Yes, I always set MIDI track’s MIDI channel to a specific channel rather than “none”. I even have RechannelMIDI=1 added in Preferences - File - Initialization File (Advanced).

I use all 16 MIDI channels from Cakewalk to my external 16 part (16 MIDI channel) multitimbral SW1000XG. It's worked that way for the last 21 years using many iterations of Cakewalk (including CbB 2022.11 Build 21) So Cakewalk definitely sends MIDI events on all 16 MIDI channels.

There are many ways to edit CC events in Cakewalk. My preferred method is to use the Piano Roll View to edit CC64 events. On most synths, CC64 > 0 to 63 is the sustain pedal lifted, CC64 > 64 to 127 is the sustain pedal Pressed. I usually have a CC64 > 0 event at the start of any MIDI track.

I just copied an Audio clip to the clipboard. Then I pasted it multiple times to multiple random times and tracks. It worked fine here. At no time did the clipboard empty. At no time did I have to recopy the source.

No mention of any synth plugin? If you have recorded MIDI, then it needs to be sent to a synth plugin to hear anything. By “Cakewalk app” I assume you mean Cakewalk by Bandlab

The documentation display images correctly on my PC. It must be something on your end. My default browser is Firefox 111 Beta 2 I just tried dragging a 3 minute 21 second audio here on a PC configured as per my signature usi9ng the Melodyne method. This extracted the correct tempo for the given audio file. My version of Melodyne is Editor version 5.3.1.0.13 (though it should work with Melodyne essentials) This feature is definitely working (even on my circa 2014 PC)

I am not sure that you can, as the plugin manager deals with single discrete VSTs at a time - Cakewalk would see Kontakt as a single discrete VSTi. On a side note, I am imagining that saving Simple Instrument Tracks (SITs) as track templates, with an instance of Kontakt with the appropriate instrument(s) loaded might be close to what you are after. Note: I do not have any version of Kontakt, so one one who does, might be able to blow away every thing I just said.
