  1. https://venustheory.gumroad.com/l/vtkalimba Ever wanted to make a sample library? You need a ton of really cool and expensive gear to do that...right? Well, here's proof that you don't. This library was created as a 'proof of concept' for a YouTube video I made, and this is the result! The entire library was made for $10, as I had to buy a Kalimba from a flea market to make it. Assuming you own nothing but a computer, the total cost of this project was under $180 to create thanks to the insanely powerful world of free and FOSS software out in the wild. I hope you enjoy the instrument, and more importantly I hope it inspires you to go out and make something!

  2. I really think Venus Theory / Cameron has a lot of talent as a sound designer and he's been very generous with freebies (yes, I realize that they're a way to gain awareness for his paid versions and paid libraries, but it still means giving away a good quality libraries for free and I appreciate that).

  12. Our 2023 free plugin is here - early access It's holiday time, which means that it's time for another square-shaped, hard hitting, free plugin from Baby Audio to you, entirely free of charge. As a newsletter subscriber, you get early access and you can download Beat Slammer directly by clicking the download links below. Meet Beat Slammer Some compressors are designed to be subtle. This one is not! We set out to make the ideal compression plugin for smashing and squashing drums, beats or entire mix busses. Beat Slammer will give you that pumping and 'bouncy' compression sound that slaps you in the face – and brings muscle to weak tracks. The plugin is based on IHNY-2 by Baby Audio and functions as a parallel compressor. This means you can compress even harder than you normally would and just blend in the compressed / wet signal to taste, while retaining the dynamics of your dry signal. Highlights: * Get that aggressive compression sound that makes your beats 'bounce'. Add punch and intensity to your drums / mix busses. * Use the XY pad to set the compression amount and dry / wet mix in one motion, then adjust the make-up gain and output to taste. * Based on the popular compression algorithm from our IHNY-2 plugin, just without the surgical tweak options of IHNY-2. Learn more: https://babyaud.io/freebies - Or download Beat Slammer directly via the links below. Happy holidays from the Baby Audio team! Windows Check your emails! Mac Check your emails! 18. Hello all, I found a great deal on Studio One 6.5 professional as a crossgrade for only $180.00, that's 30% off of the regular price. Sorry, the crossgrade won't work for free DAWS, only paid version like Sonar X2 forward onto Sonar Platinum. I am not sure if this is the lowest price out there at the moment, however, this deal was great and will only last until December 31, 2023. I made the purchase from the link included above. They sent me an email telling me I would receive an email soon confirming my purchase. When I received my email I sent them back a copy of my original receipt from Clevebridge for Sonar Platinum, HERE, and the next day I receive my Serial key and the information to create or log into my Presouns account, where I found all the items neccessary for me to download, install and start usong Studio One Pro 6.5. If you are thinking about getting any version of Studio One, 6 Check the wesite as all of Presonus Studio One Crossgrades and updates are 30% off until December 31, 2023.

  19. Hi Bapu, I'm excited to introduce my latest creation and my video (click the image above): a new bass library for Kontakt, ideal for rock, metal, and punk fans. Building on FunkyBass, it brings significant enhancements and is now in pre-sale. Pre-Sale Offer: Enjoy a special pre-sale price of $39 for you and your friends, before it rises to $79 after Jan 22. Pre-order now for a download link on January 22, 2024. For details, visit: Click Here. Don’t miss out! Click the image above for an engaging video experience. Highlights of the Library: Two-Part Design: Like FunkyBass, it features a traditional sample library, now enhanced with sophisticated scripts and layered samples. This library uniquely uses a pick for recording, capturing the true essence of rock bass. Authentic Rock Bass Loops: Around 50 dynamic, varied rock bass loops, adding a genuine rock vibe to your music. Advanced Technology: Enhanced legato for hammer ons and pull offs, four velocity layers, and an intelligent system for a more dynamic, expressive playing experience. Responsive Dynamics: Thanks to a meticulously programmed script with multiple round robins, the library responds realistically to your playing style, ensuring an immersive experience. Your feedback and suggestions, especially regarding specific rock bass grooves, are always welcome. An early Merry Christmas to you! Stay tuned for a dedicated festive message. Andrea

If not, $39 + $24.36 upgrade = $63.36. Still less.

  27. Not sure. But maybe not, since on the MAmp and MDistortionMB pages on the Melda site there is no mention of an upgrade path, whereas for something that *can* be upgraded, for example MDynamicEQ (to MAutoDynamicEQ), it explicitly says so at the top of the page. Out of curiosity I just tried MAmp, but by the sounds of things you have plenty of other stuff to mean that MAmp would just be a waste, even of $9. It's not very deep. MTurboAmp is a whole other thing. Remember you can demo some/all of the Melda stuff for 15 days if you've never tried it. (edited, for further guitar-related ramblings: I think a lot of the fun I was having was using MCabinet in conjunction with MTurboAmp. The Cabinet "devices" are very "Melda", ha, by that I mean, there are custom GUI controls that are kinda like unique inventions, I suppose I could go behind the Edit button and find out what they are doing but it goes back to my original point that I find the Melda stuff inspires me to experiment. I feel lost, but in a cool way. It's fun. And also, as MrFigg noted a few posts back, there is MGuitarArchitect that combines the two and adds potential for an MXXX-like playground if you happen to own some of the other Melda FX plugins. I should confess, I'm spoiled, I have everything from Melda and so everything is fun for me... but as for looking at a separate purchase, I kinda feel like saying that you need to go all-in on it, (TurboAmp and Cabinet, or even GuitarArchitect) or don't bother at all. Especially if you have loads of other stuff already. Rant over!)

