  1. I don't really use TTS-1 anymore but while making the video on separate outputs and then adding good VST effects to the sounds I was impressed at how much improvement just EQ, Compression, reverb and even TH3 could make. When your ready to investigate some new VST's ask here as most of us have a lot of sources for free or very cheap stuff that we use. First stop is try the SI instruments that come with CbB. They are in the additional downloads from the Bandlab Assistant. Log on to Plugin Boutique https://www.pluginboutique.com/ and from there grab the Ample Bass and the guitar. Verberate Basic 2, You Lean Loudness meter and the Yojo Banjo. Then I also use https://plugins4free.com/ lots of good stuff here as well. If you have a Focusrite Interface grab their free collection as well as you get a free add pack from XLN audio. XLN audio has a demo version of AD keys and drums which are very good. All you got a do is create an account and install the manager app.
  2. Ya we wash the dishes in that That's a reverse Osmosis drinking water sink. Here's the other end of the counter. This was a few months ago it has a lot more junk on the walls and counters now. I made all the cabinets and drawers. The doors we got second hand the whole kicthen for $100, solid oak, and painted them. Anyhow boy are we off topic...
  3. Yes with some synths any overlapping double notes mute that note. This can even happen if the duration of the first note overlaps a second note. Sometimes you have a note you can't hear and it is hidden underneath an overlapping note. You need to think of your parts as the way they would be in real life. A Wind instrument cannot play 2 notes simultaneously. If there are 2 players then yes. Best practice is to put each instrument ( player) in it's own track and in the case of the TTS_1 this also requires assigning a different channel. Very easy to do. Create part one using a only one note at a time and assign it to TTS_1 Channel 1. This is done in the track header in the output option boxes You have Channel/ Bank/ patch Now create a second midi track and assign it to TTS-1 Channel 2 and so on. And generally TTS-1 is a good starting point but most of us use Sample based VST's which have higher sound quality. I made these videos to demonstrate TTS-1 options. Video IV is about replacing TTS-1 tracks with other VST's.
  4. ASIO4all is simply a wrapper for WDM mode. It is not a true ASIO driver. Only an ASIO driver can calculate the timing offset properly. Don't get me wrong I used asio4all for 2 years on a laptop and it was great. But it is no longer needed due to WASAPI and if the OP purchases a proper audio interface then asio4all becomes a problem on some systems and has to be removed. WASAPI works real good on W10 systems if all your doing is midi or loops. You cannot expect to overdub new tracks and have them sync properly in any other mode. This is a loopback test using different modes. I have never tried a loopback with asio4 all and it would be interesting to see the results.
  5. I don't get what you want to do. Is it to slow the song down? Please explain what the results you are after.
  6. I've been using Cakewalk since 2004 and I still learn new things weekly. It is still the only reason I hang around here. Even answering questions forces you to go try new things or look it up -- something our OP's need to learn how to do :) I tend to only use the few features I need which is basically a midi sequencer and a 4 track tape deck. Like Ripple editing was added a long time ago and I have no clue how or why I would use it. I did try the new arranger and it's found a use for it as a very spiffy replacement instead of using markers for Verse , chorus etc. As I said I avoided Melodyne simply because I just never took the time to read ( watch) up on it. As time wears on and life slows down I find I have the time to start learning new tricks. Yesterday I watched "How to DIY Mini Split heat pump" videos for 4 hours. I now feel fully up to the task which will save me probably $1,800. Last winter it was watching Cabinet making videos. You have to be careful as there's some real armature advice floating around the net. You can tell the professionals from the weekend warriors pretty easily. But we re-did our kitchen for under $6,000 including appliances. Before After
  7. If your project is only midi then change the tempo. If it's audio you can't go that far from the original it will sound horrid. You can change audio by a certain amount but not that much.
  8. Remove Bandlab assistant in APPs Go to web site and re download and install Log in
  9. This is common. As Mr Tecknot has recommended- Use WASAPI mode -DO NOT us asio4all that was 15 years ago. And always check your Master bus is set to your speakers and not the Digital output.
  10. You know this is actually funny. We get hundreds of posts where the OP says “I hooked up my midi cable (or USB) and there’s no sound. “ We politely explain that midi is not audio that it is only data I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen “ I hook up my Audio cables and there’s no midi “. But chances are that the op has a keyboard with a USB MIDI output and won’t need to return the interface. I’ll blame this on pour salesmanship in the store. They should have asked the op what they were trying to accomplish and supplied them with the correct gear
  11. Take it back and get an interface with midi ports. But that said- Most keyboard have a USB midi connection. The 2i2 The 4i4 Or this.
