  1. I don't actually use it, I'm just a supporter in the way of $$$ I'm pretty much TONEX only. I was hoping Audio Assault would get on the Capture style of things, although they have a long ways to go, and certainly more and varied Packs to be released. I'm kinda hoping the same thing with Nembrini, I keep buying his stuff as it's released and never use it, maybe he will get into the Capturing as well someday, along with Kuassa and Softube, not that Softube needs any support but . . . , and OVERLOUD TH-U, they have got the speaker cab side of things pretty much sorted out, and some very good RIG packs, I just buy that which tickles my fancy there, though again never use it, although I do use the SuperCabinet part of it as an IR loader at times, and their Jensen's are excellent. Then you got ReValver and Positive Grid who were both on a very similar road very early on, but they both would need a lot of work, the new ReValver is somewhat disappointing and I haven't touched the BIA stuff in a good while, the Hendrix Pack was fairly good, but that new thing OMNYSS wasn't that good, at least IMO

Don't get me wrong, it does all get used, certain people like and want certain things, that's just my personal choice, I get people coming through that want all kinds of stuff, so it all gets used, just not by me.

anyway, enough jibber jabber from me, all the best to you 👍

This was the advantage of the "pre-Amp Locker" products, there weren't permanent updates, you could focus on making music!

I don't like the "new" Audio Assault, I prefer the legacy!

Have you given the latest a shot?, they've been moving fast on the updates lately, the release notes are interesting, and seem like they are moving in the right direction, apart from including that NAM thing, I would rather they stayed alone.

  3. He's done more since then, and you can just use your headphones, he explains something like most/alot places that you upload your stuff to are requiring both versions now days, stereo and atmos/immersive and how that is only going to increase, and how most users listen with some sort of headphones/in ear things.

Anyway, I just thought I would let you know.

    All the best. 👍

Supposed to be low latency.  Would like to get actual numbers from RTL Utility.

With the Quantum HD, the signal arrives before it's sent, so the actual numbers are negative. 😲

  5. @jesse g hey jesse g, I remember you were interested in atmos/immersive stuff, I pointed you earlier to some of Craig Andertons 'Fridays Tip of the Week' for Studio One, he has since done a couple more on that subject that you may find of interest.

    https://blog.presonus.com/category/friday-tip-of-the-week/

Just search back a little and you should find them, you may also find them in the news feed on the right side when you fire up Studio One, not sure how far back that goes though. But if you are into that stuff you may well find them useful.

As with a lot of things, repetition is very helpful. The first two times I tested S1 thinking I might switch, I just couldn't get comfortable with it. The third time was the charm, it now makes sense to me and I like it very much!

That was pretty much the same for me back in 2015,  the apparent smallness of things put me right off first time, I can't remember how it actually went, but I kept going back to try it again, and after the 2nd or 3rd try there was no turning back, still on the straight and narrow and so glad I jumped ship way back then.

Fluid IRs are an advanced form of impulse responses that encapsulate more detailed sonic characteristics compared to traditional IRs. Unlike regular IRs that merely mimic a speaker's frequency response, Fluid IRs also reproduce the speaker's dynamic behavior and harmonics. This enhancement delivers a tone that is more robust, lifelike, and direct, with better management of the lower frequencies

Starting from version 1.4.26 for Desktop and 1.4.55 for iOS, all cabinets in TH-U and all of the SuperCabinet libraries have been upgraded to include Fluid IRs, which are provided to users as a free update.

Now that's pretty cool, they are updating all the standard IR's and all the SuperCabinet Libraries are being updated.

Maybe at long last TH-U might actually be useful for something more than a Cab/IR loader, maybe it will actually sound good, I'll believe it when I hear it though.

    Does that count?

  8. I don't know what is wrong with every company just offering both straight up, a Subscription and a Perpetual License and let the user buy what they choose, which is essentially what PreSonus has done, if you want a subscription you can buy it, if you want a Perpetual License you buy it.  I would surely be pissed off if they took away the Perpetual license, don't know if i would be pissed off enough to leave, but . . .

The only thing wrong, well one of with that Hybrid stuff from PreSonus is that you would have to pay again every year to keep your perpetual license up to date. With the 'real' Perpetual license I only have to pay ever 24 to 30 months (2 to 2 1/2 years) thus far, started 2015 on v3, its now 2024 on v6. Updates or upgrades whatever from 1 version to the next is only $149, which you can get much cheaper at dealers, I use Best Service, last one was $109, not bad for a couple of years+, not as good as REAPER though, but way better 😉

  9. Thank you for your fine responses, now deviating a little but staying with the 'Soon' theme, what would you say would be the outer limit in time to the usage of the word 'soon'. For example 'Coming Soon' when would it be no longer 'soon', 1 month, 2 months, 8 months, a year, or is it open ended?

A lot of folk seem to be unhappy with Cakewalks use and understanding of the term 'soon', what gives?

I don't believe it would align with Promidi's post above, so what is it to be understood as. and are people right to be unhappy, angry even with the Cakewalk 'Soon'?

I'd like a definition of "jibba jabba," and I don't mean reposting my "Old Euthymia" bourbon label. 😂

Ah, you need no definition of 'jibba jabba', being a fine exponent of the art of 'jibber jabbery '

The label was a fine piece of work used quite humorously.