  28. While installing CbB would work, it would still have to “authorize”. There’s the rub, if and when CbB no longer authorizes then it’s over! No way to “future proof” that… t

  29. Doesn't look like a power problem to me. Looks more like your "High Performance 900 hp HEMI Hell Cat" of a computer is stuck in traffic. Doesn't matter how much horsepower you have if there's too many other vehicles ahead of you all trying to get off the same exit ramp from the superhighway. BOTTLENECKS occur when you try to stream 32 lanes of traffic into 2. Freezing MIDI SYNTHS you aren't currently working with as in recording/sequencing/performing tracks. There is absolutely NO reason to keep them online, i.e. reperforming already sequenced parts & constantly sending 100's to 1000'S of MIDI Note, CC (control changes) and PC (program changes) thru the MIDI buss. By adding more MIDI synths to an already congested MIDI buss, you are creating more high traffic "bottlenecks" which causes the DAW to stop the sound engine and simply wait for all the messages to get thru.

  32. RME. Great products. The drivers are the envy of all audio interfaces. Rock solid. They just work. All the time. I regret selling my Fireface 400 when I got my Apollo. Like you I have a USB Satellite, and have added a Octo PCIe card along with it. I am still eyeing RME products. There maybe one in my future.

  33. AAS licences tend to be sold cheaply used and the upgrades even from version 1 are very cheap. So if you don't mind using KVR etc, you should be able to get many of the latest versions for fifty to sixty in total or less. This including the upgrade and possibly even some sound packs thrown in. Plugin Boutique are one good source for the upgrades. I enjoy their gear and I am not sure why they seem to be treated a bit as a bargain basement company. Maybe it's partly to do with all the cheap Session versions that are bundled with hardware and flood the low end of the market. For whatever reason, it opens up opportunities for some true bargains for those with patience who like digging around in Knobcloud etc.

  34. https://www.applied-acoustics.com/love-lost/ This one seems interesting. As usual these modeling guitar sounds like toy but presets aiming at dreampop and shogazer are rarely seen. Of course percussive presets for Chromophone is safe choice for AAS player though..

  38. I was just researching the Montclarion Piano and watching @Simeon Amburgey's video and enjoying his great playing (both Simeon and I can play the piano at a level that would make my late piano teacher mother cry, but for very different reasons!). Simeon pointed out that there was an issue with velocity layers and I was wondering if SoundIron ever fixed that. I'd love to get insights from anyone who has this library. I own several SoundIron libraries and have been very happy with them, but even though this library is very inexpensive, I'm not sure if I want to buy it if the developer hasn't fixed the velocity issue that Simeon pointed out. There is something about the vibe of this piano that I love. When Simeon started playing some Vince Guaraldi, I think he nailed it. It sounds like a piano you'd hear on an old jazz recording.

  41. Have patience. This is a new phase of beta coming up that will greatly expand the number of testers. They're calling it a "public" beta, but will still be by invitation and require NDAs. A new private subforum and mailing list will be created for this second phase. If you're waiting on acceptance it's probably down to administrative factors. Cakewalk may reasonably want to make sure the product has reached a certain level of stability before comitting to wider distribution. Those joining during this period will probably be getting more polished versions than the initial beta group are accustomed to, with fewer experimental or partially-implemented features, which reflects the current state of Sonar. It's come a long way in the past year. Caveat: I am mostly just speculating along with the rest of you, as I am not privy to any insider information.

  44. This is highly dependent on the original track and how it was mixed. Frequency overlaps between instruments can cause phasing issues (i.e., parts of stems end up in other stems), so if you (slightly) modify those and remix they can become transparent. However, if you remove a track entirely, that phasing will persist, and may not be usable even with more surgery. When you say "fairly dense," that is where you may find the limitations of un-mixing stems in short order. Almost every plugin that does this (and has additional repair tools) has a fully functional demo available (RX Standard/Advanced or SpectraLayers Pro), so if this is a one-off situation, you could demo one of those and see how it works for you with that specific track, and at least get that work done with the demo alone.

  46. Thanks all for the comments, I guess 🥴. I will be installing Studio One..., did I say Studio 1, or did I say Studio Wun... ooops I think you can tell I am an owner now. Install is happening tonight after work. Thanks for all of the great suggestions and things to look out for. I still love CbB, but I am tired of waiting for the new Sonar to come out . If I am going to pay for a DAW, I think the one with an excellent External Hardware Insert structure is what I'd pay for. "Pipeline XT" is awsome. and it it only cost me $180.00 wrapped up in a nifty DAW called Studio One 6 Pro. 🙃
