  3. Smart of Plugin Alliance to capitalize on the making of that song and how their plugins were used. As a huge Beatles fan, it got my attention. Thanks for sharing, Larry.

  7. Some are much cheaper on Pulse's site. Maybe even price glitch territory. Epic Percussion 3 for example is ~40+ bucks on Splash and 14.90 on Pulse. https://pulse.audio/developer/splash-sound/

  9. Yeah, rip it into stems, copy it, steal it, use until you're blue in the face - if you are the average broke musician. -Heck, with only 12 major tones in the western scale, you can accidentally happen upon a melody like one produced & sold before somewhere - mathematically, it's not unrealistic, by just chance. -Humming a tune from your subconscious, maybe listening to bird song (who is looking out for their IP..?) music seems so simple. -But if you have lots of money involved, that becomes a whole other thing in the western world. Just ask the spirit of sadly departed George Harrison, and on & so forth.🙊😑

  10. Because three times a week - sometimes twice in the same day - yet another person starts yet another thread on this exact same subject. And it always degenerates into useless speculations about pricing models and entitlement mentality crybabies bitching about the "lifetime updates" that they are "owed" That's why.

  13. The answer is Yoko. She had the idea and gave the cassette of this song to George Harrison. So I guess that was a full circle turn for her, from breaking the Beatles up to virtually reuniting them for one last time. [Ducks for cover.]

  14. I get that they weren't the star, the AI software was. But the fact is, Lindell Audio 80 Series, SPL Transient Designer Plus, Brainworx bx_townhouse Bus Compressor, and Brainworx bx_console SSL 4000 E were used on the production of that song, the final Beatles recording. If I were in charge at Plugin Alliance, I'd absolutely want my team telling that story. It conveys that Plugin Alliance is being used by top pros on some of the world's most high profile tracks. I don't think it's comparable to someone getting their face in a shot on a TV show. A highly qualified audio pro working on a track for one of the best selling, iconic bands in music history trusted that PA's tools were up to the task to use on The Beatles' final song. That's a pretty big deal, IMO.

  17. This is me usually. As someone who has almost 370,000 tracks to choose from, I make my own playlists! That said, the few times I've been at a friend's place where she was using Pandora or Spotify, when it deviated from the "seed" (artist or specific song) I actually learned of a few more artists to check out! In fact, the five I've been listening to lately have all come that way. So, there IS a benefit occasionally! 🙂

  20. Love me some Albert King 😀 Yes it can be a tough balancing act to keep playing fresh music and keeping the chops up . It used to be OK I'll play my guitar and music after I walk the dog , buy groceries , got to my doctors appointment , see whats on sale in the deals section of the forum , check the coffee house to find out what Bapu ! Strummy ! and Craig are up to .😆... Now my guitar playing comes first ..... I wont even take a poop until after I have played 😆 Yeah I know way too much information ... When I set aside a totally distraction free time to play I have been getting the feeling of being musically recharged when I focus on my connection to the music inside of me that wants to come forth 😊. all the best Kenny

  21. Here's another plugin... with a twist. it's a VST3 Midi Effect called VelociRouter. I couldn't do track routing with MidiFX so this is what I came up with. If you've ever wanted to route Midi data to separate tracks depending on the velocity of the note, this is for you! You can adjust the velocity of the notes that are routed using the Velocity Offset knobs. This can be useful for balancing transitions. A paltry set of instructions are on the web site... it's pretty easy to use. Just make sure you pay attention to the part about enabling Midi Echo on all receiving tracks. This is required for all plug-ins that produce Midi data. If you you're having a problem getting it to produce Midi output, double check the VST3 setting Enable MIDI Output. It should be checked by default. As with all the other plug-ins, it comes with a 100% money back guarantee 😁 Get it here.

  22. If you have a serial number for Essential, you can use it as a coupon to get a €20 discount direct with Celemony. It doesn't even matter if it has been registered as mine has been. Just entered that registered Serial No and it brought the update to Studio 5 from version 4 down to €9.

  23. Yes, but you need to be on the latest release and the activation server it uses will eventually be shut down after an unknown - but likely pretty generous - period, so it will quit working when your activation expires. The price of the paid replacement, Sonar (no longer all caps), has been promised to be "very reasonable" (or similar language). If you like CbB, have used it for a long time, and music is important to you, you should just plan on shelling out when the time comes. All the discussion about this reminds me of the answer that's commonly given on motorcycle forums when someone asks how much they should spend on a helmet... "How much is your head worth?"

  25. I even forgot that I already downloaded this new version two weeks ago. And I didn't even install it yet 🫠 Nothing wrong with the software, it's just that when I get something for free, I appreciate it less than when I've spent money on it. Strange, but that's how my brain works. 🙃

  26. The nomenclature for this process should be "ripping stems from a mixed track" so as not to be confused with actual 'stems' in the industry as detailed by @Glenn Stanton. Personally, I'm anticipating tons of copy and mechanical rights issues in the future from this nonsense.

  28. Stop selling it short. The clip showed my whole body in action for like whole 2 and a half extra long seconds! And there were pyros! You don't see pyros on any Beatles song. "Now and Then" music video has been watched like 30 million times on Youtube where as the TV show was shown to a population of over 120 million during prime time and the whole country probably watched reruns of it too! So at a conservative estimate, that's like... 200 million views even before Youtube clips... Anyway. I just find the 'claim to fame' things funny at times when they're based on a random few second clip or an out of context photo. If they'd know and tell how their tools were used, then that'd be a completely different story. Otherwise, based on the clip, the engineer simply could have tried out a bunch of their tools (on trial) and figured they don't work for the job and then use some other plugins to do the job few minutes later. Heck. Fab Filter has even bigger claim to fame since they show a close up of their software and I can actually see John Lennon's ghost in the EQ! Or perhaps they were simply using the tools to balance dialogue in the documentary, rather than on creating and mastering the actual song. Which is a great feat in itself and a testament of good products, but again, maybe not a fair representation of reality. So. Without more context on what, how, why, when, the thing appears more like a 'interesting' tidbit that you'd post on Facebook, Insta or Twitter. A 'funny' clip that shows how your tools are used here, there and everywhere. Maybe. But without more context and actual receipts, having a mini-headline "Plugin Alliance's Role" (when the context is creation of the track) where all you've got to go with is basically a glorified screenshot... And then also spam everyone's email with it... But I digress. The most important part needs to be said again: Stop trying to divert the attention, PA. Where's the coupons? Where's the deals? (and just to be on the safe side with everyone, feel free to stick this where appropriate: 😉)
