I had been chewing antacid tablets like candy for years. I went on for a few months without any reflux at all, even when I drank wine on the weekends. Even the food that used to trigger reflux was no longer a problem.

I had a bad acid reflux problem, usually in the middle of the night (one reason for not drinking coffee after noon) however... I discovered that the LAST thing you want to do is try to neutralize the acid!  The issue is actually the opposite!  You need to ADD acid during your meal so the food gets digested properly.  In my case, I started having what amounts to about a tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar (a.k.a., ACV) in about eight ounces of water after every meal.  At first the taste made me wince, but now I don't even notice!

Oh, and I haven't had acid reflux ONCE since I've been taking ACV!  Well, there was one time, but that was the one and only day that I had forgotten to take my ACV!

    What a difference!!!

Side-note:  That mug is from the first rock and roll album that I ever owned! 🙂

Ditto. I still think back on the bamidi mystery and its sad resolution.

If I were to suddenly kick the bucket, I'd hope that craigb might note that bitflipper hasn't posted in awhile, thus leading to the discovery of my rotting corpse slumped over my keyboard. I'm counting on you, Craig.

*Pfft!*  Heck, you might outlive me Dave!

I got myself addicted to coffee on purpose when I started college. I needed some kind of routine to help me get out of bed in the morning.

Well, it worked. I would drink two or tree pots a day, plus a couple of bottles of cola.

Eventually I reached a point where I didn't enjoy the taste at all.

I managed to switch to tea a few years ago. It works great for me.

With coffee, when I needed a little upper,  I'd get that initial jolt but I would crash shortly after. But if I went to bed I couldn't sleep for more than 2-3 hours.

Tea has less of a kick but the energy is more even. To me anyway. Not the most exciting beverage, but I developed a taste for it. It's also less tempting to load it with sugar and all kinds of stuff. Another advantage is that it's a lot easier on my stomach. And lastly, it's a lot cheaper.

That being said, the smell of coffee is like nothing else. Really makes me miss it, but I'm not sure I would actually enjoy it.  Part of me does wish, though.

I still enjoy coffee, but no longer have any after noon.  Then I also switch to tea (I've got around 14 types to choose from! 😆).  One side-note, for any of you who have started including fasting into your life (which I had to a few years ago due to some health issues), The Earl Grey shown above is the one you want to be drinking while fasting.  It includes bergamot which helps a lot during a fast.  Oh,(another side-note!), if you get any "jolt" from drinking coffee, it actually means that you haven't been sleeping correctly!  Once that's corrected (I even have a course I can put online if anyone's interested), you can actually drink coffee and go right to sleep if you needed to (not recommended though since it can cause acid-reflux).

That said, I may have to check the rules to see if it's ok to be in the Coffee House wearing a tea-shirt... 🤔

Man, what is up with the prices of graphics cards lately?

They are MUCH better today than they were just a few years ago!  I still don't have a real video card for my newest i9 screamer (wonderfully put together by Jim Roseberry here! 😉👍), I'm just using the on-board graphics.  When I was doing IT consulting for a few years right before the C0VID scam killed that employment and two side businesses, we couldn't even buy a lame video card for a client for less than around $2,000!  I went to a Best Buy one afternoon and saw a line of people milling about outside .  When I asked what was up I found out that they were going to be camping there all night so they could be first in line to buy a video card the next day when the store opened because some were finally arriving!  WTF??! 😮  This was all due to crypto-miners.

Although my on-board graphics can power my 40" 4k monitor for work stuff (albeit with visible glitching from time to time), I certainly can't do any high-end video processing or play games with it...

Oh, and I have a wealthy friend who bought a high-end PC online two years ago so he could live-stream on YouTube.  When it had an issue (because one of the included hard-drives was a repurposed security drive that had failed - yes, he got scammed!), I found out he had paid $3,400 for just the video card with the entire rest of his computer costing him $2,900.  I recommended him to Jim here (ironically his name is also Jim), but he chose to just replace the parts that weren't up-to-spec instead.

    Hey Craig,

Thanks for asking and hope your are keeping well. I got a little prompt about this post and thought I would drop on by. Following the little disruption by Gibson and Cakewalk I moved back to Steinberg Cubase, the software that I started from all those years ago on the Atari ST. I also recently added Bitwig to my arsenal as I am starting to get into live performance.

Aside from that I changed my working name of Biodiode back to my given name as I found lots of people having problems pronouncing Biodiode let alone spelling it. The breaking point was when Pluginguru kept calling me Bio dude on his live stream, kind of made me realise the difficulty with the name.

My new website is up at https://adrianearnshaw.com and I am very active on YouTube these days - https://www.youtube.com/@AdrianEarnshawMusic mainly doing tutorials and software reviews.

    Take care

    Adrian

Get Andy (aka Synkrotron) to chime back in here occasionally... CHECK.

Get Adrian (aka Bio Dude 😂) to post back here... CHECK.

    Alright!  Who's next??! 😁

Anyway, good to see you're still alive and kicking Adrian! 😉👍

  6. Liked the self-titled album!  Couldn't find their first one "Live On Earth" since all the results were NASA related... lol!  Did find and listen to the third album, Zwei, and it was good, but I liked their self-titled one a lot more!

Hard to choose one from Jimi as there are so many.
But for JB, Goodbye Pork Pie Hat does it for me.
It's 5:30 of non stop guitar and seems to last half as long. His phrasing and tone is exemplary.

And it's in that "Mix" above!
