  1. @Piotr I feel your pain - the basic rule is don't count on PA giving redemption at the last moment. Strike when the deal is right. My advice is to put together a "wish list", not based on price but on what you want. When something on that list appears on sale pull the trigger and use the voucher It's not a perfect philosophy because PA might make do a last minute deal but you gotta have rules......
  2. a midi 2 device should "adjust" when they 'sense' a midi 1 device so a hub shouldn't be necessary. Velocity has had a massive upgrade - from 7-bit to 16-bit but that's only part of the story - it also allows for 'meta data' such as articulation or tuning - or whatever. Everything that has been done looks amazing - and is exactly what you would want....but........
  3. there are no kinks worth worrying about - it's brilliant . In a different league to the old korg collection. Proper resizable gui - well laid out etc etc if you can get a good deal as an upgrade (or if you don't care ?) then buy it - I never had a real life triton but if it was anywhere near as good as this then I missed out.
  4. yes - kind of backwards compatible - but not over 5 pin DIN for example. A midi 2.0 device can detect a mid 1.0 device and allow for it (kinda). But it's a protocol specification rather than an actual physical transfer medium. MIDI 1.0 was (is!) amazing and universally accepted, even though, as you say, there were 'minor' tweaks that manufacturers could do. Glad to see timestamping in there as a 'standard' for example. Just I think they've missed the boat. International standards are amazing and to be encouraged...we wouldn't be where we are in the 21st century without them (the web-tcp/ip-the metric system-piano keyboards etc etc) - it's just they are about 25 years too late. We shall see.......
  5. just flagging this odd issue with the vu meter as per my post here: if you uninstall the font the VU meter works fine - just in case anybody else is seeing strange font issues after installing this and fix/workaround posted
  6. quick update - the odd font thing I was getting is related to the Jrhand font that I installed as part of the senderspike VU meter uninstalled it and all back to normal very peculiar ------ so the solution is to install the jrhand font that comes with sender spike sn02g for "all users" ie - right click and select "install for all users" not just "install" no idea why but life is full of mysteries
  7. I totally agree - and it helped revolutionise electronically produced music. In the intervening 40 years (!!!) manufacturers and software vendors are using their own, diverse, workarounds. It's possible that they are too late to the party ?
  8. it is the end of the month 😱 !!!!
  9. I wonder if this is all too little, too late ?
  10. Doesn't the monthly voucher expire tonight @Piotr ? don't wait too long
  11. I've been using Kontakt 6 (full) since it came out - not had problem here with snapshots. Is this just with the heavyocity stuff ?
  12. haven't watched it in years - but I can still quote every line (hope you didn't feel insulted 🕊️ - it's just that always springs to mind when somebody says Bach in a rock context) patron saint of quality footwear
  13. I'm really influenced by mozart and bach..... (sorry ZincT - genuinely enjoyed your track - just couldn't resist)
  14. those still wanting to use their monthly voucher have the option of these sales : ampeg svt bv-digital plus this SSL-4000E I think ? are the codes: SVT-VR-4999 BXD-V3-4999 still valid ?
  15. run EW installation center to update no idea what the change log is ?
  16. run Korg Software Pass to update - (assuming you jumped through all the hoops and managed to purchase and get it installed in the first place) note on my windows install this does odd and interesting things to the fonts in the "menu" (standalone mode - change the audio/midi settings for full effect)
  17. PS - there was a mystery e-voucher in my account: Picked Acoustic NL voucher XXXXXX valid - 20.09.2019 to 20.03.2020 hadn't noticed it before - valid for picked acoustic - I "think" it's £9 - you can't stack it with the £22 voucher so zero use - glad I didn't know it was there or I may have been tempted earlier
  18. Like you, I'm a guitar player - and that kinda fingerpicking thing is what I tend to play......but I totally love Picked Acoustic. Glad I didn't wait for Komplete 13. Compared to the 8DIO Advanced Steel String @ $198.....well no comparison
  19. I'm thinking the same thing
  20. that's what made me try to use the voucher - I'd already used it for picked acoustic last year. Didn't realise you could keep using it (gotta be an NI error ?) - picked up the last remaining £25 expansion I didn't have (£3)... and payday today - so I bought reMIDI too using rewards points....... win/win
  21. I'm sure this has been posted by larry (?) but I can't seem to find it so I'm nudging this again https://www.native-instruments.com/en/specials/your-free-holiday-gifts/ £22 off (think that's $25?) you can't use it on the current heavyocity sale unfortunately but you could pick up one of these for £3 if that's your kind thing (or get all 3 for £12 - see below) https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/expansions/nocturnal-state/ https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/expansions/stadium-flex/ https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/expansions/spectrum-quake/ Top tip - it's seems you can use this code more than once..so spend spend spend
  22. Thanks Zo - I’ll cut them a bit more slack
  23. @Zo let us know if they fix it for you - Last PA customer service issue I had was really poor so it would make me feel a little better if they fix it for you - if not they are definitely off my christmas card list
  24. @cclarry I have a memory of keepforest being on your 'bad customer service' list ?
  25. I'm interested in oVox but not $62 interested......I'm sure it will come down soonish if you have the patience to wait (I normally have zero patience) an off the wall suggestion - CLA effects ? currently $29 (or whatever everyplugin price is) I use that all the time on vocals to 'stress them out' either a bit or a lot - not synthetic like ovox obviously - but very usable and really quick to use
