  2. And then there's Bloom Vocal Aether just released by Excite Audio.. I think these guys need to use different AI / LLM for creating their product names 🤣

As for price, they released some plugins that were a lot more expensive than the competition and got away with it.. I wouldn't be surprised if they charge like a wounded bull for this one  Will be a nice surprise if they don't though.

  3. SSL-Harrison Compressor Bundle

    • Harrison 32 BUS
    • Harrison MULTIBAND COMPRESSOR
    • SSL FUSION HF COMPRESSOR
    • SSL LMC+

The legendary tone, features and workflows of classic SSL and Harrison compressors

SSL and Harrison bring together studio legends from Oxford and Nashville with the Comp Bundle - ft. the Harrison 32 Bus and Multiband Compressor plug-ins, as well as the SSL Fusion HF Compressor and LMC+ plug-ins.

    32 BUS

    • Experience the magic of the 32C workflow with the Studio 32 Bus plugin. This plugin emulates the bus processing of the Harrison Mixbus 32C DAW, allowing you to bring a piece of the famed 32C workflow to any DAW.
    • With this plugin, you can add tape saturation, compression, EQ, and limiting to your bus tracks, giving them warmth, punch, and clarity. The 32 Bus plugin is the next best thing to having a real 32C console in your studio.

    MULTIBAND COMPRESSOR

    • Whether you're working on music, film, broadcast, or video post-production, a multiband compressor is a powerful tool for achieving professional-quality results. Use it to control the dynamics of specific frequency ranges, which can be incredibly useful for improving the clarity, punch, and overall sound of your audio.
    • Typical Multiband compressors require careful management of dozens of finicky controls. Harrison’s Multiband Compressor takes a different approach: Each band’s attack, release, and other parameters are calculated by the plugin to get the best possible sound. Internal processing ensures that the combined signal is phase-accurate and has a flat pass-band. The result is a much more natural sound, allowing you to tame problematic frequency ranges without wrecking your instrument’s character. And it works with surprisingly few controls: locate the problem frequencies, choose how much correction to apply, and you’re done!

    FUSION HF COMPRESSOR

    • The Fusion HF Compressor plug-in emulates the high frequency smoothing circuit from the critically acclaimed SSL Fusion stereo analogue colouration processor, bringing the much sought after sound of analogue rounding to your DAW.
    • Tape like roll-off, smooth compression and maximum transparency, the HF Compressor plug-in gives you the ability to tame harsh, brittle high frequencies, creating a smooth and refined top-end on your stems, mixes and masters, quickly and easily.

    LMC+

    • The LMC+ Plug-in brings a new and significantly enhanced version of the classic SSL Listen Mic Compressor as originally found in the centre section of the legendary SL 4000E console to your DAW, with a range of new creative tools for artists, producers and engineers.

It seems I get it for free, got serial and download. I can't recall exactly, but back aways they sent out instructions to upgrade from a PA purchased product and have it put in your account at dearVR. I can't recall exactly which product it was but I'm thinking it might have been dearVR PRO, I have all of them so . . . I'll go back through my emails and see if I can uncover anything, that's the only reason I can think of why I might have got this for free now.

Are you sure that wasn't for "Monitor" instead of Pro?

Luckily there’s @satya and some other minions (like myself) but it’s already getting pretty chilly out here without Larsy.

Just about always slow for deals this time of year when they've already thrown everything at us progressively since Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas and then New Year's.

This is the time of year when they try and say see we do actually advertise at those crazy overinflated RRPs only so they can then discount them again 🤣

  6. HoRNet SW34EQ MK2 free for 24 Hrs

The HoRNet SW34EQ MK2 is an equalizer coming straight from the 80s. It’s the digital version of the EQ found in an American console and it features the typical analog EQ sound and controls.

