  1. I use often use the FX Chain Module to put   just a single plugin a various positions in the ProChannel.  It would be nice if the FX Chain Module could be resized such that you would only see the one plugin so as to not take up so much vertical space in the PC.  It would be even better if it would auto resize.  Just a thought.  Thanks.

Thanks Francois.  Very helpful. This might well be exactly what I'm looking for.  I noticed that many of the cheaper models boast about being bass heavy and that's what I was trying to avoid.

    Thanks again.

Don't forget to take one earbud out and share the mix with a friend.

It drives me NUTS when I see people doing that!!!

(i just bought a pair of Sennheiser CX300S'.  i'm not sure how "average" they are, but they sound pretty good)

What??!  I thought that's how it was done!

    Thanks.

I just bought a pair of Beyerdynamic Soul Byrd earbuds.  If you like their headphones, you'll like these.  They're plugins rather than wireless (which was important to me).   I shopped around and was able to get them for $80.  There are quite a few reviews online:

  5. Hi all.  I don't know if this is the right forum for this question so feel free to move it if necessary.

I'm wanting to get a pair of ear buds to use as a listening system for mix translation but I'm not sure what to buy.  I'm looking for something that will be in line with what the average listener uses.  I see most of the models are designed to use with a smart phone and I don't want/need that, ( I don't have one...).  I need to be able to plug them into the headphone out on my interface.

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

  6. Don't the Superior kits all come with drum maps?     There are also some GM maps for various Superior kits in the Groove Monkee Midi packs.  However, because most of these maps contain all the i-mappings as well, they are rather large and cumbersome.  Because of this, I've had to make my own.   It's time consuming but not that difficult.  I always end up moving the kit pieces around so as too keep them together.  It's much easier to edit a midi track that way.

I'll try and dig up what I have.

  7. Did the Clip Envelopes editing problem get fixed?

I've had this problem for some time now.  Every now and the , for no particular reason, clip envelopes will not respond to the smart tool.  I have to add nodes and adjust the envelope up or down.  Typically, restarting the project will fix it but not always.  I brought this up several years ago and I think others were experiencing the same issues.

    Thanks.

Curious: which 'verb plug are you using? I know it shouldn't matter, but then, CbB shouldn't be locking up when you sidechain the compressor.

Maybe there's a specific reverb that doesn't like being next door to that compressor while it's being sidechained.

I'm using Valhalla Plate but that's the same verb I used in the test project mentioned above and it worked fine.  That's a good idea though, Eric.  I'll try it out.

    Thanks.

    @Paul G, I really like @reginaldStjohn's idea,

You can submit a support request here: https://help.cakewalk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000025633

There is a place where you can attach the project file in the support request.

The Cakewalk by BandLab developers are really working at making the program more reliable so corrupt project files that act strange can really help them make the program better for all users.

    Thanks, I will.

Doesn't sound like your doing anything wrong. It could be a corrupt project. Can you try to create a new project and just re-create tracks to reproduce your side chain and see if it still happens?  You can also contact tech support and send them your project to see if they can reproduce it.

    Thanks Reginald.  I'll try that.

Not here. I just tried creating a new project with

    • an Audio track containing a couple of clips added to it and set up the track to loop
    • Added a reverb bus w/ FabFilter Pro-R and Sonitus Comp in the FX Rack
    • Added sends from the audio track to the reverb bus and Sonitus Comp side chain
    • Ran for some time adjusting the reverb and compressor.

    Worked OK.

    Running CbB 25.5.0.31 on Win10 v1809.

    Similar CPU and RAM.

Thanks Steve.  Are you placing the plugins in the FX bin or the Pro Channel?  I can't see that making any difference though.

  12. I've tried several different compressors in this scenario and CbB continues to lock up, (it's also locked the computer up as well).  I must be doing something wrong.  I'm placing  the compressor in the verb bus behind the verb plugin.  I'm creating a send from the vox track which outputs to the comps SC input.  It should work.  What am I missing?  Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

  13. I side chained the Sonitus comp in a verb bus last night to duck the verb.  CbB became unstable and then locked up.  The file became corrupted.  Is there an issue with the Sonitus comp in CbB?  I use it all the time but not SC'd.  Any ideas on what am I doing wrong?

    Thanks for any suggestions
