Yes, the multis will unlock when the top tier is reached. They believe, I know. I just had to verify that a couple of us pushing to make 100% clear exactly WHAT gets unlocked was understood and agreed upon. Thank Mr Erik Norlander himself for putting his much more than 0.02 worth into the discussion (he and I were of the "they must be unlocked at that point" point of view). So in short yes you'll get the multis when this gets to the top tier. Thank you for your patience, sincerely. Yes indeed! I think that is attainable. I'll do what I can, we did send out a much more involved email with the timer, sharing links, and the new goal to unlock an extension so I think it will be clear even to people who don't frequent audio forums Yes, they will be unlocked.7 points

It sketches me out that so many of these studios look like dust-free museums. It's like the entire spiritual foundation of music has been eradicated, and music is now created by super dull middle class types trying to recreate the ideas of the past...surrounded by dollar store fake plants and machine polished decorations. It's the like End Times are near.6 points

Only 87 more updates until what we've all been waiting for.... version 2.9.100 ?3 points

It appears that they are working on them -- but that progress is pretty slow. The most recent post on their FB page (from mid-April 2022) has these comments from P&M as replies to people asking about updates: Which sounds great! But here's their reply to a similar update inquiry on a post from October 2020: So the devs are still devving, evidently. But the timeframe for updates seems to be up in the air a bit.3 points

I have both OTS Pear and the Ample ABU. I'd use the ABU almost exclusively these days, but to be fair it's a much newer library than Pear, and costs more. Pear is cool but has a lot of the room baked in. Pear is prolly easier to use, ABU needs a bit more user programming of articulations but sounds better.3 points

I have some of those OrangeTreeSamples libs but prefer AmpleSound for sound and playability. It just goes to show how hard it is for US to tell YOU what would be best. Frankly, I have not compared bass libs for those two, but each time I compare guitars, there's always something wrong with OT (for example, the open D string on their 12-string has a funny buzz) while AmpleSound's is much easier to find acceptable. I don't remember details, but I found issues with OT's classical guitar as well. I've gotten to the point where I just start with AmpleSound and let OT lie there taking up space. BUT, you may find things differently! By all means I suggest trying the demo as recommended above.3 points

I appreciate your kind words and general patience when I occasionally get sensitive to some of the reactions, even if I know deep down nothing in those reactions is personal toward me. And I do believe that someone is working on cloning Bapu, and I think Bapu means "balance" in the language of AtleastthatswhatIhopeitmeansian There was an email to customers that went out with a countdown, the 2,000 participant goal for extension, etc. It was not in-house. I believe the non-US version went out a bit late so those outside the States might have received it after my message was posted. Thanks! Right back at ya. I wish. My father has two psychology degrees (including one in corporate psychology) so I'm not going to go down that path since I feel analyzed enough sometimes He did some interesting work with regard to his time at "Ma Bell" (basically AT&T before it was split up, but that's a bit of a gloss-over of it) specifically having to do with Bell Labs and some of the amazing work of some amazing people and all that goes with that. So he could write the real report! Even I don't want to read it. In context of you replying to the above, I absolutely agree.3 points

Yes, starting with SONAR X3. On 64bit Windows, 32 and 64bit DX plug-ins are registered in different locations. If fact all the 32bit software registry entries are kept separately under WOW6432Node. Both 32 and 64bit versions of old Cakewalk DAWs may be installed on the same machine. It has been that way since the introduction of 64bit SONAR. Both the software and registry entries are stored in different locations. What they will share are Cakewalk Content, the user directory and ProgramData. Folders are created for each product but the data in the folders are not 32/64bit specific. If this is a 32bit X-series version of SONAR, you should be using preferences to perform plug-in scanning operations. That said, when the scanner options are disabled it most often means the registry entry for the scanner is bad or missing. Running a full-personalization which overwrites the files in the user directory also attempts to restore the registry entry for the scanner. To perform a full-personalization depends on which version of SONAR is running for X3 and older hold down SHIFT+CTRL while opening the DAW for SONAR newer than X3 hold down the CTRL while opening the DAW This will present a dialog about personalization. Use the dialog to confirm running personalization. If this does not work, re-install the DAW. The fact that all VSTs are missing and the scanner entry may be missing means something happened to the registry. Possibly a registry cleaner was run and accidently removed the entries.2 points

Yes its there, but without double clicking in the text area I don't think others can type in comments either. That's why I double click there. For all of the obvious, unnecessary stuff that's in there, the documentation doesn't tell people to double click (unless I missed it)!!! ? Maybe its different on different PCs? Maybe there's a way to bind "Open Take Lane Comments Box" to something else? [Nope; not that I saw]2 points

There are also new 14 preset packs which are also available in the Analog Lab shop. These go for up to $14 each if you wanted to buy them without going to V9, Of course depending on the musical genres you want you are unlikely to want them all. Personally I was quite impressed with the previews of Piano Imaginarium which layers Piano V with Pigments. The videos above make the Augmented series more interesting to me now I can see the edit page and get some idea what the macro knobs are actually doing. All in all I think the upgrade is priced a bit too high particularly when you look at the cost of the full package so the jury is out here.2 points

As I've stated, I am a HUGE Amplesound Fan. I prefer them over OTS. OTS is good, but not quite at the same level IMO. There's much more to the Amplesound instruments for me.2 points

Yep. They must not be creating music in there. Where's the coffee cups? Ashtrays? Soda pop cans? Paper plates with half eaten Hot Pockets!!? Old PBJ samiches!!? Extra cables? Extra chairs? Extra Mic Stands? Extra everything!! Forgot to add: Sounds really good!! : )2 points

