  1. I also wish Waves would do away with their plugin "shell" method. It is annoying to have to wait for a full scan anytime Waves updates or adds a single plugin. And while they are at it, how about granting 2 licenses per plugin, like most other companies, huh?

I'm in the same boat.  I have had this conversation with @abacab - I used to think there wasn't such a thing as too many synths, but now I think differently.  (Unless its hardware synths - you can't have too many of those).

At some point, I will probably get Fathom.

I have Fathom Pro, and all the sound packs. One of the best sounding synths out there! Very powerful semi-modular synth, with tons of options that allow you to build up your own signal chain and modulations.

But I struggle with the GUI, especially if I have not used it in a while. Not entirely intuitive to dig into. The synth is developed by a one-man shop, who has generally been very accessible via KVR forums, but he has shown little interest in changing the GUI or workflow. He does not care for skeuomorphic design.

Since I now have Voltage Modular by Cherry Audio, I wish to pursue my modular ramblings in their entirely skeumorphic and intuitive workflow. It has infinite possibilities! 😎

    2 for $19 or 2 @ $19 ?

I guess it depends what you have already...in my case there are 15 assorted packs @ $19.

I think it's slightly misleading the way they describe their older sound packs as being for the latest version. Ok, they work in the latest version so technically they are Chromophone 3 sound packs (for example) but it would be more accurate to just call them Chromaphone sound packs (or whatever synth) rather than by implication suggest that they are made specifically for the latest version.

You need to log into your AAS account, go to "Registered Products", and look under "Upgrades & Offers".

They offered me 2 for $19 to complete my Chromaphone collection. Humanized & Transmutation. $19 and done! 👍

I've got some issues to with SampleTank 4 CS. This month i bought some ST soundpacks due to the 25th anniversary buy and when im closing my ST4 window CnB just shouts down. I tried some settings, till i found that it saved my root folder 2 times. After i deleted the second folder it was working again... But sometimes it happens again, regardless. I dont know why this happens, but at least its not everytime im closing the ST4 plugin window now. IK Instruments are really buggy, i also had some issues with Miroslav 2.

    Agree 100%

    Under the radar plugins

    Waves Tune

    Waves Tune Real Time

    Greg Wells  stuff

    C1 comp

    F6 EQ

    All the Renn stuff

    All the H stuff

I have the H stuff as well, but haven't even looked at it since getting T-RackS MAX. And Mixbox.

  6. As far as effects go, I have some great alternatives to Waves, except for the Abbey Road Collection. There is some seriously cool stuff in there that is not really duplicated elsewhere, IMO. Oh yeah, and Scheps Omni Channel. :)

  7. I logged into my AAS account today, and lo and behold, they are offering me 2 for $19. 😎

This new one, Humanized from Daniel Stawczyk, plus another called Transmutation, that they added since I last completed my Chromaphone 3 collection. I have many other Daniel Stawczyk packs, and really like his sound design! Also have several of his for Ultra Analog VA-3. Good stuff!!!

  8. I already have V Collection 8, and they are offering me a deal on the SQ80 bundle for $49. Not sure I need the SQ80. Just picked up the Korg Collection 3 a while back and still digging thru that. Don't think I need any more synths for a while, LOL! Oh wait, I heard Cherry Audio has a new synth release in a couple more days...

V Collection 8 is pretty decent, so grab it for a good price while you can! :)

  9. The only thing Waves that I really care about is the Abbey Road Collection, and a few of their synths, Codex, Elements, and Flow Motion. I don't see any WUP in their near future, as the v12 seems pretty complete to me as is. But if Waves offers some compelling feature updates, maybe someday, but until then I will pass on WUP...

ASIO4ALL works for some and not for others (and causes other PC system problems for those that it doesn't work for).

I was pretty clear about this when I stated: "It can be, if you don't know what you are doing with it."

Phraser is BROKEN in Sampletank 4.

I move a groove file onto the C2 key  of the phraser section.

Enable it in the instrument list but when I play ther C2 key it just plays the normal C2 sound instead of triggering the phrase.

This is with the latest update.

Pretty pissed off with this software  atm.

Nice sounds but alot of bugs.

Ran into this last night. @mibby : the backing tracks were done with MODO drums and MODO bass and could give you a sense of what MODO drum can sound. For me, that likes the Gilmour sound, it is one of the best demonstration of these IK stuff! The sound he achieves with Amplitube is amazing! And the backing track is simple but effective and convincing. Of course, it all starts with someone who plays well! He is/was the guitarist for 'Australian Pink Floyd' show.

Wow! Sounds like the real Gilmour guitar!!!

I think it’s unlikely that Essentials will be available for $60 on BF.  But other versions of The Orchestra will be 40%. off and people might want to figure that into their decision on whether to get this

Orchestra Complete 2 full price is $459.

Orchestra Essentials is $99. Upgrade to Complete 2 from Essentials is $359. So $458  total if you buy both now. Save a buck.

If Complete 2 upgrades go on sale at -40%, that would be ($99 for Essentials + $274.80 for the Complete 2 upgrade) = $373.80 for Orchestra Complete 2.
