  1. Sounds fine here! Using it in a DAW with the performance meter running, I can see that this Syntronik instrument is using less than 1% CPU with 6 notes playing concurrently. Check your volume levels as suggested, and maybe try increasing your audio buffer size.
  2. Fyi, the group buy is on it's last day, and is currently about to hit 4,000 participants, standing at 3,952!!! I'd say it was a success!!!
  3. Yep, that's basically what they were saying... 😜
  4. I saw a discussion of the GS-V issues over on the KVR forums. It appears that the issue is related to not all of the zip files are installed. But since I passed on GS-V, I have no details to share on the fix here...
  5. No. They just added the new versions of select plugins, added a few new ones, and deleted some that had become obsolete. The article in the magazine gives an overview, and there is a PDF in the File Silo that gives an overview in more detail. Here is a list of the included instruments in the new plugin suite: Here is a list of the effects in the new plugin suite: Note from the CM editor:
  6. As I recall, Syner-V was a weird install. It placed a lot of the sample content into a separate folder. That caused errors when trying to open presets. But after I figured out what the installer had done, it was a simple fix to drag them over to the main Syner-V sample folder.
  7. That's usually the case, unless a VSTi offers MIDI out with the full chord/pattern. UJAM apparently does not offer that option. Some arpeggiators do offer that, and then you can record that pattern to a MIDI track. It's not like they are protecting their patterns, as you can easily just drag them onto your track timeline... Good write-up though! Thanks for sharing!
  8. The default Syntronik 2 Multi location is fine, and is located in the Syntronik 2 folder. For me that's at "D:\Syntronik 2\Multis".
  9. As far as I know you will need the CM June 22 issue #308 to unlock v2.0 plugins (just released). Older CM back issues should get you v1 plugins. Edit: CM #309 July also has the new plugin suite.
  10. I grabbed the CM deal through Zinio back in February. Enjoying it so far, especially the updated v2.0 of the CM plugin archive! They have added the updated versions of u-he Zebra CM and Bazille CM to the archive, among other things.
  11. If you use the "Install to" and then "Reinstall library" features in IK Product Manager, you can place everything in the Syntronik 2 folder. This is not the default, but once you do this all Syntronik 1 and Syntronik 2 content will be installed in the Syntronik 2 path. It then looks like a complete duplicate of Syntronik 1, and you only need to configure the Syntronik 2 content path in the settings for everything. If you have already downloaded the installers, they should remain in the Product Manager folder until you delete them or archive them, so that they can be reinstalled if necessary. Regarding Syntronik 1, I haven't noticed anything missing since I deleted my Syntronik 1 folders. But I did wait until everything was in and working exclusively from the Syntronik 2 folder before I deleted anything. Hope this helps!
  12. I decided that I could live without ever installing the GS-V just on principle. 🙄 31 GB is a ridiculously large sample set for a single instrument!!! I don't care how rare or good it may sound, I have alternatives for that type of sound already. Just a heads up though, there are 21 multis which I found that call for GS-V. So I hid them from Syn 2 in the multis folder (renamed with a fake file extension) so I won't have to put up with the crashes and/or missing sounds with them. 13. That's the same thing that I did. Installed everything in the Syntronik 2 folder, with my Syntronik Deluxe still in my SampleTank 3 folder. Then I ran the Windows uninstaller (in Programs & Features) for Syntronik Deluxe. Afterwards I went through the SampleTank 3 folder and deleted all things "Syntronik". Recovered a nice chunk of real estate on my drive that Deluxe was using, and all is good here now! Make sure to backup any Syntronik Deluxe presets or multis that you have created, as those will not be included in the Syntronik 2 installers. Then copy them into the respective folders in your Syntronik 2 path.
  14. Glad you found them! Just make sure that you have have fully installed all of the synths and presets before you attempt to load the multis. In my experience trying to load a multi without all of the necessary presets available in the path will usually cause Syntronik to crash. Occasionally it leaves a blank slot, but this usually causes a crash for me. How do I know this? I declined to install the GS-V at 31 GB. So I had to hide about 21 multis in the Syn 2 and Syn 2 MAX multis folders that called up the GS-V. So yep, lots of work, but saving 31 GB of SSD space was worth it!
  15. You need to select from the last promo in your promotions list (#32) to trigger the addition of the multis to your account. Peter posted this earlier today:
  16. Well the sale was up for 30 days...
  17. I can see how some folks might perceive the bundle vs. a la carte approach as different. But there really is no material difference here since either way it's all a "not for resale" thing, and you get everything included in MAX, including the new MAX multis! Make music and be happy!
  18. Not to rock the boat, but here's the web page from May 26th via the Wayback Machine >>> https://web.archive.org/web/20220526101731/https://www.ikmultimedia.com/syntronik2gb/
  19. I used the IK Product Manager to download and install the synths. Rather smooth and mostly trouble free. Have you tried that yet?
  20. In general I agree that more engines are not really necessary, unless you cannot do what you need to with a mainstream engine like Kontakt. For example, I'm not crazy about the Spitfire Audio Player, and not sure that was really necessary. Plus you have to load an instance on each track. I see a parallel with Soundpaint and MNDALA. Soundpaint was created to enable a new way of handling velocity and morphing, which obviously needed an engine written from the ground up. This description of the MNDALA technology is a bit more mysterious, but it sounds like Mntra are also attempting to break some new ground... They are a small company, so we will just have to wait and see how things work out. Their stuff does sound good, and it seems to have a loyal following on VI-Control.
  21. I'm going through the MAX multis right now, and opening any crashing multi in a text editor to see what instruments it calls for. I now have all but one of the "new" 11 synths installed, and have reinstalled many, but not all of the original 22 synths. The new one that I left out is the GS-V at 31GB, yikes!!! I may install more of the original 22 synths beyond my favorite dozen or so, depending on disk space... I will probably go into the multis folder and rename (hide) any multi files that call for synths I don't plan to install.