  12. Please go to the tutorials and spend some time with them your are asking about very basic stuff that is well documented in the help files and tutorials
  13. I’m pretty new to using it just started back in November when I got M5 update. I spent a good full evening watching videos and reading first. In the past I could not make sense of it and always gave up and use V Vocal. I’m glad I spent the time learning about it first and have had no issues as a result But from advice given here and in the videos I chop my vocals into short clips. No more than 4 bars and most shorter. Once I’ve finished editing I use the Render function as advised and save the project before moving to the next clip. So far no issues at all. I like that when I return to the project the clips I’ve done are marked as Melodyne
  14. It should be as simple as disconnecting your interface and windows sound should automatically become active. Just click the speaker icon in the tray and open sound settings and check all is working Then in Cakewalk change to WASAPI shared which is a good driver for editing. I do this all the time. You can’t use ASIO with out the interface so WASAPI is best.
  15. Are you aware that the mixer should be plugged into line level inputs and not into pre amps? It is not a good idea to double up on mike pre amps. It's not needed and can raise the noise floor. A mixer is a great idea for front end and can handle just about any input and boost it to line level. Once again.. basic audio engineering 101. So if your audio interface has a line level inputs, usually on the back as 3/4, use that and not the front panel inputs. Unless those can by pass the pre amps which some do with switches.
  16. You should have said that to begin with. Read your topic title and what’s the first thing you’ll think the question is about ? Turn your monitors down when you start and stop the audio engine or make any changes for that matter. Your going to damage them. It’s the equivalent of the bass player unplugged his cable dropping it and walking off the stage without asking the sound crew if he was muted yet. Yes that’s right. Sound equipment can’t automatically know what you are doing , you have to operate it.
  17. I think what Noel said about some of us never run into issues is hugely true. I’m one I read about the complaints and I scratch my head thinking “ WT heck is that dude trying to do anyway. It’s like people think software should conform to their way of thinking and if it doesn’t work that way they cry bugs I spent hours and hours working with midi and audio adding effects and what not , nothing hugely complicated , and months go by and everything works as planned day in day out. Cakewalk can be quirky but all software is such. I just upgraded from Movie Studio 14 to 17. Now that’s bugs. I returned to 14 and it is stable. At least Cakewalk has gone in the right direction and for me it is 99.9 % stable as a rock.
  18. This I exactly my thoughts too. Judging by forum activity Cakewalk has not truly expanded its user base. They must have lost a ton of serious users during the transition who never came back once they got going on other DAWs Once burned I was one of the few who refused to leave figuring worst case scenario was X3 for the rest of my days. I don’t think I could ever go back now. I sure hope if they do pull the plug that they unlock it and leave the door open I think if tomorrow they announced that Cakewalk now requires a paid license most of us would gladly anti-up the cash. It’s still weird that they kept it free and are paying staff to further development it.
  19. Please start your own thread. It's confusing and people have to read 2 pages of junk to find your question. This was a totally dead thread were the OP never even answered. Updated note link in above post is now dead use this
  20. You say you’re not rendering I was told that it’s best to render each clip when finished. if your not sure your finished you can always go back to a safety copy or just re open the clip
  21. My original involvement with the Cakewalk forum was to ask questions as I was learning. At some point you become smart enough to answer questions. I owe 99% of my proficiency at Cake to reading the old form. Not so much of that happens here anymore
  22. Don't worry, I only go there with Popcorn already made.
  23. Oh well. Thought this might be the case. There's always Gear Slutz if you can handle the abuse.
  24. Yes this is just like Bandlab app as compared to Cakewalk.. Totally different market. In my family there are a few young teenagers just discovering music creation using these "APPS" one could argue that they are just creating more of the same stuff that seems to have flooded the world of music. They use pre created loops and then for the most part RAPP over this into their cell phones and then lord help us, they post it to you tube. A friend just stopped by yesterday ( one of the few who is allowed) and was all excited because her grandson and friend had posted one of these you tubes. It was terrible in every way a home made video could be terrible. But to her the grandson might as well have been a super star. The artistic equivalent of Googling a picture, printing it, and telling everyone this is your picture you "made". Anyhow as long as they stay away from my DAW all is good.
  25. I don't often wander around the forum site but the main pages are real boring now. Same stupid questions over and over. It's great to help people who are truly stuck, but most of these people seem to think for themselves. 99% of the questions are easily Googled. One thing I just noticed as I answered a post here about a dead laptop, is we no longer have a Hardware Forum? That was one of my favorites on the old site. Any of you old Hosts, I know that you are all hiding down here-- have any pull around here and can see if we could bring back the Hardware sub forum?
