  1. Usually I've had no trouble getting the free offering, but last year was the first time I actually missed (and ended up having to buy Modal Runs, but did get the Ostinato Noir free one). I think as the years have gone on, it's gotten harder to get the limited offering (they only gave away 1000 Modal Runs). I seem to remember that there was problems with the site or something and I was shut out. Not the end of the world or anything. Hopefully they will have something new this year (even if it's not free). It sounded like in their last emails they were focusing on getting their strings library out (which I'm not really all that interested in at this point). None of the Day 1 sales I still have the emails for (back to 2015) were free, they all were 50% one of their flagship products. I suspect the first free offering won't be tomorrow.
  2. Is it still not possible to uninstall a Waves demo/test without removing every Waves plugin and reinstalling (or hacking the files by hand)? I know that's why I've stopped bothering to demo/test any Waves things. Uninstalling is too difficult.
  3. The new kits along with the generate stuff and the ability to setup relationships between tracks and have it use that when generating is pretty awesome.
  4. I believe on VI they mentioned it was lifetime access. Which of course means lifetime of the company and/or thinkific.com. This is why I mentioned I'd like to be able to download everything. I suspect a lot of these online course offering businesses will not last more than a few years. The $30 sale price is limited time though, it ends on the 1st of January.
  5. Once again they are doing the Jingle Jam charity games bundle, though this year they have changed things up a bit. It's no longer on the Humble Bundle site for one. And it no longer rolls out a new game every day (which I really liked). But you do get to choose the charity you are supporting from a fairly large list and can see all the games that you will get in advance. https://www.jinglejam.co.uk/ You do have to donate 25 GBP (or more) to qualify for the game bundle. They will send you an email with all the Steam keys about a day after you donate (I did it yesterday and just got mine today). Redeeming that many Steam keys is kind of a pain. Humble has links that direct redeem but this is just a big list of keys. And Steam will lock you out after about 20-25 keys for a short time due to "too many redemptions in too short a time" When filling out the forms make sure the Jingle Jam reward is selected (you might want to watch the video) though the ordering process. I didn't receive anything initially after ordering (other than Paypal saying they sent the money) but the keys did show up a day later (the website says it can take 48 hours). Offer is available until Dec 14.
  6. So sharing the UMC204HD with Cakewalk and Windows apps can be a bit tricky. Here's the things I've done to make it work best. I run all my Cakewalk projects at 48k (film/video reasons). So I've configured Windows to do the same. And I turn off 'Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" While I don't use it, the option inside Cakewalk to suspend the audio engine when Cakewalk is not in focus might also help. Every now and then some app will try to force the audio interface to 44.1 and mess things up. Usually the side effect of this is ASIO apps continue to work just fine but Windows apps (like web browsers) stop playing sounds. The fix for this is to find the app that is locking the audio interface and kill it. I also kill/disable all the HDMI audio interfaces, since I don't use my monitor for sound.
  7. It's basically about 841 vocal loops (2 singers) with a Kontakt interface and an additional 280 bonus instrument/drum loops. AMNE - Ah (No Loop) AMNE - Ee (No Loop) AMNE - Eh (No Loop) AMNE - Mm (No Loop) AMNE - Oh (No Loop) AMNE - Uh (No Loop) Laura Kleinas - Mixed Vocals (No Loop) Laura Kleinas - Phrases A Min Laura Kleinas - Phrases B Min Laura Kleinas - Phrases Bb Min Laura Kleinas - Phrases C Min Laura Kleinas - Phrases C# Min Laura Kleinas - Phrases D Min Laura Kleinas - Phrases E Min Laura Kleinas - Phrases Eb Min Laura Kleinas - Phrases F Min Laura Kleinas - Phrases F# Min Laura Kleinas - Phrases G Min Laura Kleinas - Phrases G# Min Not sure it's a mistake but all the AMNE - MM samples are files with names like OHMag-01.wav and the singer is definitely singing OH and not MM. The Ethera series is better. This is a $15 library, that retail price is just crazy. The loops aren't that bad though for vocal pads. But it's not going to do chords and realistic anything. If you want that, Ethera is a better choice.
