  1. I'm gonna go with never. Universal Audio will never change that Windows driver.
  2. I'm glad you're not having issues. I was getting a blue screen and an auto reboot, then another blue screen when the OS came back up. Two in a row was the pattern...then it would boot properly. But it's not Cakewalk. I downloaded a Cubase trial and got blue screens immediately. Buggy Universal Audio driver for Windows, I guess. Now that I've seen it, I'm finding this to be an issue all over the internet. I just didn't pick up on that problem before I bought it. This Lynx Aurora isn't having that issue. And I'll be checking out the RME UFX II (USB) this weekend, just out of curiosity. I'm reading fantastic things about the RME Windows USB drivers. I'm really curious to see if USB can compete with the Thunderbolt low latency.
  3. I'm using the latest driver - V2 build 25 - Jan 2022 It seems, actually, that the problem is only when I turn off MMCSS in the Lynx ASIO panel while the Enable MMCSS for ASIO in Cakewalk isn't checked. Clicks...pops...dropouts. I'm getting good performance with a couple of different configs with those 3 options. I'm just not entirely clear on what you suggest is the best. Shut off MMCSS in the Lynx driver and enable both options in Cakewalk?
  4. Reggie...I abandoned the x6. I was getting blue screens every other time I changed buffer or sampling rate.
  5. Noel...I switched to Lynx Aurora Thunderbolt because the Universal Apollo x6 was blue screening over and over. I'm still having to turn off MMCSS in Cakewalk with this Lynx driver.
  6. Yes...that did it. Thank you. I actually installed a Cubase demo last week to see if I still got blue screens outside of Cakewalk. I did. Excellent diagnosis, sir. Thank you.
  7. Thank you. I'm seeing the Generic and Realtek Asio driver folders. You're saying delete these?
  8. I abandoned the Universal Audio x6 interface because of an inordinate number of blue screens when switching sampling rates and buffers. It was brutal. I moved on to a Lynx Aurora (n). I have that installed on Thunderbolt and it's working great until I open Cakewalk to try to set it up. When I open Cakewalk I'm getting a box that pops up and says "Generic Low Latency ASIO Driver". It pops up and disappears over and over...almost so fast I can't see it, and I can't get past that to setup. Lil help? What does this indicate? Never seen this one before.
  9. Yes. Thank you. That is turned off. But what I figured out last night is that this happens in the clips pane, but not in the mixer view. I CAN shut it off in the mixer view. But generally, with my work flow, I'm turning monitoring on and off in the clips pane, so it's a bit of a drag.
  10. I'm trying to figure out why input monitoring on some of my MIDI tracks gets stuck ON. It goes from regular Input Echo to Input Echo Auto Thru and I can't get it to shut off. Thanks.
  11. I'd suggest you simply record your doubles on separate tracks. Then, correct each with Melodyne as needed. You can copy tracks and play games with Melodyne's pitch modulation...but but to me, nothing sounds as good as doubling with actual performances. There's something about the textural differences between two vocal tracks that can add up to one great track.
  12. I just now got a chance to sit down and apply the All Notes Off option. Definitely works for me...no noticeable delay. Thanks!
  13. Hey Bit. I've had others that I won't be able to recall...but currently, I have a problem in one track with the SI-String Section. Sticks every time I stop playback unless I stop playback after the last passage about 3/4 through the song.
  14. @msmcleod Thank you. I'm generally running 4 or 5 VST's tops, so it shouldn't be much of an issue. You're right about the sustain pedal. I usually notice stuck notes on midi sections that I use the sustain pedal on. And it's even more frequent when I split a midi clip and move stuff around. I was wondering if that was causing the sustain to remain in sustain mode because sometimes I can click on the clips pane well after the midi clips and push play twice...that stops the stuck note.
  15. I noticed this in the new update: Optionally send Send All Notes Off message to VST plug-ins Using certain VST plugins can result in stuck notes after playback stops. You can now optionally send "All Notes Off" messages to all VST plugins when the transport stops, by enabling Send All-Notes-Off Messages on Stop in Edit > Preferences > File - VST Settings. This option is off by default to avoid incurring delays when stopping playback when using many virtual instruments. I've used Cakewalk to record only audio for 27 years. You heard me...lol. But I've begun learning to use the MIDI features over the last few months. I've been having this stuck note issue on occasion so I'm glad to see an option to stop it. But I'm curious to know...is there something that I'm doing to cause these stuck notes, or is it just a nuisance we all have to deal with? Also...with this option enabled, roughly, how long of a delay are we talking about when stopping playback? Thanks.
  16. This is typical behavior when picture cache needs cleared? Thanks. Obviously, something got wonky when I installed the EA version the day before I installed the official release. I've been working on this song since 10/29/22 and I had no issues until these back-to-back updates. And the only project with this problem was the only one that got opened and worked on in that 24 hours.
  17. So file it under WTF. Seems that when I open another project first, this one finally shows the clips. But when I push play, they disappear. Then, the next time I got the waveforms to show, I clicked in the clips pane first and it played fine. Closed it and tried again...no waveforms. So I opened another project again so this one would show the waveforms once again. It played again when I clicked in the clips pane first. So, this time, I decided to save the project to see if that would fix the problem. And currently, I've been able to close Cakewalk, relaunch and open this project 3 times with it acting as it should. Solved....I hope.
  18. I'm curious to see if this will upload correctly. Video of the clips disappearing when I hit play. IMG_6204.MOV
  19. I just opened every project I've worked on since March and they all load up and play fine. But not this one from last night. In fact, I just opened it again and it showed the wave forms this time. But as soon as I pushed play, they all disappeared.
  20. @Noel Borthwick Last night I loaded up that EA version and did your test. Then I worked on this song. Tonight, the new release installed...and now there are no audio clips showing in the clips pane. All audio files are still in the same folder they were in last night. I opened two other projects that I didn't wortk on last night and they are opening and working. This is why I hate unnecessary updates. What do I do now?
  21. Also, there's a strange little bug in that MMCCS check box. The Enable MMCSS for ASIO Driver option is not available until I click on Use MMCSS. But if I uncheck Use MMCSS and close preferences and then open it again, the MMCSS for ASIO is still checked....and now it's not grey. A little wonky...not sure what to make of it. Running great without either checked. I'll leave it alone...
  22. I captured it with it off, as you requested. I tried running Cakewalk with MMCSS on and off. And "for ASIO driver" on and off. With and without load balancing. All options with MMCSS on caused issues.
  23. @Noel Borthwick I installed that EA build and I think I captured what you wanted to see.
  24. Ok, @Noel Borthwick. I'll install that tonight and we'll see what it tells you.
