advantage with choosing the IK ARC mic? ARC mic is MEMS tech, both Dayton and Behringer are electret so probably better s/n ratio than MEMS but don't hold the performance consistency with time or due to environmental conditions like the MEMS do. ARC software is tuned best for MEMS, also the Mic Room plugin can take the MEMS sound and tune it to sound like a different mic and with great results. Dayton has the calibration file so that shouldn't be a problem for measuring. Behringer is good and cheap but doesn't have calibration file, you can get a general calibration for it from the web. MEMS for consistency, Dayton for better s/n, Behringer for pennies. Each has it's own plus .
  13. I don't doubt the XLN guys can do a contemporary GUI, just look at XO, and I can easily imagine AD3 given similar modern GUI plus added more expanded songwriting tools in vein of the ones like ED2/SD3. Would I be happy with such updates? Heck yes! Would I want to shell out another $100/200/whatever for it? Errrm... I have no problems whatsoever with getting quality drum tracks from AD2 and the adpaks that I've chosen. And I do not miss anything much from the sound of their kits, especially the more recent ones, even when I try to compare and listen to the Toontrack alternatives. Should I ever miss the songwriting features there's always Toontrack at the reach of my hand (and for another $100-200). Last thing I'd be looking for are bugs and/or breaking compatibility with old projects. Now I'm off to listen to this Claustrophobic kit
  14. Just be aware that that mic probably wouldn’t be individually calibrated, but you should be able to find a generic calibration file. The individually calibrated ones would around $70 (like the Dayton EMM6). For similar price ($70) you can buy the IK's MEMS mic and be done with it. The €30 mic is not a bad idea but if you're planning on getting TR5 Mic Room in the group buy then there's another way of using the same MEMS mic for measurements and then for some recordings.
  15. Good question! I know I can get away with some stock Sonitus plugins for mixing, also many other brands, that won't charge my CPU at all, or use a few TR5 instances and run out of power quickly. How's the ARC plugin?
  16. Yeah, same here, I usually don't plan to buy something and then resell unless some extra condition happen. But this GB is all about getting the gear I want! 🤤
  17. They go away when you sell the original buy-in. Can anyone confirm this? I only know the jampoints are going back down you can even get in the minus level if you resell too much
  18. It used to be in the past that anything bought with Gear Credits became automatically NFR. Not sure it is still the case though, might be worth checking out.
  19. Now it's getting more electrifying! Should I go to bed or watch the counter... decisions decisions
  20. I much prefer sauerkraut salad!
  21. Now that's a weird hill!!! A greenberg instead of iceberg.