Black Velvet, Fairfax 1 & 2, Rock, Studio, Progressive, and Jazz Sticks here. I intended to get Jazz Brushes but I acquired Superior Drummer 2 and 3. After using Toontrack, Addictive just never found its way into any end projects. I do highly recommend Addictive and Black Velvet and the Fairfax kits to someone who needs a great affordable drum program without the bells and whistles and very large learning curve of Toontrack.2 points

I bought Tantra 2 untested the other day. Just tried it out for the first time. It looks and sounds amazing here. It looks like it's designed and optimised primarily to look good on high DPI displays rather than old school HD displays. If you have a decent NVIDIA graphics card you can use NVIDIA DSR scaling to fake the appearance of a High DPI display. When I turned DSR scaling off and went back to 2560x1080 Tantra 2 looked pretty average. It's one of those plugins that the thumbnails and shrunken screenshots doesn't do justice to. Rob Papen's plugins are somewhat similar in that they look great at full size and lame in thumbnails, although the frame rate of the animations on Tantra 2 are super smooth where Rob Papen's are slow FPS by comparison.2 points

Hey all, hope all is well. I received an email the other day from a fan who lost his copy of my first Cakewalk released material. (originally through MP3.com’s label where you could make cd’s from uploaded tracks.) I’m not at my place where my studio/ daw is plus the projects no longer exist so for fun I tried remastering the old masters using a laptop for my very first time. On my HP I installed Studio One, a handful of plugins & used an old pair of MDR-1706’s. These tunes were part of my intro period learning Cakewalk & midi circa 2000. Back then it was CW Pro Audio, a Delta 44, 16b/44k audio, a Kawai K1 II for my main keys & a few sound modules. No room treatment & pre IK’s ARC. For these ‘re-re-masters’ there wasn’t much I could do but the guy did get his replacement copy! It was poorly mixed along with some questionable parts but hope there’s something on it you might enjoy... have a great week.1 point

I found a work around for the crashing EZ Drummer 3. If you have EZ Drummer 2, add it and then replace it with EZ Drummer 3. For me it works every time. So with some playing I determined you can start with 2 and swap to 3 and it works. In addition, I noticed that if someone can add EZ Drummer 3 where it doesn't crash for them and then sends me that file, that file will load and not crash on my system. Good Luck! Terry1 point

To be honest Larry, if we remove the notion that this is "reggae", I think you're fine. You've fleshed this out nicely. But "ambient" or not; I don't think this is going on the Wailers play list: sorry ?... t1 point

It's also worth mentioning that Midi Export is now selection sensitive, so it'll only export what is selected. As mentioned above, the fool-proof way is to Save As -> Standard MIDI File.1 point

I know it was posted earlier but for those of us that missed out on V1 and don’t know any better, this is a GREAT deal. It’s both rhythmic and musical, especially on guitars and keys.1 point

Peter has to be the most patient software rep on the internet. We all love sales but they have been slamming this man every time they don't get something practically free. I will be passing up modo 2 for now because i honestly am still learning modo one and feel like i am so overloaded with vsts that i will never master them all. Modo 2 is tempting because it does offer things I wished 1 had. The upgrade price is not outrageous. I have paid ik upgrade prices full before and did not feel ripped off. In any case, Peter is not the guy setting the prices. As a former business owner, it is never wise to cater to customers who ONLY buy things at super super deep discounts. This thread proves those types will only expect that perpetually. Each company needs to clone Bapu.1 point

I tried to answer something politely in that thread and got my head sliced off. We'll share any information about the group buy when we have it. There's an email out about the future of the group buy too, that should be informative.1 point

The Piano Roll View allows: For more granular editing (you are not limited to exact divisions of measures when placing notes). The editing of controller data - like pitch bend , expression, volume, pan, filters, etc. The only thing I use the Staff View for is to enter lyrics synced to notes.1 point

Personally, I would avoid USB mics on Windows, the reasons being: 1. You can't use ASIO, as most USB mic's don't come with an output and Windows only allows one ASIO driver to be open at once. 2. You're stuck with the preamp built in to the mic, which may or may not be a good one... but it's never gonna be a Neve 1073. 3. You can't plug it into anything else but a computer. Additionally, if you're using it with other audio devices, there's no way of syncing the word clocks. So even using WASAPI Shared to record from multiple audio devices, they're all going to be misaligned and you'll have to deal with any phase issues by aligning the audio yourself afterwards. An XLR mic gives you way more options, and will be still be useable for decades - way past the point the drivers for your USB mic no longer work on your PC's OS. So unless you're ONLY doing pod-casts / voiceover work, I'd stay clear of them.1 point

If it works like Win10, removing the RealTek entry from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ASIO will leave the chip enabled for use by other Windows drivers while preventing access to the buggy ASIO driver.1 point
-
The way to get rid of the Realtek driver coming back is to turn off the on-board audio device in the Bios, or, if you’re not comfortable delving under the bonnet, disable it in Windows device manager. You can then safely delete the dreaded Asio4All. There will be a registry key to delete too. You can then use your off-board audio device for both Windows and DAW work. You have not yet said if you have one and what it is. I have done this on my desktop and audio + W11 works just fine (Focusrite 18i20). Same goes for the laptop on W10. J1 point

Yes there would be good to make Start screen of project management system where posibility sort projects by Year, month, day. Also would be good to ability filter projects by many criteria and condition. For example view Projects with tempo < 120 and in april good filter option into start screen and ability to view all projects would be good. Also posibility to select multiple projects by filter and export in zip or rar file.1 point