This plugin is specifically modelled after one channel of this console used in the main room of Virus Studio, here in Siena, Italy. This EQ is very smooth and gentle, both in the EQ shapes (bells and shelves) and it’s almost perfect for general tone shaping, especially the low shelf gives weight to the sound without pumping it too much.

You also get an high-pass filter 18dB/oct slope that can be activated even if the rest of the EQ is not.

Note: his website is currently struggling with high volumes of visitors 🙃

GearSpace is where I go for that.  From my reading, the gold standard is Slate VSX.  Realphones is next, and then Sienna.

It's a tricky comparison because a lot of users are getting their first set of decent planar headphones for the first time with Slate as that's what they come with. If all Realphones users were buying new planar cans at the same time as Realphones it would be a more reasonable comparison.

The edge Slate have is that the correction is based off the individual unit you actually receive from my understanding.

You can also get individual correction measurements done by Dsoniq as well though.

Note: Slate doesn't do system wide on Windows last I checked, which is a huge let down in comparison to Realphones which does. I'd rather be listening to audio through the DAW as well as YouTube, Spotify whatever through the same correction and setup instead of having to mentally adjust for the differences.

  8. Yeah it's a little steeper than I expected.

System wide on Windows is a huge plus over Slate, so everything you listen to is corrected, otherwise I might have given VSX a go. I haven't completely ruled out VSX though.

If anyone has the survey code and isn't going to use it, please PM me 🙂

I'm surprised the developer didn't put audio demos of the reverb on the landing page. I've been picking up their numerous freebies over the years and only recently tried one out recently and found it to be meh. I'd be interested in the opinions of more experienced (than me) mixers regarding 2BPlayed effects. Are there any gems in the bunch that are worth considering?

I tried them a while ago and didn't think much of them... hasn't stopped me collecting them over the years for free, but I haven't installed one in a while 🤣

Crazy. Looks like false advertising to me, then. Is that even legal?

It doesn't seem it to me and even if it's legal, I find it deceptive. They don't even say Royalty Free* and then you find the asterisk and it explains placements.

In one sense it is royalty free for you to sell your music, it's just if you place it with a major label, then they want a cut!

    Them too?!

Only certain products though, I guess? For example, on the page for their bundle it says:

They currently have sales with 50% off everything, including the bundles, btw.

I don't think you can believe what you read on the website, which is my concern with Godlike Loops.

I just checked another pack I had downloaded and on the website it says "Royalty-Free" clearly.

But in the downloaded samplepack the Userinfo.txt says:

    Quote

    Godlike Loops Royalty-Free License gives
you the right to sell the
beats you made using these loops.

Then again, I suppose a lot of people do end up in the "hope for the best" category where they ignore the fine prints and wing it until a possible litigation.

Me? I like peace of mind and not let worry get in between creativity.

This occurred to me as I was replying to the post too. Plenty of people download sample packs illegally and rip samples straight from songs and reuse them and will in many cases get away with it.

I just prefer doing it all legitimately, but I don't judge people for not doing it that way.

Music is a passion for all of us and some people might struggle being able to afford some of those things, so I totally get it.

Good call out around graphics. I have seen some weird licensing with that there, but it never occurred to me it applied to fonts and brushes!

  15. All for having subs as options, but they would definitely not see a cent from me again if they went subscription only, or tried to make perpetual a second class citizen like some companies do to try and incentivise people to subscribe.

That would just incentivise me to leave!

I haven't been excited about hardly any PA releases lately, apart from maybe one, so spending the $224 on the 2022 All Bundle from them has definitely been a cost saver for me instead of an annual subscription.

    Omg, I didn't realise 😱

It's so common for soundbanks and sample packs to be 100% royalty free that I take it for granted.

Completely agreed, it's easy to take it for granted!

I often check and have been quite surprised by some of the ones where they're not royalty free and some of them are crazy, like you have to share royalties with them if your track gets signed to a major label (thinking of Godlike Loops in particular there).

They in particular aren't at all upfront about it either, so I ignore all their sample packs now.
