  1. anybody running this in Windows (10) ?

I notice that when I start Acid V standalone it totally deletes the contents of the %TEMP% directory - (c:\users\username\AppData\Temp)

    which is VERY BAD !

The VST3 plugin does the same thing

  2. Cubase not included - although there was a sale last month.

Just speculating (!) but I suspect Cubase 13 is going to drop very (very?) soon.

Assuming they do a grace period, as they have previously, then they don't want the sale upgrades to be in the grace period hence they did the Cubase one earlier  - also meaning we are not going to see Nuendo 13 until November.

Again, assuming that they do the same as previously - if you are looking to upgrade from an earlier version of Nuendo then this might be a good time....but don't activate until N13 is announced/released - they usually (!) give you the latest version when you activate.

Got a link that actually indicates someone got confirmation he is still around?

I also hope he is ok and hope he and his family have a plan in place.

obviously I hope he's ok too

the forum link posted above showed somebody is filing tax returns and seems to indicate he opened a new company AFTER the date he went radio silence.

Somebody is also paying for and maintaining his website and authorisation system.  His email address doesn't bounce

either way somebody is taking money from new customers !

  4. Personally I find it unethical to continue to sell Jamstix with a total lack of support or any indication that you'll even be able to authenticate it in the future.

It seems that, from information in the JS forum, Ray is still alive and kicking therefore he should make some kind of statement.

Any ones in particular? There was a 'missing' Kontakt update a while back, but I think it was just taking its time to roll out - I can see Kontakt 7.4.2. there now. On the other hand, there very well could be some updates that I'm missing (but don't know about).

I'm struggling to remember but I think it was Massive X and Komplete Kontrol - they were flagged as being available on this forum so might be worth a search - around late March / early April.

It's also possible that NI support have no idea and just told me to update because it's a stock response.  Personally I much (much, much, much) preferred NA1

Native Access 1.14 still works fine for me (I never upgraded). You can get it from the legacy installers page:

    https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000407909-Native-Access-Legacy-Installers-for-Older-Operating-Systems

It probably doesn't work if you have any of their subscriptions though (I don't have any, so can't confirm).

According to NI support, some of the more recent updates don't show up in NA1 - I was forced to update :(

You could contact support and share the information you get from them. It will not hurt to ask.

    just looping back on this

    UVI said - "no"

if you bought as part of a bundle then there is zero upgrade/crossgrade value. so no discounts - pretty poor policy IMO, but saved me some money I suppose.

Are they? I bought FX Collection 3 last December and my upgrade "offer" is 199 €.

    in my experience, yes.

Have you bought any of the additional FX released since FX collection V3 was released ?

If you had then they would credit you with the price of them against the upgrade to FX4.

IIRC The Custom Shop does not install everything, only that which you own. You can however "try" things you do not own.

    dunno ?

I think their download manager is now called IKM installation manager  ?- and if you install something like T-Racks or Amplitube then everything gets installed even if it's not licensed.

Fortunately Amplitube 5 allows you to hide the unlicensed stuff.

Arguably that's a problem with their installer packages and not the download manager 👍 - but they still charge for 'expired' downloads

I really like download managers that *also* (optionally) tell me what I don't own. IKM Custom Shop comes to mind.

although IKM installers tend to install everything wether you own it or not :( - which more than offsets any convenience IMO.

plus they charge for 'expired' downloads.

So in summary: total fail :)

I must be the only one that actually likes download managers?

I think they are a bit of mixed bag - some good and some bad.

For example Native Access V1 was great for me but the latest V2 (3.4!) is totally appalling in every way - running a CPU hogging service the ENTIRE time you have your PC on - plus often fails to connect.   The development team behind that should hand their heads in shame :D

The Steinberg one is a bit a of a liability too !

    Thank goodness for Toontrack :)

Even the good ones are probably very annoying if you only have one or two plugins from the developer though.
