    Does CbB Support MPE?

Here is a description of MPE from https://support.roli.com/support/solutions/articles/36000027933-what-is-mpe- ROLI instruments use MPE to transmit their dimensions of touch as standard MIDI messages on multiple channels to achieve expressive polyphony. Each note is sent on an individual channel Messages which would normally influence all notes (like pitch bend or continuous controllers) can be expressed polyphonically. Therefore it looks like MPE uses standard MIDI but sends on all channels. In CbB if you have 16 consecutive MIDI tracks, set their channels 1 to 16 respectively, arm them all and set them all to record simultaneously, you would be able to record a performance from an MPE keyboard controller. Each track will be populated with the relevant notes. What sounds (and MPE support) you get would be up to your synth, be it a software synth or a hardware synth. Perhaps a better question would be, what VSTi plugins support MPE MIDI data. Meldaproduction Msoundfactory is an example of a VSTi that claims to fully support MPE See: https://www.meldaproduction.com/MSoundFactory
  2. I have definitely never had this issue with Meldaproduction plugins (I am now on 14.16 - not BETA) Maybe Cakewalk needs reinstalling. See: https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034066393-Clean-Install-Cakewalk-by-BandLab
  3. The latest version of Bandlab Assistant is 6.4. Is this the version you're using? This can be downloaded from here: https://www.bandlab.com/download/assistant/windows As a test, I opened up the Bandlab Assistant on my PC, logged off. When I logged back on, I was presented with a Firefox browser session asking me to log on from there. I did. Then it said I could close the Firefox window to return to Bandlab Assistant. That quick process logged me back in Bandlab Assistant. My PC details are in my signature.
  4. Yes, that is a good idea as well (and I also did this). The reason I posted the link I did, is because it shows you the latest version numbers of all their products in one place rather than having to go to each product's page individually.
  5. Are you planning on getting a real audio interface any time soon?
  6. To check the versions of all of Applied Acoustics Systems products from the one location, check here: All of the full versions have also been updated. https://www.applied-acoustics.com/support/ (Search for “Latest installers and manuals”)
  7. A couple of things to try. Try disabling C-states and Intel Speedsteep (This is done in the PC's BIOS and the method varies between PCs). Try Start + run "control powercfg.cpl,,1" (without quotes) and set CPU Min and Max to 100%. In preferences | Audio | Configuration File try adjusting the following: EnableSetThreadIdealProcessor = False MixThreadCount = {number of cores minus 1} You might like to exit Cakewalk by Bandlab, go to the following folder and make a copy of the AUD.INI file before doing this: %appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core
  8. What audio interface do you have and does it come with native ASIO drivers? (ASIO4ALL does not count and should be avoided if possible)
  9. I have many Meldaproduction plugins and I have had zero issues installing and using them within Cakewalk by Bandlab 2020.11 Build 99 (or any earlier version). I am currently using 14.16b (Beta) of the Meldaproduction plugins. The first thing you might like to try is uninstalling and then reinstalling the Microsoft Vdist Runtimes. The last Microsoft Vdist Runtimes can be downloaded from here: See: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

    Playback audio issue

What driver mode are you using. For the Focusrite Scarlett you would want to use ASIO as the driver mode in Cakewalk. Also, make sure you're using the latest Focusrite Scarlet drivers.
  11. What are you using the play the exported file with? Windows may be configured to apply its own modifications to the sounds played using Windows playback applications (EQ, effects, volume, etc) Cakewalk, on the other hard, is likely not doing this. This would especially be true if you are using ASIO for the driver mode within Cakewalk.
  12. I'm afraid there is not.... not for soft synths anyway. Only hardware synths allow this as part of their respective instrument definition files. But you know what. That would make one hell of a feature request (for the already huge list).
  13. Don't use the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth - IMHO, it's rubbish. Insert the synth TTS-1 to use to play you MIDI tracks. (I am assuming that the MIDI files you're opening are in general MIDI format. If you don't have a hardware MIDI port installed and you open a MIDI file, an instance of TTS-1 will automatically be created for you with the MIDI channels already correctly assigned. If you do have a hardware MIDI port installed and you open a MIDI file, the MIDI tracks will have their outputs set to the first hardware port they find. In that case you can insert the soft synth TTS-1. Then you can redirect the MIDI outs of all the MIDI tracks to TTS. I am pretty sure that the tracks MIDI channels will be correctly set. This may step you in the right direction. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zY5kh6geRZo
  14. I am totally going to buy plugins that can do the same with what I already have......
  15. Currently there is a bug that if you have MXXXCore, MCreativeFXBundle (which gives you Msuperlooper, MFilter and MTurboReverbLE) and the paid version of MFreeFXBundle (Which gives you MEqualizer), it still does not activate Mturboreverb. This is current as of 14.16b beta. According to the KVR forums, this should be fixed in the next Melda Beta 14.16 update.
  16. I do this with Studioware panels with CAL script programmed on some sliders. For instance, I have a random velocity slider that, when moved, introduces random fluctuations to the velocities of select note events. The more I move the slider up, the more the random deviations occur. I also have a button on the same Studioware panels that, when pressed, asks for an amount of maximum deviation. This then introduces slight random fluctuations to the timings of select note events. I have also written a CAL script that lays down slight random pitch bend events to simulate slight random pitch variations. Even though CAL is not officially supported in the later Cakewalk version, learning CAL can greatly expand the MIDI editing possibilities in Cakewalk.
  17. I have written a couple of CAL scripts that do this. 2, 3, and 4 note split (Which is enough to suit my needs....)
  18. You do not edit them in the event view. However, to edit specific automation nodes, you can head to the automation lane. Then you can right click on the specific node and select properties. Then you can enter the values numerically.
  19. I noticed that too.... and could not resist the particular price they were asking for MMixingFXBundle
  20. There is. I have MTurboCompLE and an upgrade to MTurboComp FULL is listed as one of the upgrade options.
  21. Can you give us a bit more information about your set set up..
  22. Is this with “Fast Bounce” on or off? (try both)
  23. Some more info about your system and configuration would be handy.....
  24. My money is on a plugin doing this
