    Hi,

I'm not also not able to get TAL Vocoder2 working.

I have found small tutorial on YT, but not detailed enough for me.

As a beginner, it is at the moment difficult to understand what that routing works, for the effects.

I have a short audio file insert on line 1 and should create a midi on line 2, and then I'm lost.

    Will try it tomorrow again.

    Best regards,

    Mark

The routing is decribed in the above thread, but what I had an issue with was knowing I had to go up in the VST3 drop down in the plug-in itself and change that to allow 'midi in'

  2. Agreed with other poster, partnership with two other hardware manufacturers didn't end well, (Roland/ Gibson).

Also, I know you used Avid as an example, but since they own Protocols, they are competitors and that would not be a good thing.

Personally, I'd rather see Cakewalk take the path of releasing more plugins--maybe in partnership with some third-party plug in makers (Eventide, SSL come to mind)

  3. SOLVED

    Just wanted to share.

I had just bounced a mix down for export, and had been doing that in the same project a few times to test my mixes on other systems, but for some reason, when I exported the audio this time, it was playing back at double or triple the speed!

I did a reboot and now all is well, but let's just say I've been around for a while, and that's the first time that's ever happened to me!!

  4. Yeah, John Vere is onto something. Many MP3 players need additional codecs installed in order to play higher quality MP3's.

Check the sample rate and bit depth of your MP3 files. If they're higher than say, a CD (Redbook) then search Google for the codecs that play higher resolution MP3 files for your particular software.

The per-track EQ feature pre-dates the ProChannel.

It  was added in SONAR 4.

The Quad Curve EQ is an update to the original per-track EQ hosted in the ProChannel.

    The QCEQ cannot be removed.

    Hey @scook

Just to confirm I understand what you're saying; I'm referring to the Gloss EQ module in the Pro Channel. If I have a buss Pro Channel that doesn't have any EQ (like the below screenshot) and I add the Gloss EQ module manually, I can then no longer remove it?

    Thanks!

  6. Hey Group--

I've had this lack of understanding for a while now, but I am just now asking about it.

I added the EQ module to the Pro Channel of a buss. The compression module was already there. Now, I've decided to use another EQ and I want to remove the "built-in" EQ module from that buss PC but the Remove and Replace Module options are both grayed out. I know I can just turn off that module, but it's always bothered me that since I added it, why can I remove it?

I may have a resolution. When I installed my monitor there were already two displayport cables being used for my two Dells.  Rather than unpack the new cable that came with the Asus monitor, I just used one of the ones I already had.  And that almost worked. That is, every application except Cakewalk worked fine (and Cakewalk only had problems intermittently). This morning I replaced the old cable with the new one from the box. Since then, I haven't any issues with Cakewalk or anything else. The old cable was about 8 ft and about 3/8" thick. The new cable is 6 ft and 1/4" thick. Or maybe it was just a slightly flaky connection. I know that doesn't seem likely but..., Or maybe it's all just black magic. Anyway, I'm really hoping this is a fix. Note to self: If you get new cables, then use them.

BTW, I highly recommended the Asus XG43VQ for anyone who prefers a 16x10 over a 16x9 aspect ratio and wants to replace a dual monitor system. It's designed for gamers, but since I'm not a gamer, I just ignore those extra features. It can be had for about $750 AM (or $999 CD, which is what I paid).

Thanks again everyone. I'll bump this post if I have any further problems. - Dan

WOW! That's a lot of money for a monitor!!

I think the upgrade is free if you have M4 essentials  I do think I upgraded from the free Sonar version to Essentials a long time ago for cheap. They just sent out a Black Friday deal to upgrade to Assistant for $99 and I fell for it. I really haven't used it much. But this winter I will spend some time to really learn how it works.

I've got v4 editor. To go to 5 editor is $100

If it wasn't rendered the edited clip may have been deleted when it was closed. If it was not deleted it may be in a take lane. Otherwise I can usually identify them by name.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure I'll know it when I see it, but it's going to take a long time to find it that way.

  10. Hello Group--

I noticed while I was loading my current project, that Melodyne was loading as an fx. I bounce to clip and render all my Melodyne regions, so I must have missed one. The problem is, I'm near the end of a project and there are many, many tracks and audio clips.

Does anyone have a nifty trick for locating where the unprocessed Melodyne region is?

    Thanks,

wait, we should get rid of them...?
I still prefer books reading ahead of time then getting to it the next day (or hour)
...some of the SONAR learning books cost $$ and still  look good on the shelf even if the data is not applicable to the new version, by just looking at the book you remember every chapter, no need to open it anymore.
I like all the new features in Cbb, and you don't get animated image tutorials in a book. at least not yet.

so you must have a book when it was just "Cakewalk" before the "SONAR" series

You should have seen the stack of music software and hardware manuals I tossed. Many on products and companies that aren't around anymore.

I had an old Sound Forge by Sonic Foundry. NI kontakt version 1. Emu Proteus sound module, Amt8 midi engine...on and on.

Hard to part with, but with the onset of the digital age, I realized it was for sentimentality that I was keeping them. Not their content or usefulness.
