  1. I have sold full TH-U a year ago but  content of this pack is very tempting for me so I have decided to try it.

    At first the negatives:

    - I have to say I'm really disappointed from the embedded IR loader. I have tried every switch there and even with para EQ after it (LP filter) it sounds way different (worse) from the NadIR which I use as my main loader.  I have tried IRs from several sources (Seacow, OH, YorkAudio) with the same bad result.  So for the usage of reverb or delay I would need another instance of TH-U.  No big issue thanks to the light CPU consumption but it is not as straightforward as it could be.

    - Zero free presets for the Rig Player.  I thought the Overloud has something prepared for trying their flagship item - just for taste how it works. Pity.

    - Embedded cabs. No surprise for me that's why I prefer external IR

List of my positives  is fortunately longer:

+ Satisfaction Fuzz - generally I hate sound of fuzz but this one is something different

+ Analog boost - it reminds me a treble booster and it can help a lot

+ Amps -  every type in the pack is at least usable, I really like Rock 59, Rock 64 and Top15. And with mentioned fuzz or booster I'm able to get very saturated and tasty sound I like.

+ Looper - appreciate count-in and quantization.  I would like to use it for re-amping purposes (as first VST in FX chain). It is easier and faster for me than  record riff into the track at first

So for $50 (JRR with GROUP code) I could get 3 nice and 3 usable amps, fuzz+booster, easy-to-use looper and the Rig Player for future enhancement.

Now I have to make a deal with my annoying inner voice ... "STOP! You already have everything you need for playing at home! Why do you want to purchase another amp sim?"

  2. So it is enough to buy the cheapest Behringer U-Phoria UMC22 for 42,90 € and even if you re-sell it immediately for a half price you've got AT5 SE for 20 €. Nice!

    edit:

If somebody like me has only free AT5 CS + Metal Collection (was free last year) here is a comparison what is offered as "new" in SE edition

    but it would sound worse.

How much worse?  I barely hear difference between 1x-8x oversampling (e.g. on Kuassa amps) and CPU drain is more than significant.

you can buy them for 5 bucks

A little bit OT: You can have their aIR Loader for $5 as addition to $0 Seacow Teaser IR pack. Don't remember when the $5 aIR offer is promoted I guess  after you add the Seacow pack to the cart. I have bought the aIR for just one purpose: modifying of IRs with internal paraEQ and save it as "fresh new" impulse. It serves very well for this, but the UX/UI is something which keeps me off for regular using as an IR loader.

No love on the first try. I will give it a second chance during a week.

I'm glad I did it. Don't think it is awesome (like Esteban in previous post) but it is really good for that price IMO and agree with him about a bit tweaking.
I have checked all amps (excluding clean section) with my MrShallBX IR (Picadas) and here is
    my pros:
+ 15minutes uninterrupted demo. After period you can delete instance and add new for next 15 minutes
+ Light on CPU even with 8x oversampling, comparable to the Nalex, lighter than latest Vadim Taranov's  amps
+ Value tooltips on every knob (are you listening, Kuassa?)
+ Position of all amp knobs stay untouched when amp is changed
+ I like the sound of many many amps there (don't care about accuracy with original amp)
    my cons:
    - "Fire" button - getting sound worse in most cases. That's the reason why I didn't like the sound during my first try.
    - "Default" - I guess it is for setting of default values for active amp. No - it opens app settings dialog.  (bug? )
    - Master behavior.  I have found Master on max has significantly lower volume on several amps
    - Missing amp output volume.  Some amps are quieter than others
    - Ctrl-Z (Undo) doesn't work properly in Reaper. Maybe it is just for demo mode.

Big thumbs down. You go to the button to download a demo and it just says "Demo not Available." Smh...

Demo IS available now. I have tried it personally one hour ago.  No love on the first try. I will give it a second chance during a week.

50% CPU use, which doesn't sound so bad based on what you guys are saying (I have a Ryzen 5 2600).

The CPU Passmark of your Ryzen 5 2600 is 13216.  I have Intel Core i7-4790K (passmark 8000) and what I remember the Neural Nolly needs about 7-8% of my CPU.

Are you really sure about mentioned 50% CPU use for one instance of SmartAmpPro?

Too heavy on the CPU. Had to pass.

Could you compare it to the Neural stuff? (the most hungry VST that I know)

Picked up the Brainworx Friedman BE100 $19 at the bell.  Holy cows, does it sound good.

Can say exactly the same about the $19 Friedman DS40.  And Audiority Dr.Drive (free) + Audio Assault/Seacow Mr.Shall BX IR pack ($7) are perfect neighbors for this amp.
