  1. I suspected this might happen - companies want to maximise their value when trying to get investor buy-ins. There's nothing wrong with wanting to expand, and getting the cash to do it. Who knows, with more financial backing we might finally see Sound downloads not expiring after 180 days (yes - the download period is very generous compared to some, but there are some companies who's downloads do not expire; even with larger libraries) Installer binaries being digitally signed
  2. It is an older plugin. I haven't used it that much (because I haven't needed to use this type of plugin that much), but I was happy with the results of warming up some sounds from a brass library. There's a free demo you can try.

    30% off Presonus

Sometimes companies grow and change their tactics. There's another company that used to do buy-on-get-one-free every year about this time that seems to no longer do it. Ah well - you win some, you lose some; it all (probably) balances out in the end (especially as it seems there are so many more products on sale recently).
  4. No, but I think you can still pre-order
  5. Ferrum and Risenge (i.e. the most expensive ones) are
  6. You could buy an insanely powerful PC for that amount. Just curious - if it's for work, wouldn't a desktop workstation be more powerful/suitable?
  7. I honestly didn't know they had so many products - they only thing they push is their chord pack for 'pro level' chords.

    MAAT EQ Promo

I don't have them but for the price of the two, I'd rather get the FabFilter Total Bundle (or the Melda complete bundle; or a Voxengo premium membership). That's just me though - I'm sure the Maat EQs are worth it if you need such precision EQs.
  9. Sounds good, Wookiee. I love the synth 'whooshes' that give it the icy feeling!
  10. There are some things that are available on Zero-G that aren't on T+S. The only one I can think of are libraries from Silence+Other Sounds (which are niche, but sound very nice); you can buy those directly on the Silence+Other Sounds website though.
  11. If you're upgrading, you might want to look at the Master Edition - it's a combination of the first 8 (I think...) modules combined in one, so you can mix and match sound sources for the different layers. I think I read that it has enhanced scripting over the individual (first 8) DRONARs too. Keep in mind that it doesn't contain material from all of the modules released to date; be sure to check what's there before buying.
  12. Thanks for the voucher @Time+Space. I remember there have been some other store-wide discounts in the past, but none that I can remember during a (very) sales-heavy season where many products are already discounted.

    Video

Nice video, David. Did you have any particular inspiration/theme in mind when you did this?
  14. Great song Paul! Certainly different to what I was expecting from the title, and it being just a little after Halloween For what it's worth, I quite liked the guitar solo. As some of the comments mention, the kick is a little clicky, but you could probably still use it if you put a little EQ on it: try cutting at around 5k; if you wanted a bit more thump in it, you could also try boosting slightly around 150Hz and/or parallel compression. Very nice melodies and chord progressions - well done!

    Experi Mental

Really creative piece, Jack. Sounds like you had a lot of fun making it. Thanks for sharing!
  16. Heavyocity's running a scoring competition for the trailer of their latest library, Symphonic Destruction. Thought I'd share my entry here too - comments and feedback welcome.
  17. Nice work Philip - very evocative. I've recently learned trying to do something for another scoring competition that scoring can be really hard - it's difficult to fit the music to picture, but you've managed to do it really well. Good Luck!
  18. Lovely tune, Fred (and the ceramic orca's very nice too). The opening part of the tune gave me feelings of wandering the expanse/openness, and then something magical happened when the strings and brass kicked in. Thanks for sharing!
  19. I think it coincided with the time that they rolled out their product manager/downloads (they used to only sell DVDs). I'm guessing it might have been something to do with tracking of the serial on the physically printed sleeves, and their new system - so they just decided to bite the bullet and do a hard cut-off point. I'd completely understand, but I also understand why this was an unpopular move.
  20. Let your heart be light From now on, our troubles will be out of sight Have yourself a merry little Christmas Make the yuletide gay From now on, our troubles will be miles away Here were are as in olden days Happy golden days of yore Faithful friends who are dear to us Gather near to us once more Through the years we all will be together If the fates allow Hang a shining star upon the highest bough And have yourself a merry little Christmas now Here we are as in olden days Happy golden days of yore Faithful friends who are dear to us Gather near to us once more Through the years we all will be together If the fates allow Hang a shining star upon the highest bough And have yourself a merry little Christmas now Merry Christmas Merry Christmas
  21. I'm sure they will; we all might be a bit older by then though - I think the lowest I've ever seen the 9000J for is $75, and that was fairly recently (with respect to when it was released), and it was only once (or twice).
  22. I can only really think of one, which was discontinuing SD3 upgrades from SD2, but tbh I haven't been paying that much attention. They do exclude their newer SDXs from sales, but you do get pick-your-own-bundle packs now which would offer a discount (something to keep on a wishlist for the store-wide discount vouchers that some online stores occasional give out). IIRC, they also have 12-days-of-Christmas sales in December.
  23. That was a fun listen - reminded me of the excitement around Xmas time. Thanks for sharing!
  24. Great stuff! The mix sounds really good, and the time sig really does add a slight edge to it. I enjoyed that.
  25. Sounds good Larry! I especially like the bridge section where there's a slight change in theme for contrast, and a slow-down/cut back in instrumentation.