  8. I think this expires Dec 2 so you may not have much time. I have the first one and it's excellent (if you need robot sound effects), so I couldn't pass this up. https://www.soundmorph.com/product/58/robotic-lifeforms-2
  9. Special launch pricing of $30, reverts to full price of $59 on Jan 1, 2021. Get your recipes at https://orchestrationrecipes.com/ I picked this up this morning and played around with the first "recipe", it's an interesting learning approach. I wish you could download the entire recipe (the videos/a PDF of the notes) though you can download the MIDI files, the rest of the content is presented as online classes (using thinkific.com) but other than that I'm pretty impressed.
  10. The wasapi driver is awful and will not work very well. Only the real ASIO driver is any good. But that assumes you have a UMC 204HD. There are models of the UMC interfaces that don't have native ASIO drivers (and are very bad). You can download the Behringer driver here https://www.behringer.com/downloads.html Select the Audio Interface->USB Audio Interfaces->UMC204HD then scroll down to UMC204HDSoftwareUMC Driver 4.59.0 (for Windows 7 to 10) and click the download icon on the right.
  11. Thanks Larry. I managed to get it to work using the following URL https://www.macprovideo.com/cart/coupon/20MPVCyberMonday72
  12. Do you mean a UMC 204HD? It's my main interface. But with most synths (especially Kontakt) you can't run crazy low buffer sizes. I pretty much just stick it at 2048 with safe mode on so I don't have any problems except when recording. That's when I can lower it to 64 as long as I'm not using plugins/etc to just record something. Then set it back to 2048 for mixing/editing. Also make sure you have the latest release 4.59.0
  13. Awesome. And sad. Before I posted I went to the the APD Shop and by brands Audioifier and it's not listed there (nor is the complete bundle) so I figured it wasn't in the shop.
  14. I guess I bought Riffendium 1-3 direct from Audiofier, so no APD loyalty offer for me. Sigh.
  15. 4TB, anything less and you'll be replacing it too soon.
  16. I'd bet it can be forced, but doing it may require more black magic than any sane person can muster. Never believe HP's support and driver installer. They will take months to make no real changes to "bless" a driver release from Intel. You might try changing the High DPI settings on the compatibility tab (bring up properties on Cakewalk). You shouldn't have to, but it might help. It's also possible that Windows has added a set of compatibility flags to Cakewalk, which it thought you needed but instead is just messing with it. Nirsoft has an app (that's a bit easier than just editing the registry yourself) https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/app_compatibility_view.html You'd be surprised sometimes how Windows will add a bunch of flags/settings for an app that shouldn't have any. Usually the best answer is to just delete the entry. If it's really needed Windows will re-add it. What your describing though sounds much more like a video card driver issue, I doubt any settings will fix it really.
  17. Go to Intel and download the most recent driver you can find for the HD 630 https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/products/98909/graphics/graphics-for-7th-generation-intel-processors/intel-hd-graphics-630.html Looks like they have a beta driver. It might help.
  18. Yeah I switched my Slate account to a non-Yahoo account and it showed up instantly. But while the license is in my iLok account, I can't seem to activate it. Keep getting an error: Ended up using the plugin itself to do the activate to the hardware iLok. Never had to do that before, the iLok LIcense Manager has always let me activate things. At this point I've wasted way too much time on this freebie.
  19. The website keeps saying "Let's confirm your email address We're going to confirm your email address to make sure you're not an alien robot. We just sent an email to XXXX Click the link in the email to confirm your email address." But no email ever comes.
  20. They are going to charge for not just it, but everything else too, count on it. Enough to make you consider the subscription is a good deal. According to Linked-In Wolfgang Kundrus has been at EastWest for five years doing mostly their downloader I guess. Given how craptacular his optimized sample player software is, I'm setting my expectations to very, very low. Play 6 still doesn't play release tails unless you fully load the samples into memory.
  21. I can't seem to get them to send me the validation email either. Or maybe Yahoo is holding it up for some reason.
  22. I pulled this into Excel from their deals page and added the percent discount column. Perhaps they will add something in the future, since I sure don't see 83% off anything though.
